Its a damn shame that this has happened to Bernie. Did I expect it to happen to hell hell yeas. Did he deserve all the crap that is being dumped him OH HELL NO. This guy gave 150 percent to the bROWNS AND NOW GUYS ARE TURNING Their back on him. Anybody and I mean anybody who turned thier back on him does not even deserve to be called a Browns fan. . Throw out the stats, throw out everything else. Bernie had the Browns Back 100 percent It;s a damn shame thate we didn;t have his back as well.
I wasn't surprised when I heard the news. I mean whatever, it's color commentating during crappy pre-season football...
However, be a man and admit why you did it. To just dump him off like that, is pretty gutless if you ask me. Sure we can all assume the DUI and the ripping of players probably had its role, but I thought the fans, YOUR CUSTOMERS, deserved an explanation even if they pretty much know why you did it.

I think that the most disgusting thing about this is that Newspapers are just using it as an excuse to destroy Bernie. I mean, does it really matter that he has a porn star daughter? Really?

Preseason games are homer entertainment.
No real need for a polished network announcer over a guy who knows the team from the inside and who adds the type of insight only a brainiac like Bernie can do. The professional announcer 'sounds the part'. Bernie tells you what you want to know.
For preseason, I take Bernie over anyone the network can provide.
Wilcots is as good as any and better than most of the lower-tier announcers we could have been saddled with. He knows the roster and seldom disses the team or a player, unlike some announcers who will call any punt returner Josh Cribbs and complain about play calling as if execution had nothing to do with failure.
I've enjoyed every minute of Bernie in the booth and laughed along with him when he made fun of the opponent. It's a homer game after all. I'm a homer. Bernie's a homer. He is able to keep me interested in watching the game when my attention span wanes.
If Bernie could team up with a play-by-play commentator with himself doing the game analysis and stream it live during all the games that's what I'd be listening to all season.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Say, "Thanks for the memories." And then drive him home. Duh. He's Bernie Kosar, the law does not apply to him.

Look cfrs I have not said Bernie was drunk or was stone cold sober when he got pulled over as I don't know. We will find out when he gets his day in court. Meanwhile you have him in tar and feathers, tied to a stake, and are setting the woodpile on fire already. Have you ever checked to see if your ancesters lived in Salem MA years ago?
If he is guilty it could be because he was plastered, because he has a drinking problem, or because of his brain injury. I am not claiming to know which one it is, but unlike yourself I am keeping an open mind, and no matter which one it turns out to be I still say Bernie is a good guy who has problems one way or the other and he does not deserved to be tared and feathered.
Just have to bring a few of these up. Hope nobody chokes on their toenails.

Kosar was my teenage hero growing up, so when I say it pains me to disagree with you, I mean it.
Kosar used to deserve my respect. Now all I have for him is my pity because while my heart goes out to a guy who has lost his fortune and his family, it won't go out to a drunk who endangers the lives of others by driving drunk time after time after time.
Kosar will get my respect when he earns it, and the only way he's going to earn it is to do what it takes to get sober so he can stop endangering the lives of others.
If the Browns organization cares more about what they stand for than what they can stand to gain from using Kosar they'll put Bernie on ice until he gets clean.
This isn't about Kosar making a few mistakes. This is about an out-of-control guy who is putting other people at risk.
Get help, Bernie. Give us a reason to respect you again.

GM- Not arguing for or against. However, one of my good buddies is an attorney and pleads DUI cases down to reckless ops charges all the time. Especially for first time offenders. This, by no means indicates Bernie was or was not drinking. Defendant gets a slap on the wrist and may have to take some classes without DUI record, the municipality gets to collect the fees. A win win for everyone.
Personally, as empathically Bernie has stated he was not drinking and the slurred speech was solely the result of the concussions not drinking, it's peculiar he would have not been will to submit a breathalyzer and resolved this whole ordeal on the spot.
Either way, I hope for the best for the guy.

What does that have to do with the notion that a reckless op plea is proof of sobriety?
I don't have to judge him as a human being in order to be aware of his substance abuse problems.
And if you're sober, you blow and save yourself thousands in legal fees/bad press.

Yet you can not post ANY proof that he has a sobriety problem. What if he blew a .06 5 beers in a two hour span would put him there and he worried that he would be a .08. You judge him like he did something wrong when he would be within the legal limits
