Farmer got his favorite CB in the draft and a 2015 1st rounder. Probably a good one considering Buffalo's record.
We can get WRs in free agency every year. We can't get legit, starting CBs in free agency without paying $$$$$$$$$

Love it.
After the trade down I was hoping for him or Matthews.

I'll say what I've said since the start of off season. I don't care what they do, it just better be right.
I think we sold Watkins cheap, or at least we didn't get enough help for this season IMO. But what do I know.
Go Browns, hopefully Gilbert/Haden will be a great DB combo and no one can throw on us.

Gilbert + '15 1st > Watkins
(4th we get in '15 negates 5th we lose this year)

Welcome to Cleveland Justin!!!
If they wind up with Gilbert and Bridgewater/Manziel this will have been a huge day for the Browns. I really love Gilbert though, and am glad they ended up with the best player at a position of need.

some, and we also botched, imo, #6 last year with picking mingo.
my point is, stock piling picks is great in theory, but we are a losing team. we need elite talent, and we needed it, once again imo, on an offensive player. so if we suck yet again this year, theres always next year right?

If the Browns wanted the CB at 4, then it is a huge win to also grab a future 1st and 4th to get their guy. There is nothing lost.

look, i for one will support gilbert. i think him and haden will be sick.
i'm going to wait and see what we pick at 26, but we missed on some straight up nasty playmakers on offense.

Seems like a few need to read and then reread this comment.

don't let people bring ya down.
we got Gilbert (best CB), a future 1st, and the QBs are dropping so we can get one still. the draft is falling our way as long as someone takes Donald before a division rival gets him.

Let's let the first round play out and see where we stand. At least see what they do before we pound them. Watkins was another overrated WR prospect in the mold of Warrick, Rogers, etc. A WR that high would be utterly stupid, and the Browns did the right thing. We got a guy who was a position of need....and the best at his position...........plus ammo for this year or next years draft. Great move by the Browns.

I'm surprised at the pick, but I'm liking the idea of having two outstanding corners.
Kinda hoping we use Buffalo's 2015 1st to buy another pick in this year's 1st, plus our pick at 26.
Browns is the Browns
... there goes Joe Thomas, the best there ever was in this game.

I already said I don't care what they do they just get it right. I was just voicing my opinion that future draft pick seems cheap to me OR AT LEAST it doesn't help this year.
The Browns are at a point that they need to get better quickly. I wish they would of got more picks for this year.

I wonder what #35 + Bills '15 1st would buy us?

How many rookies can one team add?
Seriously.
We started with 10 picks. No way we keep that many rookies on the roster. Why not incorporate some of those picks, and get down to 7 or 8 top quality picks ..... and if you can also add quality for next year, even better.

I'm talking about higher picks like BUF 2nd and 3rd. The rest you package for better picks.

You cannot always count on packaging picks though.
He had a chance to add a future 1st and 4th for little cost. He did a great job pulling that off.

I hope you right. Banner and Lombardi probably thought the same thing with getting all the extra picks for this year. How did that work out for them?
That's the last I'm going to say on the matter. I've already stated that what ever they do I will back but they better be right. I'm not willing to sit through another 5yr rebuild job.

They made the right decision regarding the draft. They just made too many other poor choices.

I'm happy with our trade...
I believe we will get one of the QB's and we will be in a great position and people will still be happy

Yea. If your Banner and Lombardi you don't draft 20 rookies you sign and keep 20 UDFA rookies.

I think that we might even pass on a QB at 26. (If we also have a deal with the Saints to trade to 32)
I wonder what 26 will be.
