Yea I loved how Bilas just shot down Simmons. That guy is such a fool. Like the Cavs don't know who they are taking.

Believe me, I was very high on TT. You can scroll through old threads and see that.

But his development stagnated, and Brown isn't the culprit.

I guess it depends on how one defines 'useful', but thinking TT can be a meaningful player on a contender is wishful thinking at this point.

Not saying it can't happen, but it's highly unlikely. Let's hope Blatt is a magician.

Well, right now he is a double double guy, and was a moderately decent defender, until, oddly enough, last year.

I certainly wish that he was quicker, and I do feel that his lack of quickness does hold him back ..... but I did feel that he was coming along nicely under Scott, then went in reverse to an extent under Brown.

Wiggins to the Cavaliers. Love the pick!

Welcome aboard Andrew!

Now I hope we keep him! I don't want to trade this kid unless we absolutely rob another team.

Wiggins can play the 2 or the 3.

LeBron can pretty much play 1-4.

Accommodating the two of them on the floor is a non-issue.

Why do we keep talking about LeBron?

I've grown tired of trying to talk people into reality on that front, but the original poster asked an earnest question and I answered.

I can't see that happening.

Man, Embiid did not look happy when he was picked.

I can't say I wouldn't take that gamble if I were them. At the very least, I understand it. They've got the 10 pick. If Noel or Embiid work out, they're not screwed.

I was more of a Parker guy than Wiggins, but I thought all along that we would take WIggins. I'm definitely ok with it. Both guys have potential to be good.

I do think we may actually get back into this round again.

Who would have thought 2 months ago that Cleveland would end up with Andrew Wiggins and Johnny Manziel?

One thing I will say is that they are not close enough that they need him this season anyway,

I am stunned that the Magic took Gordon.

Unless you're dealing with a dominant freak of nature, you shouldn't take a guy at 4 whose scouting report leads with 'can't shoot'.

I think that Exam made sense there.

Gordon is an athlete. He is fast. He can run. He can dunk. He can rebound. He can defend.

He cannot shoot.

At all.

He is lousy at the free throw line, which could lead to Hack a Shaq treatment.

I think that he went too high.

JMHO

You would think Wiggins would get traded to Minny, if Lebron decided he wanted to come here.

Philly ...... with Michael Carter Williams ...... and needs everywhere ....... takes a pure PG in Payton.

I don't get that one.

He's not a shooter at all.

Maybe trade bait? What teams need a true PG?

If you are able to lock up Kevin Love, and Lebron James, I'm not sure what other explanation you need.

A core of Lebron, Irving, and Love would be a very nice start.

I don't know that you go all out to trade for Love without some sort of handshake deal with Lebron to return though. (and I don't know if you could get that from him) It's a difficult situation, because if you get Love and gut your roster in doing so, (including Wiggins) and don't get Lebron ..... then you have nothing except a disgruntled Kyrie Irving. (who you then wind up having to trade for assets, and we're back to step one again)

The guys on the PD show kept referring to Wiggins as a 2 .... but I think that the Cavaliers (if they don't get Lebron) have to play him at the 3 ..... because it's much harder to find a top flight SF than SG.

Love isn't coming here without LeBron committing.

The Cavs' would be borderline retarded to trade Wiggins for a Kevin Love rental on the slim-to-none odds that LeBron returns.

You would have to have a deal with Minny, and at the same time have a deal for Lebron already signed. I never said to trade Wiggins without Lebron here. I understand that. You could also wait til next summer to sign Love, without trading Wiggins, but I doubt Lebron would come here without a major move being made.

A Wiggins-for-Love trade isn't going to happen unless Lebron says he's coming to the Cavs. My guess is that they've got a preliminary deal in place with Minnesota that says they'll trade Wiggins and/or other pieces for Love. They can take that to Lebron when he starts talking to teams in Free Agency, and IF he agrees to come, THEN they pull the trigger. Actually, I don't think they could even pull the trigger until after Lebron signs anyway if they want to get the cap to work.

A potential Irving-Love combo, with a fleshed-out bench would be an attractive pitch to make Lebron. Other teams would have to gut their rosters to fit him under the cap.

And if they do, they're morons.

You don't turn down the pretty girl at the bar that wants to go home with you for the ex who's left you that you still pine for.

That's a bad analogy...I've had too much to drink.

We clash on the Cavs, but you do know what you're talking about.

Either way...Wiggins is the potential future you build upon. If LBJ comes back, awesome. If you're building around the notion of that possibility, you're an idiot.

And by 'you' I mean Dan Gilbert.

A preliminary deal does nothing ... I suppose you could even have something in writing that says, "If Lebron signs with you as a free agent, then we agree to trade you Kevin Love for Wiggins, next year's #1, and some other pieces to make the contracts work."

You take that to Lebron on Day One of free agency. If he likes it, you sign him, invoke the trade, and win championships now. If he doesn't, you keep Wiggins, build around your current core, and aim for championships in 3-4 years.

Cavaliers pick at 33 is Joe Harris from Virginia. I admit that I can't recall seeing him play.

He's not a starter, but he looks like a guy who could be a nice reserve pick, and catch and shoot guy who moves well without the ball, and who can knock down threes. His reports say that he can also dish it fairly well. (3 assists/game) He looks like a nice role player.

Plus, he was already a Cavalier ...... so little adjustment necessary. lol

If Minnesota requires Wiggins to get Love, I would laugh into the phone until they hung up..

..Then I would call them back and continue laughing...

I will give you guys like Waiters, Thompson, Bennett, future firsts, whatever...

The point in getting Love, is getting LeBron, and theres almost no point if you ONLY have those 3...

I truly believe, unless we do manage to bring back Lebron, that Wiggins will play SF, not SG.

We now have Wiggins and Karasev who are supposed to be able to play either the 2 or 3, to go along with Waiters and Jack at the 2. (and Delli as well) There were reports that the Cavaliers were trying to move Jack at one point.

When the Cavaliers were at their original spot, they supposedly liked McDermottt because he has an outside shot, and can space the floor. I suspect that they will look for a veteran PF who can fill that role, while hoping that Bennett can mature into that kind of player. When they were able to grab Wiggins instead of a guy like McDermott, they still wanted an outside shooter. I think that they see him as a situational player only.
