Wasn't he drafted before we picked?

I thought he was drafted at 5 and we had the 6th pick???

Am I wrong about that?

We didn't settle on Mingo..

We "hoped" he'd "fall" to us...

Banner was going to trade out if Mingo wasn't there..

Mingo was the pick the whole time.

Using the same pick numbers as you had, and the CBS big board as a baseline, I came up with the following. I'd be stoked with this draft.

Round 1 Pick 12: Dante Fowler Jr , OLB, Florida
Round 1 Pick 19: Danny Shelton, DT, Washington
Round 2 Pick 11: Arik Armstead, DE, Oregon
Round 3 Pick 13: Justin Hardy, WR, East Carolina
Round 4 Pick 12: Garrett Grayson, QB, Colorado State
Round 4 Pick 16: Tyler Kroft, TE, Rutgers
Round 5 Pick 11: BJ Finney, C/G, Kansas State
Round 6 Pick 13: Tony Washington, OLB, Oregon
Round 6 Pick 22: Damarious Randall, S, Arizona State
Round 7 Pick 12: Mike Hull, MLB, Penn State

I would like to point out that FanSpeak REALLY needs to update their rankings..

I got both Mariota at 12, and Cooper at 19... Then lost interest.. cause that's just silly..

I'm convinced those sites do that on purpose so people will brag about their drafts and post the results so other people will go to the site. They can't possibly be that bad at it. Mine does it much more realistically and I'm not a professional.

I think we ought to stay where we are at 12 and 19 and take the best players available there at our positions of need and we have more than one lets be honest. We should be able to get 2 really good players for either DT,LB,OL,WR or whatever else.

My bad, I thought he was taken after we picked.

After watching the Cotton Bowl I'm not interested in Bryce Petty.

That kid looked sharp, confident and had an extremely quick and impressive release. Looks like he can see the whole field too because he was reading multiple receivers, not just locking onto one the entire way. Solid deep arm too.

I'm now on board with taking Bryce Petty at #19 or #44

IF our front office feels we need a QB....

I'll jump on the Danny Shelton band wagon as nice to have. I also like Brandon Scherff, OT/OG - Iowa. Brandon would make an outstanding OG.

Welcome to the Danny Shelton bandwagon. I think you are 3rd. Maybe 4th to join us. Come one come all, there's room for everyone!

At 6'2" and 239 lbs. in the 3-4 scheme?

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

hey, I'm a big Danny Shelton fan. I would love for us to grab him at #19. my main concern with him is that he is already a big, big man. so, I would want to see that he's going to fully commit to conditioning. but, his play is fantastic.

6'2" 335# and very athletic.

Stout against the run and gets pressure up the middle.

I can envision him being Shaun Rogers but with a love and exuberance for the game.

Well, he's not perfect. I've seen some cut ups where he gets pushed around way too much. if he was everything you described he'd be a no brainer top 10 pick, probably top 5. JMO.

I couldn't open that steve, but let me guess...........Banner said AFTER the draft that Mingo was their guy all along. Right?

LOL...........do you think that is proof? Seriously?

Or, did your link reference something else?

He's referring to Klosterman's piece where he was invited into the war room.

Yeah, sorry I was trying to post a link from my phone at a gas station and it didn't work to well. The next post has a usable link. It is a bit of a surreal read.

'Laughing out loud' at someone's assertion and asking if they seriously believe it is indeed condescending and snarky.

I do it often, but as I said, I make sure that I know what I'm talking about beforehand.

In the end, it served as a pretty accurate snapshot/summation of the regime.

I've always liked Klosterman.

Pit, where did you get your bio figures? I saw 6'2" 339 lbs. Maybe article you read transpose the first and second digit.

Danny Shelton - Washington Univ.

Biggest question mark I have read on Shelton is he laps in technique at times. Biggest plus I've read is he eats up blockers. If I remember correctly, isn't that the same scouting report on Haloti Ngata? No, I'm not saying he is Haloti Ngata. Danny's scouting reports reads similar if I remember correctly. I was stunned when Browns traded the Haloti pick to the Ravens with Crennel as HC.

I remember when they picked him, the ESPN crew went on a spiel about how he's lazy and takes a bunch of plays off..

And then they talked up the pass rushing ability of Wimbley..

So..yeah..

Besides QB the other big priority this offseason is to find some players who can rush the qb and stop the run. This has to be at the top of the list. It has been a problem for too long.

If we end up trading Josh Gordon I don't know how they couldn't take a receiver at #12 or #19...

I really like Jaelen Strong out of Arizona State.

Sign Cecil Shorts and Jeremy Maclin.

I'd say no to Shorts and yes to Maclin.

Shorts really isn't that good.

I'd take those two. What he's been able to do playing with the worst starting QB in the NFL then the worst starting QB in the NFL is pretty impressive I think.

Steve, was that response to me?

Has anyone else noticed a weird board thing going on where who you intend to respond to isn't what's shown?

Something to do with the 'quick reply' by any chance?

That was the popular sentiment on the old boards at the time...lazy, takes plays off...I'm sure there were some people honking for him, but he wasn't well liked.

'Trade up for Hawk' was the most popular sentiment. Wimbley's name shot up the boards late, which worried me. I hadn't watched much college ball at all that year, but I remember being uneasy because his name shot up lists during silly season.
