Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb.
And now Davonte Adams is emerging.

Sorry my mistake. I read your previous post as 2 #1 picks not as 2 #1 type WRs. carry on.

They have been my "second team" since they entered the league. Used to have a Steve Largent jersey.
When they and the Bucs entered the league, My Pops said "pick one. First team that makes it to the SB, the loser buys a steak dinner."
I wish I could have bought him that steak dinner. I would even have treated him to a steak dinner last year when My Team won.
Still miss him like I did a week after he died.

Nobody. I can't wait until this season is over. I'm so tired of seeing these same old teams. Blah, blah, blah. It's like watching fat kids eat.
Not to mention the slurpfest that you will get on Sunday. Pick your poison. Do you wan the Brady/Belichick slurpfest? How about the Aaron Rodgers slurpfest? Not good enough for you, been there done that? Well, there's always the Andrew Luck slurpfest!! The Seattle love is annoying too.
Yes, you don't have to tell me, I'm insanely jealous of these NFL cities that have great teams.

I hate the whiny Seasquawks and hate Brady even more. I guess I'm hoping for a GB/Indy Superbowl, but it's probably going to be Seattle vs New England.

Indy and Green Bay.
I think Seattle is too full of themselves, and the Pats are obnoxious about their winning history.
So that should hex both Indy and Green Bay.
Welcome back, Joe, we missed you!

It's just.. not fair..
Indy has a HOF QB that gets injured.. has ONE BAD YEAR.. And gets probably another HOF QB..
Green Bay has a HOF QB.. then goes right into ANOTHER HOF QB...
New England lucks into a 6th round pick..
Seattle has probably one of the best stretches of late round drafting.. and builds a team that their 3rd round pick can lead to a SB..
It's..just..not..fair..

On a long enough timeline, it evens out. The question is...will we be alive to see it though?

After giving up being a season ticket holder in 2008 and needing an NFC team to root for (since the Browns pretty much suck every year), I chose another NFL team with tons of tradition: The Green Bay Packers. So it is the Packers who I continue to cheer for. I do not expect them to go to Seattle and win, but I am hoping for ANOTHER Super Bowl appearance since I started to invest my time and money in them. I'm SO glad I stopped donating to the joke that continues to call itself an "NFL franchise" located in Cleveland. LOL
After 55 years, I'm walking away from this dumpster fire. Good luck to everyone who continues to hang on. You'll need it.

Because why root for the ups and downs for a bad team.. when you can root for a team that wins.. and then if the bad team starts winning you can root for them too.. Please provide ANY proof of these "ups" you refer to in the last 10 years. The Browns are the 3rd worst team in terms of winning percentage for those 10 years. Although they are my hometown team, they have simply become my AFC team. Having spent 45 years HOPING this team will produce SOMETHING, I simply made the decision to add an NFC team to reduce my annual frustration. If this regime (Pettine and Farmer) leave town without producing ONE playoff appearance, I am DONE. Seriously. As Mike Polk Jr. noted..."it is statistically harder to be this consistently bad than it is to be occasionally accidentally be good. The probability is staggering." I think that sums it up nicely. I remain hopeful although my hopes are slim. If not, it's been a wasted lifetime following this once proud but now incompetent franchise. So be it. On to bigger and better things.

As I have stated any number of times, it was pretty obvious that Indy tanked the season in order to draft Luck when Peyton went down with the neck. Same reasoning that led the NBA to have a lottery.
FWIW, I would have done the same.

FWIW, I would have done the same. Could you imagine if we had tried the same all year long that season? We played the Colts in week 2 that year, and won 27-19. However ..... what if .....? (cue the cheesy spiraling down the drain special effect ....) It's a tense 4-4 game, with less than 2 minutes left. Each team has fumbled the ball out of their own end zone twice, for Safeties ..... The Browns, in an attempt to get the Colts to score, fumbled the ball into their own end zone, and not one player on the offense went for the ball. After a minute or so, the officials whistled the ball dead, and awarded possession to the Browns, for a Safety. The Colts are highly upset, and the coach protests, drawing a penalty. The Browns dispute the penalty call, and get one called in return. Anyway, it's a tie game, with less than 2 minutes left, and the Browns fumble the ball on their own 15, and "accidentally" flop the ball all the way back to their own 1 yard line, where a Colts player, in desperation, "accidentally" kicks the ball out of bounds. The Colts player is penalized for kicking the ball, and the Browns pick up extra yardage as a result. They protest, but to no avail. A Colts player, trying to help the cause, punches a Browns player ..... adding a personal foul to the picture. The Browns run a series of plays, and lose almost all of the yardage, the last being the RB trying to get into the end zone for a Safety, only to be picked up and carried down the field by the Colts. Anyway, it's 4th down, and the Browns opt to "go for it". They hand off to the RB, and the Colts defense parts like the Red Sea. The RB with the ball goes up and punches a Colts defender and runs away from him, into the end zone. The defender, angry as can be, gives chase. The Browns RB stuffs the ball into the gut of the defender, and not thinking, the defender grabs the ball. TD Colts! Can the Colts allow more than 7 points with less than a minute left? The Browns do the unthinkable, and attempt an onside kick. The Colts are stunned. The Browns recover, and run backwards with the ball, to their own 20, before the Colts catch up. The Colts fiercely try to drag the Browns player towards their own end zone, to no avail. The officials look on in a bizarre mix of horror and amusement. The Browns player finally goes to the ground. They trail by 7, with 1 minute left. The Colts need a miracle. The Browns snap the ball, and the entire Colts defense retreats to the sidelines. The RB fumbles the ball in his own backfield, and looks around, "trying" to find the ball, but is unable to do so, being a whole yard away from it. Finally a Colts player picks up the ball, and retreats toward his own end zone, The Browns frantically try to stop him from taking the safety. They fail, and the Browns score a 3rd safety! The Colts now lead by 5 ... and have to force the Browns into a TD. They kick off, and the ball goes sideways, out of bounds for a penalty. Browns ball on the Colts 34. The Browns snap the ball, and try to run backwards, but the Colts tackle him. One play left. The Browns snap the ball, and the Colts jump offsides. They continue to jump offsides until the ball is at the Colts goal line, 1st and goal. All the Browns have to do is snap the ball and down it. This is the Browns though. One un-timed down left. The Browns snap the ball, and it falls loose on the ground, A Browns player picks it up and tries his best to run backwards, but the Colts catch up to him. They carry the Browns player, with the ball, towards their own end zone. They have his arms pinned so he cannot get the ball out. The officials have no clue what to do here. There is no rule against a defender carrying an offensive player into his own end zone. They have him to the 15 ... to the 10 .... the Browns are doing their best to stop them, but to no avail. They get him to the 2 .... and the Browns player finally gets his arm free, and fumbles the ball out of bounds at the 2! Colts ball! Game over! The Browns lose!

There is only the present and the future. The Past? Only thing we can do about the past is learn from it. We cannot change it. As a Fan there is no Whoa is me about the past. Its building on what this regime did last season. This regime is about 2014 as a start and what they learn, build and bring to the table in 2015. Generally a new regime gets 3-5 years to justify their body of works.
We made two coaching changes in the Offensive part. It was done for several reasons. If we were middle to the road offense I can see the upside to keeping them. But we came in the Bottom 6. There seemed to be friction. Continuity is good but possibly this will help us move forward.
Its all about 2015 now. If you cannot put away the negatives of the past and see that every season is a new beginning. That is up to you but not a good way to make a life.
Learn, get better. I'm looking forward to year 2. We got a Defense on the verge to great things. We got a FA period w/some money, we'll see how much we have after signing our own players. And a Draft/UDFA to look forward and improve.
