1. Can someone show us the "reports" that said the Browns were going to fire Shanny?

Not explicitly but in a reading-between-the-lines manner, yes.

rofl ...greener pastures as the OC in Atlanta? He wanted a HC gig and nobody seriously considered him.

My guess is that teams that thought about it inquired to the Browns about the circumstances of Shanahan's departure and when informed about them struck him from their lists of candidates.

May we have some type of proof as to why you are stating that the Browns were going to fire Shanny and that Shanny was looking for a HC job and not an OC job?

You are stating them like facts. I have serious doubts they are even close to factual. I think you are making them up to make Shanny look bad and the idiotic Brown's FO look good.

I didn't say that they used the words 'fire' but it isn't difficult to deductive powers.

From NBC Sports, dated January 6, 2015.

Also, whenever the terminology 'mutually agreed to part ways' comes into use, you can rest assured that it was a 'resign or be fired' exchange. It's a seldom used skill by certain posters on this message board.

Personally, I have no stake in it. I couldn't care less really but I've made it abundantly clear that I didn't like Shanahan's abilities.

I'm glad that the front office admitted their mistake early (after a single season) and 'mutually agreed to part ways' with Shanahan.

As with everything the truth is probably somewhere in the middle. At this point it is not useful to even argue about it because we don't know any actual facts about the situation and Shanahan is already with another team. The more interesting conversation at this point is who will replace Shanahan.

Do you have PROOF?!?!

Too logical to get any traction on this board.

LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...

So, you don't like the source and the reasoning used?

Okay, Sherlock, give us your logical take then. I mean the one other than you know better than anyone else on the planet.

To be fair, I was trying to be insightful but you know how well that plays with some.

Why are you looking at me that way? rofl

There was an article that stated that the Browns were looking at bring in offensive coordinator candidates before they and Shanahan "parted company". (and I think that I posted one of them here) There were also reports that said that they were doing so because he had been vocal about wanting out ..... so who knows. IIRC, both were PD articles, and as such are quickly (within a couple of weeks) buried under new articles on their website. After all, even in the off-season, they probably still write 5-10 Browns articles per day. crazy

2. It's weird that someone can state a guy who many talked about being the first overall draft choice and even more had going in round 1 was so terrible in college. No rewriting of history there.

I've said every word I've said about Manziel ad nauseum, way before we even took him. I said it back when he was taunting Rice.

Repeatedly. Over and over. Until people got sick of it.

You want to try and lob your simple minded bombs, go ahead, but zero people will agree with your claim that what I say about Manziel is revisionist history.

People who really dislike me will admit that much.

I've said since day zero that he wasn't worth a fourth round pick.

By the way, I once told you that Manziel wouldn't make it because he had horrible foootwork and threw ducks unless he couldnt step into it.

You said I "clearly knew nothing about football" and just hated Manziel".

Another example of a man who assumes he's smarter than the room, and doesn't stop twice to think whether or not his attempts at projecting a thoughtful or knowledgable person actually fools anyone.
