Quote: You guys are heading toward getting this one deleted...if you don't care, keep it up.
I would care.. if I thought anyone was actually going to step up and answer the question that started this thread... but since it seems no one can do that... it doesn't matter much to me anymore
i hope all the haters dont hate no more. hes our qb and i hope he starts week 1 and we should all hope he plays good.
I've seen many times people posting a list of QB's drafted in the first round saying "look how many busts" as their argument against BQ. I'm countering that with this one.
No, you set up a straw man so you could knock him down. Tyler is right. It's a dumb argument and no one but you wants to be associated with it. Give it up. A few will not like Brady. A few will love him beyond reason. The rest of us will wait to see what he does. Gosh....there's a concept.
"People who drink light 'beer' don't like the taste of beer; they just like to pee a lot."
I like the pick, gives an Ohio boy a chance with his childhood dream,....but I definitely was a "hater" because I wanted Joe Thomas FIRST. THEN,....you pick "skill" boys,.....
When did I bash you for not agreeing with me or not having my opiinion?? You lumped me with the other guys on this thread, because I didn't agree with you...lol. Anyway, my hole point was to DEBATE as to how much of a gamble this was. So I'll respond to the parts of your post that where doing that..........
Quote: And BigWillie, I was saying they would have a top 10 pick w/BQ starting, not Charlie.
. Bro if Fry is better than Quinn he'll start. Phil and Rac especially are 2 guys that have their jobs on the line this year, and they are going to put the best players on the field. There isn't any pressure on RAC to start Quinn over Fry (this year anyway) until Fry flounders. IF Fry came in and performed well like you seemed to think he could then he would keep his job this year. So therefore your point is mute, because if we pick top 10 it's because Fry either didn't get it done or because he couldn't beat out Quinn who couldn't get it done as a rookie. If Frye plays and proves to be a keeper than we have him as trade value to move back up and get into the 1st.
Oh and bro it doesn't matter what you nor I think about Charlie. It became all to clear this offseason that the FO thought Fry wasn't good enough, and that's a sign of death. The bottom line was CF was on borrowed time as soon as we started looking at trading for Green and Shuabb this offseason. We would have been going QB next year, and heck even Opie said as much in the interviews. So I'll ask again...........for debate purposes........how much of a gamble is it when you consider that next years 1 would have been under the same bust/boom factors you mentioned, but a year later and more $$$ tied up into him???
Against logic, the most effective armor is willful ignorance.
The only gamble is in the fact that if Brady doesn't pan out. (I doubt that happens) I doubt we ever look back at this as a "Bad" trade, because at the time, was it bad in our minds?
We traded a future first round pick (If we are even bad enough to get Brohm next year or Henne then thats who it would be used on most likely.) So what you have to ask yourself is would you rather want Brady Quinn or one of those guys? Personally I like Quinn more than I do Jamarcus Russell (Russell is a great QB don't get me wrong he just scares me a bit as a prospect.) Also, another poster put it like this, we spent our first round pick a year early and payed a second round service fee, which is true.
I don't think this should be classified as a gamble in the trade sense. The only gamble is taking a QB because it can make or break a franchise. And as proven many times by ESPN and EVEN TOPDAWG16... 4 Year starters in the first round have been very successful.
Quote: Ok, maybe I did take it too literally, but why would you even say that?
Why are you so obnoxious
Becaue he is an immature internet rat.
Annoying. That is the easiest word to explain it. He is like one of those posters from the old board that just responded to threads to get their post counts up.

Quinn is a Cleveland Brown, he's living a boyhood dream, just like Charlie, good for him,
Folks we can say we like him dont like him, it dosent matter, He's a Brown, we need to support him, If he starts day 1 great if not ok too, we BACK BOTH QB'S...I WANNA WIN.......
Now is not the time to play Couch vs Holcomb now is the time to support both, and forget about whos right or whos wrong, but consentrate on winning,
