I'm considering canceling my Sunday Ticket subscription. Unless they want to offer it dirt cheap, I may just stream the audio of Donovan via the Browns app. I can't believe I am even saying that, but this crap is getting old. I love this team, but paying to watch them on TV is becoming laughable.

I had season tickets since 1981. It was always a dream of mine to one day have children and pass the tickets down to them.
Well, I did have kids. I took my kids to games. My daughter one game. My son the next. This went on for years.
We moved down south. I kept the tickets. Still thinking that one day they would be my kids' tickets.
We drove up several times a year. 600 miles up. 600 miles back. Took one day off of work to do it. Went in Monday morning tired. My son went w/me half the time. My daughter the other half. Thank God we still own a house in Stark County.
My neighbors and friends would see us back in town and worry if something was up w/my mother. Nah, we are just back for the Brown's game. They would look at us like we were freaking nuts. They might not even watch the Browns on TV that week because the Browns were so bad and they had a life.
Loyalty. That is what I hung my hat on. Loyalty to my team. It was like some badge of honor. I wore it proudly and still do. That's all I had and still have.
Why is that? Because the Browns have not given me any return on my investment---both financially and emotionally---over the years. They consistently change regimes. They have been dysfunctional. They get a good coach and then fire him. They bring in idiots and inexperienced guys no one else wants for the same positions. They brought in The Big Show---who hardly showed up for work. He had three freaking homes that he visited during the season and Junior bought one of them for him. You can't make this crap up.
I sold my tickets last year after Haslam fired Banner. I thought we finally have a guy in the FO w/vision. Real vision. Yeah, he wasn't a popular guy, but being visionary is rarely popular.
Selling the tickets and PSL was such an agonizing decision. I gave up one of my dreams. I was hoping those tickets would stay in our family for generations. Does anyone understand how depressing that is?
Well, it is a year later and I see they have increased ticket prices by a substantial amount. Heck, they almost reached .500 this year. Then, we hear about all the dysfunction that is transpiring in Berea.
I don't know, man. I feel no joy or redemption at turning in my tickets. Instead, I wonder what might have been....you know, like in a book that has a happy ending for someone who suffered for a long time.

Under the circumstances, I'd say this is a dumb move... Hmnnnn, yeah. I didn't attend every game from 08-2012 when I was a season ticket holder. I went to 4 or 5 a year and I saw three wins during that time span. After we played for the tie against the Rams and Pontbriand botched the snap for the tie. I said to myself "I'm never coming back here." Needless to say they wont be drawing me back in anytime soon. Ah yeah I was at that game too, but I did not have season tickets thank God. It was the fourth game in a row I went to where they didn't score a TD. How in the world is that possible? I have never seen more inept football ever at any level. Of course I say that every year that goes by about this team. It was after that year, I have spent very very little money on this team and feel great about it. I get very cheap tickets here and there when I have nothing else to do and I don't spend a dime on apparel. Pat Shurmur perfectly symbolized the Browns since the return..."One big mistake!"
Congratulations to our 2016 NBA Champion CLEVELAND CAVALIERS!!! Greatest comeback in sports history... Hail to the King!

I really do prefer to watch on TV. Went to one this year (tampa bay). Here's the funny part, I've never been to a game where they lost. That's going to back as far as 1960.

So, you guys are saying PSLs are no longer "valid" or needed? Glad we sold ours a handful of years ago. Sorry, Higho, if you are now STUCK with the loss.

Instead, I wonder what might have been....you know, like in a book that has a happy ending for someone who suffered for a long time. Wow Vers! After 22 years, I'm thinking of not renewing this year. My tix increased 25%. I tried for years to get my son interested in the Browns. Took him to games, taught him, met a few players and watched STO regularly. I My son has no interest. He laughs at JM and says that in school everyone laughs about JM and the Browns. He is 14 and we live in PA. That says something. Living in the heart of Steeler country it is difficult for our family. My son is a strong and independent thinking youg man. He understands the dysfunction that exists within the organization and wants no part of it. He has chosen volleyball as his sport. He wants no part of the Browns. It just isn't any fun anymore. Those 2 hour drives home are usually excruciating listening to the post game jabber, complaining and false hopes. If I could find someone to split season tix with me, I would most likely do it. However, Browns fans willing to spend dollars are hard to come by! Might give them up and scrounge up a few cheap seats during the season. What a sad state of affairs.

PSLs are not necessary anymore. So, I'm trying to sell our PSLs that we bought in 2006, but no one will buy them because why would they?
I am unfamiliar with this feeling of optimism

I gave my seat to his son as continuing to throw my money away on the tickets year after year was never going to being back the money for the PSL anyway. It wasn't easy to do, but looking back I'm glad I cut my losses when I did. I just wasn't having any fun.

I hear you, man.
A 25% increase is huge! The news coming out of Berea is depressing. Dysfunction. Hiring a coach who has never coached before. WTH? Hiring an OC who has never called plays before. Combine those two guys w/Manziel? Seriously?
I miss the tailgating. I miss the parties. I miss seeing old friends and families.
I really don't miss the games, because they almost always lost. I surely don't miss the 1200 mile trips, the expense, and the exhaustion that came afterwards.
I hope you make the right choice for yourself, bro.

I've been a fan since 1950. I went to the first, last and only football double header in the old Muni. I managed to get to a game in 2004 and was able to see them win for a change. I watched the 1963 Browns whip the tar out of cowboys and won $5 without points. I had a little faith back then. My faith has taken a nose dive since then but I got sucked in again this season. Sooo disappointing. I'll keep an eye on them but I'm a fair weather fan from now on'
That said, I feel your pain! I do.
I'll check in once in awhile to say hello.
