Trent will go to Tampa where they run a 4-3 so he doesn't have to stand up.

I doubt we will get him.

Cole probably wouldn't stand up much with us either. He would likely come in during pass rushing situations and be utilized at what he does best.

If Tampa is our main competition for Cole then I would say we have a real good shot at him if we are truly interested and can agree to terms cause Tampa is probably in worst shape as a franchise right now then us and Trent is an Ohio boy.

Would this not be Willie McGinnist all over against?

Yep, Cole would be a great rotational pass rusher for the Browns.

In other news, Cobb headed back to GB per Adam Schefter. Not all that surprising.

Adam Schefter
@AdamSchefter
Randall Cobb back to Green Bay on a 4-year, $40 million deal, per source.

I hope today is an exciting free agent day w/ tentative contracts in place to be signed on Tuesday. If not, we can go back to comparing Hoyer to McCown some more...

After the WR and CB market was established (w/ Cobb and Jackson contracts) we could see other contracts materialize.

Ed Dickson has some horrible hands...he had a ton of potential coming out of Oregon...Looked really good one year for Baltimore and has kept regressing...Watched several Panthers games, he got more involved later in the year and played well in spurts including playoffs

Maybe a non-productive comparison but definitely a produce comparison smile

Byron Maxwell deal is done. Guarantee came in higher after more discussion. Byron Maxwell will become an Eagle Tuesday w/ $25 mil guaranteed

Deal also changed from 6 year $63 mil. It's now reportedly set to be a 5 year deal around $53 to 54 million. Byron Maxwell / Eagles

Another CB cashes in! If I'm Buster Skrine, I am absolutely loving how the CB market is shaping up at this point in time.

Yeah, Skrine is going to be a very rich young man in a few days.

I don't know how good Odrick is against the run. It seems like he can rush the passer from anywhere on the line though.

Flowers was cut by the Chiefs last year. He then played great for the Chargers and earned a new deal. Always cool to see that.

Trent Cole tweeted a few minutes ago that he's glad to be a Cleveland Brown ... and then he just deleted it

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

I really don't understand why we want cole. Makes no sense to me. Should have just kept Sheard.

Cole is a better pass rusher, Sheard will probably get more money, Pettine seems to like veterans, etc.

There are many reasons.

Cole? At this point in his career, yes. But that's what we need. We have our two starters at outside linebacker. We need a guy that can come in and rush the passer in certain situations.

Not sure if this has been posted somewhere yet but I'm glad we didn't throw that kind of money at the guy. He's not J.J. Watt.

He's not J.J. Watt, but no one is. Suh has been a top five defensive player the entire time he's been in the league.
