It is going to be a good show I think Clem, but it is very slow. So far I'm interested and think it has great potential, but again the first two episode were slow.

I think it's because of how much info they had to drop. We had a ton of characters to introduce, each with their own angle to the story.

Then again, this may end up being the pace of the show. I heard an interview with the writer just last week. He was glowing about "not having to rush through a story" like he did when writing for episodic TV.

I think it might pick up... but we may just have to adjust our internal clocks to enjoy it.

A lot of people had a similar complaint about "Marvel's Agents of SHIELD", which stared out slower, introducing characters and building the world around the characters ..... but which really picked up steam a great deal from the middle of the 1st season on.

Walking Dead this past Sunday was brutally graphic.

My wife said "Can you change it? This is making me nauseous".

And then I explained this is exactly how I feel when she watches anything on TLC, especially "Sister Wives" or "Say Yes to the Dress".

And no, I didn't change it.

Funniest thing I heard today, while watching Talking Dead, was the trending hashtag, everyone ate Chris.

Or when the host Chris said "maybe the most disturbing thing about this episode is that Dub-Step survived the Apocalypse"

I chuckled at that too.

I have always been into comedy shows, and I have a list of shows:

(In no particular order)

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Southpark
Key and Peele
The League
Louie (not sure if it's still on)
Archer
Trailer Park Boys
Portlandia
Wilfred (American version)

**also for those who know Adult Swim, and like the weird stuff**

Here's that stuff, and I must say; I don't tune in too often anymore, so there's probably a lot of recommendations that are no longer being run, as the Williams Street line-up changes pretty frequently....

Anyhows:

Moral Orel
12oz. Mouse
Aqua Teen Hunger Force
Super jail (by far, one of my favorite animated shows ever created.....EVER!!)
The Boondocks
Metalocalypse
Robot Chicken

But recently, well, not all that recently, my gf and I began living together; and she watches fantasy and crime dramas . ...which pretty much means that I watch fantasy and crime dramas.....So, without delay, my list outside of my comedy shows (which pretty much equals her list minus a few of hers that I suffer through just to keep her happy.)

My/Her list...minus some corny selections...

Criminal Minds

Elementary

American Horror Story (though the last two seasons weren't as great.)

Supernatural (we literally watched seasons of this show lying in bed on our days off work.....though sometimes the Sam and Dean "but we're family," arguments get tiresome, and kind of corny and funny after awhile.)

Castle (love it cuz he's a smart ass, like I'm a smart ass.)

Grimm

...........................................................

and I think that's all I got today. ..

"Robot Chicken"

Forgot about this one. First time I saw it, it blew my mind.

It must have been an early "episode" and it seemed I could relate to every stop-motion skit. Freakin' hilarious!

My wife likes that show also. Must be a woman thing about getting married. I simply leave the room when it's on...

My wife actually watches all the Real Housewives garbage shows. If I HAD to compliment her it'd be for actually admitting they are garbage.

And I agree on the most recent deaths on Walking Dead. Much more graphic than normal.

And the episode before last had an animal death I considered unsettling.

One more thing on Walking Dead, did anyone catch the guy on the construction crew refer to taking a #2 as, "Sending a fax to Cleveland"?

Walking Dead was kind of crazy tonight.

I don't know what the deal is with Sasha, but I find her incredibly annoying. I normally don't like to see characters go, but it wouldn't bother me if she went.

Rick has become a little bit wacko. I don't understand why the group just can't play it cool a little bit. Well, I guess most are except for Rick. Throughout the entire series he's kind of fluctuated between normal and kind of losing his mind. He's in a losing his mind stage right now.

I get that they don't want to get too comfortable and don't want to lose their sharpness, but they've got running water, electricity, food, shelter, all in a fairly safe environment. Seems a little unrealistic to me how much they are fighting it. It's as if they would rather be without those things. Kind of silly.

I wonder what this W thing is all about and when is the guy who saved Rick in the first episode going to appear again?

It was a good episode of the Walking Dead last night, I just watched it. The week before was pretty good too, but the rest of the season was a bit on the sedate side for me.

And yes, Rick seems like he's losin' it.

All-in-all it's a decent show to watch.

Agreed. Writing is kind of kooky right now. If these 2 groups can't make it work then they're morons.

Unless it's pretty good symbolism for real society.

Anyone see that documentary on HBO about scientology (I refuse to capitalize it) called Going Clear?

Wow.

"Going Clear"?

You've gotta be kiddin'.

Seems to me the whole point of Scientology is to obfuscate the concepts of a "supreme being" and "life after death".

Gee... Scientologists must be really smart.(just ask Tom Cruise - he's a genius)

Or John Travolta for that matter.

But really the church is really not happy with that at all. And heard they want to have that prevented from going on HBO.

When you figure they were on a farm that got overrun, and then lived in a prison where a crazy man tore down the fences with a tank, I can understand their paranoia. It would seem to me that when you have something worth keeping in that world, you would worry most about someone trying to take it from you. The Alexandrians are little more than targets and walker food as I see them.

jc...

Walking Dead question: How much time has passed since stuff went south? How long has Alexandria been there? It seems completely unrealistic to me that the Alexandrians have survived this long being that dumb and helpless. I'm not big on trying to tear shows down for lack of realism...I try to enjoy them for their entertainment value...but this one is a headscratcher to me. How in the world have they survived this long?

And we finally got a little preview for the spinoff...or prequel...whatever they are calling it. Can't wait for that. Looks like it's going to be good.

It's a bunch of interviews with former high-ranking people within that "church". They completely expose the corruption, violence and HORRIBLE things (prison camps, sex slaves, etc) that happen within it. All while raking in TONS of cash under tax-exempt status.

If there are any scientolgists on this board, you REALLY should watch it and rethink your involvement.

It's completely frightening.

I wonder where they got the helium for the red balloon that was tied to the little play boat on the pond?

Seems to me if you're out trying to find supplies, a big helium tank might not be the wisest choice.

I would say we're at about 2 1/2 to 3 years. Rick got shot, and I figure a month's healing time. Rick's wife got pregnant shortly after the zombie outbreak, and the kid looks to be about 1, as she's sitting up on her own.

Alexandria is a self sufficient community, with solar power and cisterns. It was also stated that the entire DC area was evacuated before the outbreak (that is probably the most unrealistic part). Their problem is that they little experience outside their walls. They also have a code where you save yourself and leave people behind when things go wrong. They have really wanted for little, and they've been basically using up supplies while hiding behind a wall. That community would have had to been well stocked before things went south.

BTW, the spinoff show looks to be taking place in Los Angeles, so it's mostly a different group going through some of the same stuff. Personally, if I was leading a group in that mess, I would have pushed for moving to a remote area like Wyoming, instead of into a city. It seems logical to me that you'd want to avoid big cities.
