It's standard. Everyone coming from another team undergoes a physical.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

I remember people (myself included) either being very confused by the Hughes pick or completely lambasting it. It turned out pretty good.

I really like Hughes & hope he can stay healthy next year.
Signing him to a long term deal now was smart.
Another good reason we saved so much money this week? Re-signing our own guys.

I actually like this move. I really like hughes. ..problem is we have a head coach who is clueless when it comes to stopping the run

We had injuries all over our defensive line left and right last year. Rubin, Hughes, Taylor, Winn, and Armonty Bryant. All of those guys were injured and missed games at some point last year. I don't think we had the same starting group more than two games in a row. Not really sure how that falls on Pettine?

I love this move. I think that Hughes will be a star in Pettine's system as he learns and acclimates.

Pettine coordinatoed defenses have traditionally not been good against the run.
2014 - 32 2013 - 28 2012 - 26 2011 - 13 2010 - 3 2009 - 8
They are always excellent against the pass though.

I dig it. John getting hurt last year was a big blow (of many blows) to the defensive line. Now, can we teach Hughes and company to freaking plug up the run game? Please?

THIS is the type of signing I love seeing. Getting to a guy a year out of free agency the team drafted and lock him up long term. I know it's not a flashy signing but it is calculated, not expensive and it keeps an important piece to the defensive line. Very happy with this and wish similar deals would happen like this more often.
I love seeing a fellow Cincinnati alum get his due!
Congrats, John

I hope you are right. Injuries may be the culprit, but we could use a Shelton type. Congrats, big fella!

I really like Winn and hope his time comes for an extension w/ this team too. But a comment like that (if referring to the Hughes ext.) is not said, IMO, without prior concerns or conflict. If Billy thought he was in a good place and expected to be taken care of, or at a minimum, things are even keel, I don't think a comment like that would have been been put on twitter. But athletes say dumb stuff all the time on Twitter, I guess.

The page for the tweet isn't working.. so I don't know what you are saying here. If the only comment was "got works in mysterious ways" I don't know how that means he's not happy about the signing.. What did I miss?

Another good reason we saved so much money this week? Re-signing our own guys. Like Skrine and Sheard? With that said, I like the signing. Good move by the Browns. I did not like it when Heckert drafted him that high, however, the guy has exceeded my expectations and was a solid pick. I think Hughes is a better player than Taylor.

I'm curious...how is Hughes better that Taylor? I'm not saying he isn't better but it's clear to me, they were drafted for completely different roles. How does that make one better than the other?

Did you miss the part where I gave Heckert a compliment? Just wondering........because yesterday you lied about me never saying I complimented for players like Grecco and Gipson. So, I just need to hear you acknowledge that you read what I wrote..........so you don't lie again in the future if I say something like I have admitted to being wrong about Hughes and I now think he was a solid pick. Wanna own up that you saw it? Or, will you ignore it?
Why do I think Hughes is better than Taylor? I think his gap integrity is much better. He doesn't get sealed as easily. He has much better endurance. He is more technically sound. He stops the run much better. He plays team defense better. He doesn't get as many stupid penalties.
Does that answer your question?

Oh no, I definitely didn't lie. You never said a good thing about anything that regime did (except for Billy Winn) although it resulted in multiple pro-bowlers and all-pros. The unfortunate thing is I cannot prove your lies. It was all on the old board. But I know that you know. And that is all that really matters.
