If you don't have the will to close the border, well then I guess anything goes. Sad.
If I ran the Country, the border would be closed with mines, wire, dogs, tanks, drones and GLBT's.

I agree that the process to become a citizen is too stringent. But again with weird things....
the government makes it crazy hard to become a citizen, yet they make soooo easy to come here illegally and provide benefits for those that do come here illegally. its a double standard and a message to anyone that "we dont want you to come here legally."
MAYBE its hard to come into the country because it SHOULD be hard to come into the country. Background checks, fingerprinting, etc.

Well my point was a drivers license for illegals is documentation of their existence in America which serves us all. Secondly, this is 1day's thread so where you want to steer it is of no concern. Start your own thread if you want to lead. I would say that my intention of the thred was to open up discussion not only on the topic, but to the general idea of illegals in the country. But yes, it seems a bit of a loose idea that having a documented drivers license for "undocumented" workers is a little weird. I believe it is a back door to make them documented adn get their vote That's fine. I just tend to be very detail oriented. So when you post a topic about DLs for illegals, and the article is about DLs for Illegals IN CONNECTICUT. I tend to try to stay on topic of talking about the 3 illegals in Connecticut, they want to give licenses to.  My wife is all over the place in conversations, I have to remind her to give me a segue if she is making an abrupt subject change. Otherwise I don't understand why we need to get new bath towels, while on the way to the airport for vacation. What, the hotel you picked doesn't have towels?

My wife can cover 4 subjects on just a 5 mile drive......but she never tells me "new subject". Something as simple as a text she gets switches her mind to that topic - even though I have no clue what the text was about.
Like this - driving up town. Conversation about our daughters game:
Me: She's just got to get her confidence back. 1 wallop will do it.
Wife: Yeah, she seems a bit timid at the plate this year.
Me: The team they are playing has a good pitcher, she'll put the ball over the plate. Sooga will smack one today.
BEEP: wife gets a text.
Me: Last year she had a great game against this team.
Wife: Well, they aren't coming.
Me: What? There's no game?
Wife: Honestly, you don't know what I'm talking about?
Me: The game. That's what we were talking about.
Wife: No, I told you last week that we might be having so and so over tomorrow night. You honestly don't remember that conversation??? You NEVER listen to me.
Me, in my head: Oh.
Me: You changed subjects pretty quick.
Wife: Well, I just got the text.
Me: Oh.

The Connecticut DMV has started a Drive Only program for undocumented individuals who are 16 and older and cannot establish their legal presence in the United States or may not have a Social Security number. The process involves applying for a learner's permit that can then lead to a drive-only license. Learner's permits are now required of all new license applicants regardless of age. The Drive Only license program is authorized under Public Act 2013-89.
Seriously?! Instead of giving an ILLEGAL a drivers license, how about when they come to get one, you boot there butt out of the country! AMEN put 10 of them in a yugo and make them drive their ass back across the boarder.
