I have said this more than once...if we give up 12 & 19 to move up to 2 or close...I hope its to get Leonard Williams and nobody else. Not one cause then I think we have to take Winston.

You can't predict how we would of played in a system he's never learned.. Isn't that pretty much what every NFL scout, pundit, and fan is trying to do right now? Yes.
Am I the only one that pronounces hyperbole "Hyper-bowl" instead of "hy-per-bo-le"?

With the supporting cast that Winston had his freshman year he would have run that offense as well if not better. If Winston could do it as a freshman so could Mariota.
The point is simple. Mariota is a better prospect than Winston. I can assure you Winston could not have run the Oregon offense. While Mariota has the skills to run any offense he is given to run.

Plus, if we draft Mariota just think how cool it would be to go on vacation to Hawaii and have Honolulu flooded with people wearing Browns gear!
Am I perfect? No Am I trying to be a better person? Also no

Not sure if you're being serious or sarcastic, I'll give you serious. *tips cap*
He looked much better in the Bowl Game vs. Nebraska than he did against Arizona St. Manhandled a 6'5", 305 Sr Guard pretty much all game. Looked much more explosive and decisive. Still slow off the snap. I can better see the intrigue. Need to watch more tape of Williams and see what I can dig up on Mike Moudy (Neb's RG) and his getting rag dolled. I haven't studied this draft. I typically do, but this draft bores me. I am so disappointed w/what transpired after last year's draft.......just never could get into this one. I was being serious. I don't know much about this draft and I appreciated your analysis. Not being sarcastic at all.

It definitely was easy to be disappointed with the results of the first round last year in year one, but I keep reminding myself that there is still time for them to turn it around. They both had more than the usual factors against them. Positions with a steeper learning curve than most, new coaching staff, new systems even for the vets, ridiculous hype/attention, though none of those excuses their issues entirely. However, I have seen positive strides this offseason. If they continue that direction things could work themselves out.
The whole book isn't written yet on Gilbert, Manziel, or Bridgewater for that matter. Which would you rather have a solid, but not spectacular Bridgewater who plays that way throughout his career, or a Manziel that starts awful, and slowly but steadily improves to game changer? Not saying that's what will happen, but those are the jedi mind tricks I try to pull to keep myself interested.

I look at Bridgewater differently than most of you. You guys say he is solid. Unspectacular. No upside. I say he is one of the most intelligent and hardest working qbs out there. You have guys like Rodgers, Brees, Big Ben, Manning, Rivers, Brady, Wilson, etc..........all different shapes and sizes w/different physical skill sets, yet they all have one thing in common.... ....Football intelligence. And Teddy is a great example of that. People ignored what he did during games because of a pro day when he had an injured wrist. How smart is that? Do you believe that Minni is considering drafting a qb to challenge him? The guy is going to be a good qb for a long, long time. You put him on a team like Seattle, Denver, or San Fransisco........and he is winning playoff games and Super Bowls now! Freaking Minni sucks. One of the least talented teams in the entire NFL. Teddy carried that team. He is going to be better than solid. Guaranteed.

I wasn't going for substance, I was going for head tilted, eyes squinted, staring at the sun I could possibly see this scenario working out.
I like Bridgewater, but I'm not as high on him as you. Most intelligence and hardest working are well and good, but some people said the same things about Hoyer. I'll be the first to admit I didn't watch a lot of the Vikings last year, but I did watch a lot of NFL and all the highlights I could find. I didn't really see any "Wow" moments that the truly great ones have. I didn't see an Aaron Rodgers one leg, falling away, 40-yard frozen rope moment.
I never said that he has no upside, I just presented the possibility that he could plateau as a solid QB.
As far as Minni drafting a QB to challenge him, you are just being silly. I have trouble talking myself into one of the QBs in this draft turning into so much as a solid QB, definitely not right away.
I agree he could turn into a Trent Dilfer type super bowl QB, but I don't see the Browns as that sort of team last year or this if I'm realistic. I see him as more of a Chad Pennington, Potentially Eli Manning ceiling than a true upper echelon guy.
On a great team he could have potentially snuck his way into the elite conversation with enough rings, but he didn't end up in that situation. He ended up on the Vikings, and I don't see the Browns situation as all that much better (especially considering our receiving options).
I'd definitely like to see him play in a playoff game before I went making guarantees. Not that it's outside the realm of possibilities that he is better than solid, but he's going to have to show me more before I truly believe it.
