This is probably my fav movie if not one of my top three ever:

(No Country for Old Men, just in case you never saw it.)

I also loved - believe it or not - Schindler's List. If a movie can make me cry then it's got me.

As far as my favorite comedies go, I would have to pick either The Jerk or Napoleon Dynamite. (If you saw Napoleon Dynamite and didn't find it funny, you probably weren't picked on in school.)

Yes, Spergon FTWynn, when Jaws originally came out it freakin' excellent! I was a young kid then, saw it in the theater. God was it fun/scary/exciting to watch!

Best all-time scary movie? The Exorcist.

I saw parts of it when I was a kid and probably shouldn't had, as it really freaked me out at the time.

I dunno what it is about that movie, but it did absolutely nothing for me. I just saw it for the first time in the last year.

Can't even blame it on the era, because I consider the 70's a golden era of horror.

I was laughing more than anything when the little was calling her mom names.

and btw, Fury Road goes on my list. Hot damn that movie was awesome. I recommend it to anyone.

sorry the scariest movie ever made is Hellraiser 2... whish they would redo it with better effects.

But the story itself... too believable to me..to close to home, guess that is why it scares me so.

Braveheart
Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves
The Princess Bride
Cars
Rush
E.T.
Ferris Bueller
Ghostbusters

Christmas Vacation
Die Hard
Die Hard 2
Big
A Christmas Story
Caddyshack
The Shining
Clue
Goonies

(and there are more, but this is all I can think of right now) LOL!

Totally forgot these;
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (Both the American and Swedish versions)
The Girl Who Played with Fire
The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest

The American versions of the last 2 haven't been done yet, although I hear Played with Fire is in the works.

Don't mess with Lisbeth!!

These are movies I'll watch anytime, every time:

The Shawshank Redemption

Lord of the Rings trilogy

Jurassic Park 1

A Boy and His Dog (starring a young, YOUNG Don Johnson. Based on the writings of Harlan Ellison, one of my faves)

A Clockwork Orange

Marathon Man

Bird (directed by Clint Eastwood, a loose biopic about the life of Charlie "Bird" Parker, legendary Jazz saxophonist)

Mo' Better Blues (Love seeing Denzel W play a totally flawed character)

Caught the last half of Field of Dreams last night on TV ... one of my favorite sports movies of all time. If you don't cry at the end of the movie I'm impressed.

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

They're remaking the original Hellraiser and rumors has it that Clive Barker himself is heading up production.

JMO but none of the several Hellraisers were scary. Hellraiser 2 was by far the best outta the series.

Scariest movie ever... hmmm! For me I'd have to say Steven King's It or Exorcist or Grave Encounters. Grave Encounters was freaky!

I'm kind of tired of remakes of old horror movies.

I saw the Poltergeist remake over the holiday weekend and it was AWFUL.

A couple of horror movies I really enjoyed recently for those interested....

As above, so below -- Very creepy and intense found footage movie. The acting, suspense and production value is solid enough to keep you engaged, and the main plot and back story is actually really interesting. You'll find yourself really interested by the middle of the movie.

It Follows -- This movie doesn't go for cheap scares. It has a very retro 80's style feel to it. It's more of a creepy and grotesque kind of story with very eerie music, cinematography and disturbing images. The acting and dialogue is kind of sub-par, but overall it's a very high quality horror movie. It's different, which is good.

Insidious -- Cheap scare ghost story, but done really well in my opinion. The second one wasn't nearly as good.

Grave Encounters -- Found footage style movie. I thought it was really creep with a handful of tense moments and good scares. I'm sure those of you who have seen this will differ in opinion. They made a sequel, it wasn't very good.
