Interesting that no one mentioned Hoosiers... I guess I liked it because of the improbability of something like that happening.
We're so far behind on recent movies, we're yet to see American Sniper and some of the ones people have been mentioning in their posts.
It's cool to see everyone's favorites. Some of the list are pretty good gauges of age and personality, I think.

I always enjoyed the actors' names, too.
Several years ago, The Band did what's known as a 'back to back'... a rehearsal followed shortly by a concert. During the break, we were treated with some noshes in the hospitality room. Among the refreshments: bottled water. The brand was "Deja Blue." I mentioned that it sounded like a stripper's name, and the conversation went downhill fast after that.
All around the table, folks started volunteering what their 'Porn Star Name' might be. Follows, a short list of the ones I can remember:
Rock Johnson Rod Steele Harry Dangler (our bassist is 70 years old...)
I of course had to chime in: "At the bank, they call me Mr. Hammer, but my friends call me Jack"...
...but my fave came from our harpist- a very sweet, well-mannered lady.
"I think my name would be... Cherry Turnover."
12 people on the floor. Tears. Aching ribs.
It was very hard to play that concert with a straight face.

Anyone seen the trailer for the new Vacation movie? Supposed to be Rusty Griswold taking his family on a cross country road trip vacation. The movie looks absolutely hilarious in my own personal opinion. Vacation preview via YouTube

It's such a cornball concept for a movie, yet I can't change the channel when it's on. Considering Norman Dale ran such a small rotation of guys, maybe it's something the Cavs should watch before Tuesday's game.

Not a 'fave all-time'... but one The Wife & I took in this past weekend. An entertaining mainstream film of newer vintage, it hasn't gotten a lot of press/buzz, but it works. Fun cast, smooth star, slick plot, and a stylish look.
"Focus" starring Will Smith. A cute young street hustler meets a master con artist, and is welcomed into his team of grifters. Smith puts in another strong performance as "Mello"... 3rd generation con artist, and underworld legend. Lead actress (Margot Robbie) is a smart combination of sass, sexiness, and street savvy... with just a touch of "gee-whiz" schoolgirl naivete.
Relax, sit back, and let the movie do all the work. Smart, funny dialogue, nice quick pace, and a satisfying end. Gerald McRainey puts in a fun, quirky performance in a supporting role.
This will probably never make anyone's short list, but it's a fun way to kill a couple hours on a rainy weekend afternoon.
p.s. After watching this movie, you'll probably never want to go to another big public event again.... (hehe)

I've seen "Focus" Clem. It's clever and keeps you wondering. ----------------------- If I had to pick an absolute favorite that would mean it's a movie I would be happy to watch at anytime. "Safety Last" 1923 Here's IMDb's synopsis: When a store clerk organizes a publicity stunt, in which a friend climbs the outside of a tall building, circumstances force him to make the perilous climb himself. Directors: Fred C. Newmeyer (as Fred Neymeyer) , Sam Taylor Writers: Hal Roach (story), Sam Taylor (story) Stars: Harold Lloyd, Mildred Davis, Bill Strother The stunts are breathe taking and hilarious. You might be familiar with the picture _01.jpg)
