I'd grab tebow over what we have as our back up QB's right now. He looks a lot better than he used to.

I absolutely HATE the idea of having Tebow on this team, but I have to agree that I'd rather have him than Thad Lewis as the #3 QB.

There is zero chance that I'd put him above anyone else on the roster, however.

I would take Tebow over Manziel. But that's just me.

To play QB????
Manziel may suck, but at least he isn't Tebow-bad (although, he was about dead even with Tebow's abilities at the end of last season). For real.

I just don't see anything in Manziel.

Talent - I think they are fairly even. Push

Off field - Tebow is criticized off the field for being too much of a goody-goody while Manziel is criticized for being a party guy (granted he is working on that image) - advantage Tebow.

Intangibles - Tebow will will a team to one or two victory a season. I don't see that from Manziel. Advantage Tebow

per Jay Glazer and Ian Rappaport, the Cardinals and Bruce Arians have traded a draft pick for Matt Barkley.

And YTown's head just exploded, lol.

I put it in this thread because it means Tebow makes the Eagles' 53.

Why does Tebow continue to get so much press even from our board...sad, a 3rd string QB from the NFC who has zero ties to our club

Perhaps. I just don't think Manziel is very talented.

He doesn't have a quick release, his accuracy is so-so, his arm isn't that strong, he doesn't excel at reading defenses, his escapability is overrated (yes it was good in college but he has failed to show that in the NFL - Tebow's is better).

What about Manziel suggests that he is a significantly better talent?

We can certainly disagree.

If Manziel turns into an average or better starting NFL Qb then I'll buy you a beer, or cup of coffee (I'll even upsize it to a venti).

Crazy.

Arians offense is one that pushes the ball down the field, and Barely is a WR screen pro.

My head would only have exploded if we would have traded for him.

Maybe we can trade for Matt Simms. His backwards pass 15 yards into his own backfield while being spun around by a tackler was just epic. rofl

If it's good enough for Terrence West ...

Tim Tebow
Reportedly Spotted at Airport

... Eagles Mum on Status
9/4/2015 12:32 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF
breaking news

0904-tim-tebow-twitter-01Tim Tebow's NFL career is up in the air -- maybe literally -- because he was reportedly spotted at the airport in Philly moments ago ... and now everyone's wondering, DID HE GET CUT???

Our friends at CrossingBroad.com posted the photo (sent by @CrimJimmegan) -- which appears to show Tebow walking through the airport with his bags. It doesn't necessarily mean he's been cut, but it's got everyone buzzing.

After the way he balled out last night, most people thought he'd make the squad -- but you never know with the NFL.

We called the Philadelphia Eagles and spoke with multiple people -- but Eagles staffers kicked us around and no one would tell us Tim's current status with the team.

Stay tuned ...

It makes no sense to carry three QBs. Especially if that third QB is Tebow. If the Eagles actually get down to their third QB (which is not out of the question given Bradford's injury history), then Tebow will still be available. No one else is signing him.

Nothing that Johnny Manziel has done at the professional level supports this opinion. Tebow has performed and won at the professional level, including a playoff win. Manziel has not. It may not be a slam dunk in either direction, but it is most definitely "arguable".

Let's just say that neither player can read a defense (which we know Tebow cannot do, but as of right now we don't know that about Manziel).

There is no one who actually believes Tebow has a better arm, in any way, than Manziel. Unless they are trolling, which is a possibility.

For entertainment purposes, yes to Tebow. But we know what he is, Manziel is at least still an unknown.

I didn't saw Tebow was more talented than Manziel. What I actually said was that talent wise I think they are fairly even and called it a push

Reminder: Tebow has completed 48% of his passes in his career while only throwing it 6.7 yards per attempt.

Drew Stanton had the lowest completion percentage in the NFL last year (among qualified starters), it was 55%.

6.7 yards per attempt would have been tied for 31st in the league last year.

So Tebow doesn't/can't throw deep AND can't complete short passes. Tebow is really, really, really bad at throwing footballs.

Manziel was atrocious in his small amount of playing time last year. Even he still completed 51% of his passes.

Not sure if this is what you are implying, but I also never made the suggestion that we bring him in.

I don't think Tebow will ever be a good NFL Qb. But I don't think Manziel will either.

Tim Tebow has won NFL games, including a playoff game. He has had actual, real-time NFL success. I'm talking about results, not stats.

I am out too, after this last point.

Manziel was 18 for 35

If one of those completions is an incompletion he is 17 for 35 which is 48%

So not a significant difference between Tebow's 48% and Manziel's 51%

Barkly just got traded so it looks like Tebow will be staying on at Philly.

According to the NFL Network, Tebow has just been released.

Not here. Why would we? He has failed as a QB for 4 different teams, and despite showing some mechanical improvement with the Eagles, he has still been horribly inconsistent. He ks inaccurate, and really shows no ability as a starting QB in the NFL. If he had wanted to try as a FB or TE, then I might have taken a shot with him early on in training camp ..... but not now.
