So i turn 28 in August, and man....i just feel beat.

I don't even go out like that anymore.

My version of "turning up" is getting drunk/high, playing GTA or other PS4 games and watching Netflix.

being an Adult sucks.

There's a huge difference and getting old and maturing. As we go through life, our interests, what we enjoy doing and our perspective on things change. Often times that's a good thing. I know from reading the board that you began selling cars not so long ago.

Sometimes the structure of our life changes things as well. Maybe being a little bit more of a home body on the week ends isn't such a bad thing. It gives your body and mind time to heal, rest and relax.

Believe me Bud, at 28 you're not getting old. lol

Let me do some math:

You'll be my age in 30 years (I'm 58).

THAT'S 2045

And guess what?

Once you get there, today will only seem a year or two ago.

As far as you thinkin' 28 sucks, I recommend you do stuff easy to do in your prime. You don't have to necessarily stop drinkin' and smokin'.

Put down the remote.

Bodybuild, run a marathon, climb a mountain. When I was 38 I went through the 2 1/2 month training and became a Certified Firefighter I. (me and a dozen 20-year-olds - they thought I was nuts)(Of course I was)

i think i just need a break.

It's called life - although you shouldn't be feeling old at age 27.

You feeling "physically" old, or "mentally" old?

Get some rest. Thursday evening I went to bed at 9. T.V. off by 9:15. Woke up Friday half an hour before my alarm. Felt great.

Daughter is done with school. No more waking her up at 7. (I get up at 6:20). No - now, M, W, F. I have to get her up at 6:15 to be ready for weight training at 7. So much for my old butt getting a bit of a break.

If you're feeling old - take care of yourself.

Get your sleep. Getting enough sleep can make the difference in your energy levels.

Set aside 30 minutes to 60 minutes a day to unwind before dinner. Then go to bed within 2 hours of eating dinner. You will sleep a lot better and you won't wake up with very low blood sugar.

Stay away from simple carbs for breakfast. Eat those eggs and bacon with some grapefruit. Having protein with a little fat for breakfast will really help you not to eat sugary foods all day. Eating 1 cup of blueberries or dark cherries after every big meal will also help your body break down your food and digest it better, as well as, helping your body get rid of sugar spikes.

If your muscles are tense and achy a lot start eating a lot of bananas and spinach. They are both great for rejuvenating muscles. If you're working out in the heat a lot and sweating from it then try making some fried potatoes but use coconut oil. Adding sesame seeds or sunflower seeds to those potatoes can help a lot too. You can add extra salt to your diet when you're sweating a lot because when you sweat your body uses up a lot of salt.

You can't fix stupid but you can destroy ignorance. When you destroy ignorance you remove the justifications for evil. If you want to destroy evil then educate our people. Hate is a tool of the stupid to deal with what they can't understand.

I'm 28 and can sympathize with Swish in some regards. While I've never drank/smoked, I do definitely feel myself aging. I exercise every day in some manner, but it's not as effortless as it was 5 years ago. And there are days where I feel very worn down ... but maybe that's because I'm a Browns fan smile

If I'm ever able to find a wife and have children, maybe those new experiences/challenges would help switch stuff up as well.

I'm 26 and tired of rotating shifts. At least you don't have to do that! I've been working 3-11 PM for a solid 9 months (easier to go to school that way), got off at 23:00 on Friday and have to be at work for third shift at 23:00 today.

Some day I'll get off of this grind. I've been up all night so I can now go to bed and be worth a damn tonight. What happens in a year and a half and I'm 28, though? Do I fall asleep in my vegetable puree in the break room? tongue

It is all pretty simple, from the day we are born we begin to die. Enjoy the journey as much as you can but in the end you will continue to fall apart and things will break down and one day it will all be fatal.

Have a nice day.

Have you had a physical with Blood done, you'd be surprised how even at 28 hormone levels can get out of whack. You should still have alot of energy at 28. I'm 10 more than that and still bodybuild and play in a full contact football league and train MMA, I still have alot of energy, its usually the recovery part that catches up with me if I do too much..lol. Seriously, get bloodwork done, might be something simple making you feel lethargic. I had a cousin that had to go on HRT at 30. Hope you figure it out

I turn 43 tomorrow. Some days I feel 28. Then I hang out with 28 year olds and remember I'm in my forties.

28 years old and you don't have energy? Dude, get to the doctor, find out what's up cause that just doesn't seem right to me.

At 28 I had a ton of energy... At 63, it's waning.

Something may be wrong, get it checked out.

Marijuana is a depressant and stays in your system long after the buzz is gone. I smoked a lot until my early 20's, and couldn't believe the energy, motivation and mental sharpness I had after I stopped. At the time, I didn't realize the effects it had on me...and if someone were to point them out I would have attributed it to something else (i.e. working long hours, not enough sleep, crappy diet, etc.) Take a month or two off and see if you notice a difference.

It sounds to me that you already are old. Time to pack it in and join the rest of the conservatives.

At 28 I was still playing pickup tackle football. I broke 2 fingers, 2 ribs, and my nose some 20 odd times. I should have been playing rugby. I actually believe I was out of my apartment more than I was in it.

I'd be out bowling, throwing darts, shooting pool, beer rules softball (knocking over a beer is a force out for alcohol abuse), or going to watch sports.

After that there were special trips like Appalachian Trail hikes and whitewater rafting on the New River, or vacations out of town.

Yes.

I agree a zillion percent. Marijuana is what I call the slow demotivating drug, at least for some. After awhile it just burns some of us out.

...And I'd take two or three months off instead of just one or two, if you can. Note: That's not always that easy to do, especially if you're a daily smoker.

From what you posted, it sounds like you've already been doing just that. I've been there, you sound like me 30yrs ago. Stop the weed for a short period of time and see if it makes a difference. That shouldn't be a problem... it is after all a harmless, non-addictive substance, right? wink The worst thing that can happen is you'll save some scratch.
