We are in agreement on this one. Holy cow! Vers and Ytown agree. Guess that means the Browns are going to win the Super Bowl because hell just froze over! LOL We agree from time to time, it's just that we battle out the disagreements pretty strongly. Here's an interesting article from CBS ..... LOOK: Did LeBron James and Kevin Love have a meeting Sunday? - CBSSports.com http://www.cbssports.com/nba/eye-on-bask...-meeting-sundayThere's a lot of confusion about where Kevin Love will end up. LeBron James opted out of his deal for next year with the Cavaliers, but is unanimously expected to re-sign with Cleveland. Love, though, had questions about his fit with the team, where they were headed, his relationship with LeBron and his teammates, and if Cleveland was the best place for him. He's answered those questions publicly by saying he planned to re-sign with Cleveland, but rumors have persisted he's thinking about signing elsewhere. James opted out on Sunday. That same day, allegedly, this photo popped up on social media with what appears to be Kevin Love and LeBron James at a pool-side meeting. James is known to have these kinds of meeting right about this time. He met with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in 2010 around this point, and with Wade and Bosh approximately this time last year. So there's no way of knowing what the meeting would be about if that is indeed those two. Maybe they're just hanging out by the pool talking about how awesome it is to be multi-millionaire athletes who get to hang out by a pool all day wearing an orange tanktop and a white hoodie. (Love really needs to stop wearing the flat-brim hats. He wore them a lot during the Finals and it drove me nuts whenever I looked at him.) Or they could be talking about how much Love is going to make with the Cavs or if he should leave or how to solve their problems. They could be choosing a new coach. They could be exchanging recipes. Here's all we know: Two dudes, who look like LeBron James and Kevin Love, were hanging out by a pool together Sunday. That's it. Of course, last year I thought Cavs fans were nuts for tracking Dan Gilbert's plane to Miami and that turned out to be the secret meeting that brought James back to Cleveland. Crazy stuff happens in the NBA. Insert shrug emoji here. (UPDATE: ESPN reports the two were just hanging out. Would be weird if the subject of their playing together didn't come up, though, right? If nothing else, it splashes water on the "they don't like each other" idea.)
Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

^ Sitting by a pool together, that's good news.
When I read the reports that Lebron wasn't going to recruit anyone and just sit back, I didn't believe that. I think he wants fans to think he's not the involved, but he's really the assistant GM.

LOL, Windhorst reports that Lebron and Love were just "hanging out", and not having a free agent meeting. Yeah ... you're about as connected as a Commodore 64 now Windy.

That's really disconnected, but I'd one up that and say 'Timex Sinclair 1000'! Remember that thing? I knew a guy who was really good with Basic Language and he made Activisions Pitfall on that thing. It was so slow the screen went blank between every frame of animation!
WE DON'T NEED A QB BEFORE WE GET A LINE THAT CAN PROTECT HIM my two cents...

Timex Sinclair 1000'! Remember that thing? I had one of those before we "upgraded" to the Commodore 64. I belonged to a nerdy computer club that used to get together once a month to burn games from each other. Nowadays, that is straight up piracy, lol. I don't think my features would have held up well in prison....

Interesting. Is he taking JR's roster spot? I saw last night that Mike Miller opted in, we knew he would because nobody else would offer him a contract.

The team is targeting a vet PG, on top of trying to re-sign current players to big deals. Lebron can't get EVERYTHING he wants, can he?

Maybe he can do somewhat what Dirk Nowitzki did and accept less money so we have have a chance at making the moves. I don't see LBJ doing that though.

I don't see LBJ doing that though. At this point, we are so far over the cap, I'm not sure it would even help if Lebron took the league minimum. That would probably put us right at the cap. It's not even Lebron that's clogging the space, it's everyone. $10 mil for Varejao, $15 mil for Kyrie, $17m for Love, $6m for JR, $5m for Mozgov ... it just all adds up.

only thing we can do is the Mini MLE and using haywoods expiring, we can bring back 14 million in salary with his contract. That could get us a decent 2 or backup pg.

Why can't we set up some sort of "booster" organization like they have in high school and college athletics? I mean have a car dealership kick in a few million in "endorsements" to players we want to sign and then have Gilbert buy all of his employees in Cleveland a nice new car at sticker...or have a realestate developer kick in a few and then have Gilbert buy all of his card dealers a new condo...this would be a huge boon for the local economy AND we'd get whatever players we want!

Well this could be interesting: http://www.cbssports.com/nba/eye-on-bask...FTAG=YHF7e3228eSpittler or Diaw PLUS Patty Mills for Haywood? Swap out a useless contract for two useful players? We'd have an 12 deep bench. Though San Antonio would have a "Big 5" ... Aldridge, Duncan, Ginobli, Parker and Leonard.

Report: Spurs and Cavs discussing trade involving Brendan Haywood By Zach Harper | NBA writer June 30, 2015 3:56 pm ET In order for the San Antonio Spurs to truly beef up their attack and grab LaMarcus Aldridge without having to part ways with Tim Duncan, Kawhi Leonard, and Danny Green, they need to find a way to shed a significant amount of money. The way they can do that is by moving someone like Tiago Splitter or Boris Diaw and not bring back in money in return for the deal. In order to do that, you need to get back a non-guaranteed deal of eight figures. The Cleveland Cavaliers have one of those in Brendan Haywood. His $10.5 million for next season aren't guaranteed, which makes him a prime trade candidate this offseason. According to Mike Monroe of the San Antonio Express-News, the Cavs and Spurs are discussing a trade for Haywood's contract, which would then help the Spurs make the biggest splash of the offseason. A deal of either Splitter ($8.5 million) or Diaw ($7.5 million) along with Patty Mills ($3.5 million) could work for Haywood, and then the Spurs could waive the center for extra cap space. If that happens and the market breaks just right for San Antonio, they could add Aldridge, retain Green, give a pay cut to Duncan, and re-sign Leonard. They'd likely have to renounce the free agent rights of Cory Joseph and Marco Belinelli. They're also waiting for a decision on Manu Ginobili and whether or not he'll retire. For the Cavs, they'd either add to their big man depth (and luxury tax bill) or they could flip the big man they acquire in the trade for some help on the wings. Mills could help them with a scoring point guard off the bench, or they could then hope Cory Joseph would sign with them as the backup point guard. Joseph is repped by Rich Paul -- LeBron James and Tristan Thompson's agent. If a trade along these lines happens, the Spurs would probably become the definitive winners of the offseason within the first few days. http://www.cbssports.com/nba/eye-on-bask...FTAG=YHF7e3228e

In an effort to shore up wing depth, the Cleveland Cavaliers have reached out to the representatives of free agent small forward Tayshaun Prince, league sources informed Northeast Ohio Media Group. http://hoopshype.com/team/cleveland-cavaliers/

The Los Angeles Lakers will meet with free agent Kevin Love later this week, according to league sources. One source said the Lakers have heard Love is likely to re-sign with the Cleveland Cavaliers, but they still want to sit down with him. The meeting will be part of a busy week for the Lakers, who also will meet with LaMarcus Aldridge, DeAndre Jordan and Greg Monroe. http://hoopshype.com/team/cleveland-cavaliers/

I don't think Thompson is going to get a straight maximum contract unless he gets one from someone else first.
I tend to agree with you, but Terry Pluto's point has begun to resonate with me a bit more each day. Not to say I fully am on board with it but it is a logical POV.--- Offering Tristan a max deal now may not be what a max deal is worth after the new CBA next year. I personally don't think he is valued as a max player (particularly if Love comes back and Tristan will come off the bench) but the Lebron factor may be the straw that breaks the camel's back in the end. Both are represented by the same person and Lebron wants Tristan back. What if our second team looked like this: Mo Williams Iman Shumpert Tayshaun Prince Tristan Thompson Anderson Varejao Well, maybe Iman will have to start if JR is gone (very, very possible)

It might not be such a bad move in the long run, but the idea that we want to pay him the same contract that Kyrie is getting, but to come off the bench just doesn't sit well. We're essentially paying him long-term for one good post-season. Speaking of locking in guys to long contracts with a smaller max number. Word is that the Cavs are going to off Love a 5-year Bird max contract, and that he's likely to sign that. That would be a major signing. It would lock Love up for 5 years AND get him for a reduced "max" rate of this year's salary cap as opposed to next years. I'm wondering if Love is worried about his recent injury and just wants to get into a max-contract while he still can? He would get a much bigger contract next year, but if he were to injure himself again, he could really cost himself.

I wouldn't be surprised if Love never had been injured that he opted in this year and bet big for increased $$ next year on a max contract.

Dunleavy signs 3 year deal with Bulls Dunleavy can’t officially sign until July 9 — there is an moratorium on free agency signing until then — but the deal is in place. Dunleavy was reportedly eager to stay with the Bulls, and now he’s gotten his wish. It’s perhaps disappointing for the Cavs to miss out on an experienced, quality shooter, but Dunleavy was never likely to make it to Cleveland.

Well the West is gonna be fun. Especially if Aldridge does indeed join the Spurs. Crazy.
The Warriors might be the 3rd best team in their own conference next year even with everyone back.
