White House: We Aren't Going to Comment on Murder of Kate Steinle By 7-Time Felon Illegal Alien
| Jul 06, 2015

Speaking to reporters from the White House Monday, Press Secretary Josh Earnest refused to issued comment on the murder of Kate Steinle, who was killed by a seven-time felon illegal alien last week in the sanctuary city of San Francisco. Her killer was deported five times before taking her life and admitted he went to San Francisco because he knew he'd be able to escape federal authorities thanks to sanctuary policies.
"I can't speak to this specific case," Earnest said. "I'd refer you to DHS."
After refusing to issue comment on "this specific case," Earnest launched into an attack on Republicans for not passing President Obama's illegal immigration agenda.
Earnest also touted Obama's policy of "not tearing [illegal immigrant] families apart" while ignoring the fact Kate Steinle's family has been permanently torn apart by an illegal alien thanks to open border and lax enforcement policies at both the local and federal levels.
whats the point of living in a modern day police state if they don't .. well .. police it?!
You can't fix stupid but you can destroy ignorance. When you destroy ignorance you remove the justifications for evil. If you want to destroy evil then educate our people. Hate is a tool of the stupid to deal with what they can't understand.
A California woman was randomly attacked and killed in front of her father on a popular San Francisco pier Wednesday by a man who was mistakenly released from jail, officials said.
Kate Steinle, 32, was walking with her dad on Pier 14 on the Embarcadero when she was shot in the chest and fell to the ground at about 6:30 p.m., police said. She later died at a hospital.
“She just kept saying, ‘Dad, help me, help me,”’ her mother Liz Sullivan told the San Francisco Chronicle. “She fought for her life.I don’t think I’ve totally grasped it."
Steinle's shooter, 45-year-old Francisco Sanchez, fled as witnesses snapped pictures, police said.
The man, who is an undocumented immigrant, was jailed four months ago for illegally selling marijuana and should have been sent to federal immigration officials instead of being set free,a Department of Homeland Security official told NBC.
Sanchez was an "enforcement priority," the news station reported. He should have taken to Immigration and Custom Enforcement instead of being released from San Francisco County Jail.
Sanchez has been deported to Mexico five times, most recently in 2009, ICE spokeswomanVirginia Kice told the Daily News.
His long criminal history includes seven prior felony convictions, four involving narcotics charges.
The murder suspect was supposed to be sent to federal immigration officials after serving a multi-year federal prison stint for felony re-entry after deportation in March, Kice said.
He was instead released from San Francisco jail, and ICE was not notified.
Sanchez, who was charged with homicide Thursday and out on bond in Texas, did not speak to his victim before firing and does not appear to have a connection to her, police said.
Images captured by witnesses allowed police to track him down within the hour to a nearby restaurant — across the street from Steinle’s apartment, ABC7 reported.
Two news crews covering the arrest were robbed at gunpoint during a live broadcast Thursday.
Steinle and her dad had been taking pictures on the pier before heading to her hometown of Pleasanton, about 40 miles east of San Francisco, to meet with her brother Brad and his wife. The couple is expecting a child, and they were planning to reveal the baby's sex to Steinle.
Not all undocumented citizens are criminals. Sure, you can argue the whole "they aren't here legally so that makes them a criminal!!!", but barely anyone realizes how tough it is to get into this country.
I'm not excusing the awful acts of this individual, by the way.
Here in Oklahoma we just lost a sportscaster named Bob Barry Jr. His father was a sportscaster as well and the whole family was loved by most if not one and all in this state. Jr., father of four, out riding his motorcycle on a Saturday morning when a person pulled a u-turn in front of him, killing him. The person was an illegal, deported 3 times previously, driving without a license and had cocaine on him.
Just another story of people repeatedly entering this country illegally, breaking our laws and killing our friends and family. How many more of these stories do we need before we stop the flood of people coming across the border?

So in this case, where the guy had been deported five times and was, but for lack of execution of protocol, due to be deported again... what would you have changed policy-wise to have prevented this?
We already have laws on the books to deal with these people, enforce them. Eliminate sanctuary cities, that concept is ridiculous. Prevention probably isn't totally possible but I'd bet we can slow it down quite a bit. Finish building the fence. We were promised shovel ready jobs, well there's one for you.
just letting you know a fence isn't going to do jack crap. nor a wall.
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
I'm stating this more as a fact than an opinion or an advocation, but there is no way our country is going to build a fence to keep out our economy's cheap labor. That's just something politicians say to fire up voters.
They can and should. They can let in guest workers but at least that way we know they are here. Again, there is no perfect solution but the status quo sucks.
i get that man, but being a fence/wall is just going to waste more money. it's a feel good solution that doesn't actually do anything.
Funding the BP(border patrol)better, enforcing laws, maybe immigration reform, and cutting any and all benefits going toward illegals would do much more.
Also, lowering the cost to get a visa for people coming from countries with craptastic economies would help.
Another would be decriminalizing and legalizing drugs. that would put a massive dent in cartels, as well as lowering the rates at which illegals and drugs come into our country.
And of course this:
Something i've been debating internally with is helping Central and South American countries get better, economic wise. Since we love to be all about policing the world, maybe we should police up countries directly affecting our borders instead of messing around in Middle Eastern countries that are never going to change. More deaths and turmoil has been caused by cartels and other problems south of our border than any muslim terrorist could ever DREAM of causing.

I don't know anyone who wants to "keep people out". Everyone I know want non-citizens to go through the process of becoming a citizen.
Unfortunately the debate gets derailed by comments such as what I bolded above. That's just something politicians say to fire up voters.
It boggles my mind that we don't have an Ellis Island type of operation at our land borders.
The cost and time required to get into our country is mind bogglingly long and ridiculously expensive Roughly you wait two years and it costs anywhere between $2000-$4000. That's excluding moving expenses, plane tickets, and such like that.
In that same vein I heard of a potential solution that on the surface sounded pretty good. I've not researched, just heard about it. Annex Mexico. The US takes control and splits it up into various states, we send in our military to bring control and the US takes control of their natural resources as a way to pay for it all. We eliminate the illegal problem in one bold move. Everyone is a citizen. Everyone pays taxes.

A lot of us take our country for granted.
So...the answer is to just let everyone in without signing so much as a guest book?
I'm not offering solutions, nor do I condone of unofficial ways of getting into the country.. I'm kindly pointing out the challenges many face when they want to come here.
Sounds ok. I think though the issues arising from that would be alot of mexicans would simply move main-state side before any change happened. and that would cause a lot of problems.
I would do all that, while only making mexico an actual part of the states once the country itself had it's issues solved. basically crime would have to be lowered, at least to the level of the states, as well as the GDP would have to make sense for us to officially annex them then.
Also, as Rocket pointed out, what would we do about all the other central american countries? They cause just as many problems for us.
I would help fix their economies and yes, control natural resources, but instead of making them an actual part of the US, more inline with the EU sort of set up.
without the currency issues....for now.

You shouldn't have to prove citizenship at the drop of a hat. Hispanics are already harassed enough about their citizenship without it being explicitly said.
I'm a bit shocked that people think it's some big news that with about 11,000,000 people with illegal status, that there won't be some crime.
In any city of that size you have murders, robberies and other crimes that involve all cultures and racial ethnicities.
So we expect illegals to be perfect while other facets of our society commit crimes?
I'm one who is for enforcing our immigration laws. Eliminating some of the people from our country that work for extremely low wages may help mitigate the stagnation in wages. Wages are based on supply and demand.
It seems counterintuitive to me to want higher wages while advocating people remain on an illegal status that will work for very low wages. If you have millions who will work for cheap, where's the incentive to raise wages?
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Worked great for the EU. Oh... wait...

Yeah but you wouldn't have to build as big of a Southern wall to keep the rest out.

Archeologists can, and do use satellites to find long lost, heavily buried cities and tunnels in the Middle East and other areas. Why can't similar technology be used on the border, in the desert, to map the desert and find these tunnels before they can get heavy use? I mean, how hard would it be, if you know where a tunnel is, to close it up completely? That would help close off one avenue used to illegally invade this country.

If someone breaks the law to come here, that, by definition of the word, makes them a criminal. I have sympathy for some who try to get into this country, but none for the drug dealers and criminals. There has to be a way to use all of the technology we have at our disposal to better protect the borders, and the people of this country.

I'm thinking we start breeding German Shepherds, lots and lots of hungry German Shepherds.
I think that we should start building Terminators ......

That's great. Maybe if we prevented them from coming here illegally, some of these crimes wouldn't happen. Think about it, less illegals taking jobs that could go to Americans. Those Americans might not turn to a life a crime, as they would have jobs.
Here's my idea to fix this. Build that fence. Don't just build the fence, build a huge fence. For all I care, build two fences with razor wire between them. Add mines and a moat if you have to. Put in seismic sensors to detect tunneling.
After the fence is built, legalize all illegals. They do not get to be citizens. Their children will be citizens, and the problem is gone in a generation.
Amend the 14th Amendment. Citizens must be born from a citizen parent, not just born in the country. This will prevent future anchor babies. Deport all new illegals. Follow the current law and fine businesses for hiring illegals.
Yes, I know my ideas are draconian. It solves the problem, and it might solve the problem for some time to come.
except your assuming Americans would be willing to take those jobs in the first place.
Look around the globe at establish countries; they all have illegals, refugees, and second rate citizens doing crap jobs.
Have you ever been to Israel? low skilled service jobs are damn near dominated by africans and arabs.
Turkey? Bangladesh, Syrians, Iraqi's.
Germany has germans doing it, except they are paid with benefits, something we somehow feel here in the US low skilled minimum wage workers shouldn't be getting. Look at the threads in this very forum to see peoples opinion on it.
Vice did an awesome episode about the illegal immigration in Alabama. They tried a program hiring prisoners. The farmers complained that they didn't do even half the job the illegals were doing, and there crops suffered.
Also, they tried hiring US citizens, but a lot of them QUIT after one day because the work was too hard, and the pay didn't reflect the work.
some of y'all seem to live in some alternate universe, yet have no idea how certain things actually work.
Here's the preview, if you have HBO on Demand, i suggest you watch it in full:
Also, once again, the fence thing is a dumb idea, seeing as how they will go AROUND it. there's oceans, plus other ways, like forging of documents so authentic, most people, even trained, can not tell.
How do you think Cubans and Dominicans and other Caribbean people come to this country? Boats. So for the last time, a fence is nothing but a feel good idea, nothing more.
Your band-aid idea not only will not work, it's not even remotely plausible.
and the anchor baby thing? it's funny, cause a lot of your ancestors wouldn't be here if it wasn't for that. Say what you want, but being born in the country means that person is American. period.
Like i said, you and others have feel good solutions, nothing more. Cause everybody wants the illegals out, until they gotta pay out the butt for fruits and vegetables at the grocery stores. Then we'll see how fast that idea goes out the window.

Okay the fence thing is a dumb idea, then tell us what isn't a dumb idea that will stop the influx of illegals, Mexican and other nationalities that are making it across our border undocumented.
