this board and the old board has always been dominated by conservative/republicans. that hasn't changed one bit. Name 5 people here that claim to be Republicans.

Anyway, loving Kasich.
Carson is cool. Rubio got some buzz. I see why people like Jeb
Cruz is getting no love in the debate questions. And Scott walker is absolute trash.
Loving the brawling trump and Paul are doing.

Agreed, not liking Scott Walker at all, he is definitely trash. Love what Trump has to say and like that he is not afraid to tell it like it is!

Aight so.....
Dunno how anybody can come out of the first GOP debate, and at the moment not have Carson and Kasich as their top 2. Those guys absolutely was on their game tonight.
so for the main event i have them ranked as this:
Ben Carson John Kasich Trump/Paul(tied) Bush/Rubio(tied) Huckabee Christie Cruz Walker
The bickering between Trump and Paul was classic.
Christie is garbage, Walker is Garbage.
Cruz was getting zero love up there. barely any air time
Carson and Kasich....man those guys were on it.

Ben Carson John Kasich Trump/Paul(tied) Bush/Rubio(tied) Huckabee Christie Cruz Walker
I'd say my favorite was Christie (because he was about the only one that brought up anything substantial about entitlements & Gov. Fixed Expenses, 70% of our spending, yet never fixed. I've always liked Christie though..... But I dunno if I can do a straight ranking like that. I'd say, Scott Walker definitely didn't impress me. He looked like a fool. Rubio looked comfortable and Presidential, I thought Christie did well, I thought Kasich did well. Huckabee, Paul, and Bush would be the next tier. Carson just didn't add enough substance IMO. Maybe he's just uncomfortable in this format (understandable). I kind of wish he had a little more political experience behind him. And the final tier would be Cruz, Walker, and Trump. Walker just seemed out of his league intelligence-wise. He just didn't seem to be particularly smart. And Cruz and Trump, those guys I couldn't stand before the debate, so they didn't really stand a chance in the first place........ Not much has changed for me, except that my opinion of Rubio has definitely improved. He did well. But, I'd rather have someone with some sort of executive experience. Although, he did make a point that he was head of Florida's Legislature. But I like people that have a lot of STAFF below them. That's always the way I've been though. I like governors and businessmen over congressmen........ EDIT: Now I've gotta watch the DV-R of the first debate. I am interested in that one too. I always liked Pataki and I'm interested in this Carly Fiorina or whatever her name is.

DC, DAWG_LB, gm just to replace those who don't "claim".
Come on bro you're making this ridiculously easy. So they don't "claim the GOP? That's debatable, as they claim to be republican/conservative.
This board has always been leaning to the right.

Republicans have been allergic to being called that IMO since the Bush II days... Now it's "I'm not a republican, I'm a conservative." I voted R for about 3/4 of the positions in the last election. Why? Because local officeholders don't usually touch on social issues like abortion and race and religion. So then it comes down to taxing and economy and I'd prefer not to pay for things like county trash service when it's cheaper for me to pay a private company to do it... or be forced to tap into the city water/sewer line when I already have a well and septic working just fine. Heck it was the same with Kasich. I voted for him because while I disagreed with how he's treated education in this state, Ohio has done much better economically under his watch than the 15 years preceding it. That counts for something. That and the democrat who ran against him was a lame duck anyway. Wasn't he like 90 years old? Either way those who vote Republican these days don't like being called Republican. I'm not a party line voter but based on my last election sheet you'd consider me pretty Republican...

This board has always been leaning to the right. Agreed. And I generally vote the republican line because my order of priority (issues-wise) would be in this order 1) Economics 2) Foreign 3) Social Issues If only I could find a candidate that wanted to balance the budget primarily focused on cutting spending/tax code reform, had a plan for entitlement reform, stayed out of foreign conflict until we got our house in order (even when my heart gets ahead of me and I want to do something), cut back on foreign aid (while promoting personal donations), and legalized marijuana, left gay marriage to the court's decision, and was pro-choice (except for late-term). Unfortunately, no one like that exists........ So I'll focus on economics and foreign policy and forget the social stuff in the elections

This board has always been leaning to the right. ....so why not just admit that you can't name 5 posters that claim to be republican? Most of the people you mentioned do not think that Republican is synonomous with conservative, which gets to the point I'm trying to make, as it seems you think they are one and the same. Anymore, I feel Republican/Democrat is more accurate than Republican/conservative.

You are wrong. Tonight is not a contest to win, it is a contest to not lose. It will be mostly cordial with candidates saying vote for me because... Where did I say any of that? Can you read? When you said this... "Well, I think Trump will run the show tonight. Goodbye soft speakers, you had a good run." Ha, Still wrong. Orly?

well, even with your precious word play, i still made my claim accurately while you're doing nothing but blowing hot air.
The guys i just listed considered themselves conservatives, and wouldn't ya know? they seem to back GOP candidates pretty much every single time.
so you can try and dance around the issue all you want, this is a right wing leaning board. always has, most likely always will.

I came away from that debate impressed with most of the candidates, It is a very good field of players.
I think you can add Fiorina to the list of keepers. Time will tell us more about these folks as there is plenty of it to screw up or rise up.

Should I keep going? Cause I can add another 5 easy. Ytown, Erik and Arch don't claim to be Republicans. I don't know about Dawg Citizen. So you're 2 for 5 at best. Let's hear the other "easy 5". I'm an anti-federalist, if you'd really like to define me. As for the debate, Fiorina was great. She did herself a lot of good. Carson did himself a lot of good, but he needed more time. Huckabee's closing statement was great, but it also showed how close Trump and Clinton actually are with their political plans. Cruz was able to move himself up in the eyes of many too. Bush is getting a pass, and I don't think he says what he really intends to do. I would also like to hear more from Jindal, but I don't think he's going to make it much farther. I've thought for a long time that Christie, Bush, Walker, and Kasich are progressives. That means more federal government. Trump is Trump. He'll blow whichever way the political winds are most suitable for him. I thought he damaged himself horribly last night, but it would seem the polls are against me. If he thinks the misogynist questions aren't going to come up, he's foolish. Gilmore, Santorum, Graham, and Pataki are the first out, but most people expected that anyway.

Carley, Cruz and Carson! By far my top three favorites. I did feel the majority of the 9 o'clock candidates came prepared and had a good showing.

man, i wasn't expecting this much negativity today from the right wing masses on social media.
a lot of people are saying it was a joke. Even hardcore news apps like Right Wing News called it a circus. then they're blasting Fox News for asking real questions? I personally thought the moderators had asked some tough, challenging questions. but i guess i'm in the minority with regards to that opinion.
Sup, Conservatives?

as long as they're breathing, or have some sort of pulse, it's gonna be tough for a GOP candidate to beat them.
Kasich, Carson, and Bush are the best of the bunch......
so of course you guys are gonna nominate Christie, Walker, or Huckabee.

That's only if the mouth breathing part of the populace is satisfied with living on government bennies in their parents basements. As soon as Bernie Sanders promises free pot for everyone (O'stonercare), he'll probably win the damn vote.

LOL, you sound so bitter.
face it, the guys who are the best candidates are probably gonna take a back seat to the clown circus that we saw last night.
Kasich response to the question about him expanding the medicaid benefits was absolutely great.
He said of course he did, because his christian values requires him to take care of the people.
but nah, he's not gonna get nominate. your boy Trump or Huckabee is though.
you've already started the excuse train because y'all got a bunch of candidates, but only 2 are remotely electable.
I've noticed that everybody talks about Hilary, but she hasn't said a word, cause the GOP can't manage to get out of their own way long enough to be an actual viable party.
think about that.

You don't get bitter at the part of our populace that votes for someone based on their popularity or what they've been told on just one side of the argument? Then again, I believe you've already told everyone that you're voting for Clinton.
You might have noticed that I have not stated who I will vote for in the upcoming election. Trump is not 'my boy', and he probably never will be.
The repubs talk about Clinton as she is the presumed 'heir'. I have no idea why anyone would want someone that dishonest in high office.

Jw, can anyone think of any President who hasn't told at least 1 super major lie? I think Clinton is as dishonest as each and every President since at least WW2. But with Reagan, Nixon, LBJ, Bill and Bush all taking up very significant time, it's unsurprising.

not at all. i just go to the gym and forget about it.
thats all the election has become nowadays, a popularity contest.
you're not gonna vote for Hilary or Sanders, that much is clear.
so that only leaves one side, unless you decide not to vote at all.

I assume all democratic candidates are going to be jabbing at Hillary all day and night, and most will try to separate themselves from Obama and his policies too. It'll be funny seeing how th3y answer in regards to the crap Iran nuclear deal. A real circus is brewing.
