Take guns away from gangs and see what our gun crime rate is. How are you taking their guns away? No way possible. Even cities with the most stringent gun control laws can't do it. But, take away gang bangers shooting, I'd love to see what the murder rate is without those killings added in. Most gun laws are not stringent. You have gun shows when it would be better to rely on regulated and licensed stores. I've never heard of an abundance of liqueur shows. The dramatic increase in availability of guns in the counties next to communities that have gun laws has been well documented. Gang violence needs to be addressed, but if you claim these sprees have nothing to do with the availability of guns then neither does gang violence.

Well, I work in the field and deal with this stuff on a daily basis. Most overdose patients that I see are "cry for help" or attention seeking behaviors, where they take a higher than indicated but non-lethal dose of medication. The ones that are serious usually end up in the morgue or the ICU. We occasionally get some that are found quickly by a friend or loved one and are able to get charcoaled in the ER before any serious damage is done, but these are a very small percentage of the overdose patients we get. How do you know the intentions of the ones who went to the morgue? If you're serious, you can get a pretty good idea by the type and amount of drugs ingested. In most cases, the people with serious intent leave a note.

... limiting those Rights to the sane ... Ergo my post about mandatory psychiatric exams for both current and prospective gun owners... I guess you never read the news about the government trying to take legally owned handguns away from former soldiers because they might have PTSD. I can find a mental illness in anyone, and I'm sure the government can too.

99% of gun crime is done by a thug or a Waco, yet the liberals insist on punishing 100% of law abiding gun owners thinking this will stop the criminals and the nuts. I guess that is why they are Liberals?

Why don't the liberal left wing call for alcohol being banned and taken away each time a drunk kills someone on the road? In the same fashion they jump on banning firearms each time a psycho has a shooting?
