And I have ALWAYS maintained that Sheard is better suited to the 3-4 than the 4-3. Maybe, not so sure about that, but I do remember that you liked or defended Mingo over Sheard. That didn't work out very well. Mingo is battling for the last OLB depth chart spot with Orchard, behind Kruger, 7th rd A.Bryant and 5 time waived Solomon. Would you take Sheard over him now?

You're not allowed to use that word around here.

Ouch, that's a REALLY crappy injury list for where we are in teh season (one game in).
People are blasting Pettine for running a soft camp, and I think he's learning that easing up in camp doesn't correlate at all with less injuries/wear and tear. Pettine needs to put this one into the 'lessons learned' bin and weather the storm.
There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

Suggs blowing out his knee is huge It was actually his Achilles, which is even worse. He already tore the other one. He's 32, his career might be over.

Wonder how the NFL can replace all the cheap shots he might have taken this season.
Big news. I will not miss him.

Browns acquire DB Don Jones via waivers; LB Scott Solomon placed on IR Posted 31 minutes ago Clevelandbrowns.com @Browns Facebook Browns add depth at safety The Cleveland Browns on Wednesday claimed DB Don Jones via waivers from New Orleans. In addition, the club placed LB Scott Solomon (knee) on injured reserve. Jones is 5-11, 195-pounds and in his third NFL season out of Arkansas State. Originally a seventh-round pick by Miami in 2013, Jones has appeared in 34 career games as a reserve and has logged 23 career special teams tackles. He appeared in five games with the Saints this season and has one special teams tackle. A native of Town Creek, Ala., Jones graduated from Hazelwood High School. Solomon appeared in two games and totaled one tackle this year. He sustained an ankle injury in the first quarter of the season opener and returned to action last week before the knee injury. http://www.clevelandbrowns.com/news/arti...36-fa60fe1354ad

I will say that Gipson did not look as good as last year thus far
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Yeah Poyer played pretty well on D. We already have Campbell and Whitner. I don't understand why we're using a roster spot on Jones. Big time draft hype player who never lived up to any expectations in the pros.

Big time draft hype player who never lived up to any expectations in the pros. It could be as simple Jones plays better in O'Neil's schemes vs Rob Ryan. Farmer is simply taking a look at highest available talent. It's week 6. You aren't going to find pro-bowl caliber guys sitting on the couch. As for Poyer, I made reference in preseason he could have a breakout year similar to what Gipson had last year. Depth on this team is starting to take shape. Say what you want about Farmer, but the bottom of the roster has greatly improved. One of Browns biggest faults was the big drop off of talent when starters go down. It explains losses at seasons end. I think it is critical for Orchard and Shelton to continue improving. More pressure these guys can make improves others around. Both these guys have a high ceiling and that level of play is needed.

Lot to be said how Seattle and New England structured their team.

Lot to be said how Seattle and New England structured their team. It helps when Russell Wilson makes something like $1.5 million, combined, the first three years of his career. Also, Tom Brady is somehow only the 14th highest paid QB. Stafford, Kaepernick, Cutler, and Alex Smith are all making more than him this season. He's only making a $1 million more than Sam Bradford. This is known in the sports world as "The Duncan."

Nice to see Haden & Gipson practicing, especially if Poyer is hurt. As always is the case, when we have a position group of strength, we get hammered with the injury bug - year in and year out. The secondary has been super beat up this year, probably won't be all healthy until we're completely out of the hunt of anything meaningfull. As for Manziel at WR... they are listing the position before the name, not after... otherwise Marlon Moore is now at CB and Williams is positionless
Browns is the Browns
... there goes Joe Thomas, the best there ever was in this game.

Crowell as a DE would be highly entertaining

Why do we have three guys who didn't practice due to "not injury related" reasons?
