McNeal pushes officer, charged with resisting arrest
HOUSTON -- Cincinnati Bengals rookie wide receiver Reggie McNeal was arrested and charged with resisting arrest after being refused entrance to a nightclub early Sunday.

McNeal, a former Texas A&M quarterback, was arrested outside The Red Door, said Houston police spokesman Gabe Ortiz on Monday.

Ortiz said McNeal approached two officers who were standing near the entrance and became unruly when the officers told him the club was closing. McNeal "became aggressive and started using profanity" when the officers refused to let him enter, Ortiz said.

McNeal walked away, then approached the officers again and elbowed one of them in the chest. Officers detected "a strong odor of alcohol" from McNeal, police said.

McNeal was taken to jail, then released on a $1,000 bond. He was due in Harris County district court on Friday.

McNeal set an A&M record with 6,992 passing yards and rushed for 1,889 yards, the second-most by an Aggie quarterback. He set a Big 12 record with 213 consecutive passes without an interception.

McNeal was the Bengals' sixth-round pick and has played sparingly.

"We have been informed that Reggie has been arrested," team spokesman Jack Brennan said. "We don't feel it's appropriate to comment on a matter that's not resolved."

This is sad. He was with Henry when he got in trouble earlier in the year.

I've met Reggie's family before and they are really good people. I hope this kid gets his act together. I still think he is just angry he wasn't drafted as a qb in the nfl. He is on the Scout team and usually law trouble = getting cut for scout team.

I suggest that the Bengals have cards printed up with the above info on them...with a blank space to type in the offending player's names.

From my understanding it's simply some culture thing that I obviously don't grasp.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

I think it's just confusion on their part, they feel homeless. They don't know if they part of Cincinnati or Kentucky.

I think it's a coach who has no control over his team. If these players cared about their team, they wouldn't be acting like moronic thugs and criminals. Sheesh, they're making the ratbirds look like model citizens.

I wonder if it is bad enough the Bengals would give us a 5th round pick for Jim Brown.

We have had issues of our own over the years, but I can't recall any team having as many behavioral issues as these cats. Maybe they are the victoms of profileing by the local police down there. They run plates, than check the Bengals roster. If they get a match they flick the lights on.

And the way you avoid that, even though it may be an inappropriate abuse of power, is to either decide to run in good company, OR, have your chauffeur/personal assistant drive the dang car,....

It's not like they are all arrested for speeding or anything....these are some pretty serious charges...u don't jus "shove" an officer... you don't jus happen to DRINK and DRIVE....you don't speed away from the cops when they turn their lights on...etc

Being toasted and elbowing one of Cincinnati's finest in the chest isn't among the things I recommend doing..

I was halfway joking. Anyways your right. It's a pretty good idea too just stfu, and do what the man with gun AND a badge tells you too do. I highly recommend it.
Oh about 7 or 8 months ago I was going too work. I had just left my wife and kids at a resturant, and was driving up old 14 in Twinsburg. I look up and see the flashing lights. I turn my hazards on, and pull over too let him by. Too my surprise he pulls over behind me. I'm like wtf, I wasn't speeding, hmm must have a brake light out or something. Anyways he pops out of the car and is screaming for me too put my hands out the window. I put my hands out the window like now, but was scared too death. I'm trying too think what does he think I did? He comes up by the door and is screaming at me. He told me too open the door with my right hand, and too push the door, while keeping my hands free. He had me go too the rear of my truck, and was asking me over and over where I had just came from. I said I just left my wife and kids in Aurora. He was screaming at me, why did you beat her. I was like wtf. He had me get my license out and he was able too determine I wasn't the woman beater. He appoligized and told me that a Tow Truck driver called about me, when a call when out about a white ford truck, with a male suspect. I than went on too work.

I can't understand how anybody could do anything but obey.

So if another gets arrested before the weekend, we can put big money on the Bengals to win then right?
