I said I was hoping we would bring in Fred Jackson. I can see why we didn't. After all, Seattle has a worse team and their RBs are not as good as ours.
There are reasons some teams suck and some teams are good. Maybe we didn't bring in Fred Jackson because Fred Jackson would rather play for Seattle? It was said that everyone knew he was going to sign with them as soon as he got cut. Apparently he is still very good friends with Marshawn Lynch. Also, Seahawks > Browns.

The benefit of being a superbowl caliber team is that everyone wants to play for you even for less money. Winners attract winners and losers get stuck with more losers. It's true in life as in football programs. It's why its so important to have good drafts because its the only way a losing program can really bounce back because good players are forced into playing for bad teams against their will.
You can't fix stupid but you can destroy ignorance. When you destroy ignorance you remove the justifications for evil. If you want to destroy evil then educate our people. Hate is a tool of the stupid to deal with what they can't understand.

But there's no point roster-wise in cutting him if you can IR him. Some people don't get that, It is what it is.

I'm sorry for going off. It's just frustrating to see the double standards on here sometimes.
And I admit I am sometimes guilty of lumping everyone together.
I apologize.
With that said, I still say mac's comment was ludicrous and it is kinda crazy how it wasn't challenged. I don't think it was challenged because everyone knew how upset it would make you, and it's kind of fun to watch you become unraveled...in a 'can't turn away from that train wreck' kinda way.

I consider you a friend. And you keep this place interesting. Honestly, you're probably in my top 5 posters on here. Criteria being you have to be interesting to read. It's boring around here when you get suspended.
I would say my top 5 posters on here, in no particular order, are you, Pit, clevesteve, Mourg, DC, and Columbus....well, that's actually six.
And I think you and Pit are whacked out of your minds.

I said somewhere else........maybe the Old Posters thread that it was all about intent. Reading what you just wrote puts things into a completely different perspective. Bash away! It's now funny, rather than insulting.

More further proof how inept Tom Heckert was as a GM. TRICH is probably done. Weeden is a just big dumb lumbering oaf as a backup and Gordon is out of the NFL essentially. Yet Heckert gets a pass Now you can add Phil to that list! We've had some bad GMs no doubt, but imo Heckert was one of the worst the NFL has ever seen. Mangini was awful, but at least he had the coaching duties also.

I at least remembered how gitty he was after that first round. I thought those were pretty desperately needed picks and can help move the browns out of the cesspool. I never thought both turn into a complete zero.

Looks like we made a good move with T. Rich even though at the time no one thought it was.Kinda sad,I was hoping he would pan out when we drafted him. Some part of this has to be mental with the guy. He showed a lot of flashes his rookie year. Rish...good point that many never consider...what did the trade do to Richardson, mentally?
Many of our fans never consider that angle..what a trade can do to a person's confidence. After running and receiving for over 1300 yds his rookie year, being traded was likely the furthest thing from TR's mind.
Being traded likely blind sided him, hitting him like a ton of bricks. We can only guess what effect the trade had on TR, emotionally...did he withdraw, become depressed, turn to drinking?..we just don't know.
One fact that cannot be denied, the Browns did not screw over the Colts. The Colts got a 1300 yd RB (as a rookie, running and receiving), who scored 11 TDs rushing and 1 passing, a very productive back for the Browns.
...I'm sure the Colts question, what happened to that RB who had over 1300 yds from scrimmage in 2012?
Mac, even his first year he had, what...3.6 yards per carry? What was Hardesty's YPC that year? I would think those who were traded would get a chip on their shoulder and want to prove the original team wrong. The guy missed blatant open holes and never really seemed to have that "burst" out of the backfield. I think he's just a bust. Plain and simple. Nothing against the guy personally...he just didn't work out. You are the ONLY person who even challenged such ludicrous statements. That tells me a lot!!!! If Bone says Hoyer is better than McCown, a bunch of guys rip him. If play says Farmer made a mistake by drafting Gilbert, he is ripped unmercifully. If I say that we should have taken Teddy over Johnny, y'all start crying. But mac makes a negative statement about Banner and no one else says a word. Yeah, you guys are objective. I wanna look at this post again. Poor, poor TRich didn't do well because the poor little baby was traded. Am I supposed to believe that nonsense? Good God!!! Then, mac says: One fact that cannot be denied, the Browns did not screw over the Colts. The Colts got a 1300 yd RB (as a rookie, running and receiving), who scored 11 TDs rushing and 1 passing, a very productive back for the Browns. Fact? Really? No one but 05 challenges it? <<sigh>> TRich has been released by two RB-needy teams in less than a year. We got a first round pick for that bum. And it is a freaking FACT that we did not screw over the Colts? As 05 said, TRich missed a ton of holes in his rookie year. He averaged 3.5 yds. a carry and the other backs ALL looked better. Banner fleeced the Colts. But y'all hate that guy and loved H and H. Weird. vers...you got some serious issues when it comes your constant whining about how badly Joe Banner was treated.
Rish and I were casually discussing the mental side of what happened to TRich...he felt part of TR's problems were mental...I agreed.
I pointed out that TR "was not junk" as a rookie, over 1300 yds from scrimmage, 950 rushing, 367 receiving, 12 TDs...that was the guy the Colts traded for.
The Browns did not screw over the Colts in the trade because TR produced for the Browns...if you think back, many believed TR was a good fit for the Colts, especially with his pass catching skills paired with Luck at QB.
NO WHERE IN OUR CONVERSATION did rish or I even remotely think or write a word about JOE FREAKING BANNER.
...then you come up with this crazy, hair-brained claim that we were somehow, dissing Joe Banner, not giving him credit for fleecing the Colts.
Dude...you got issues...you refuse to acknowledge the truth..that Joe Banner got himself fired, twice in a year and a half, once(in 2012) by Jeff Lurie, a friend since they were kids and then by Haslam.
Joe Banner got himself fired because he had trouble getting along with others in both organizations and he had accumulated baggage around the league, due to his shrewd conduct.
But the bottom line is, neither me or Rish were talking about Banner.

i have wonder about that. maybe do it with EO too?Actually I cannot remember how many years its been since I got a nasty PM. Most I get are very amicable, even from Vers or BTTB no matter how hard we go at it on the board.
That and many just have no problem to insult me (at least I take it as an insult) right on the board. I think some get too far in their discussions with Vers (and yes, he doesn't hold bak...lol ) but I think they wish to say things that would get them banned if posted on the board, probably insulting and hurtful things so they state that in a PM. Just guessing. I do have a decent grasp on peoples actions. I think from my ARMY Brat background, First 13 years in life. 8 Schools 10 moves. I sat back and observed a lot.

Of course it had nothing to do w/you being full of crap, right? Sometimes I see things as being so silly I simply don't believe it's worthy of discussion. I believe the Colts looked at game tape and do what many FO's fall into the trap of doing. They look at it and say, "We can fix him". When that happens, they bite their own self in the a$$. Seriously Vers, if I took to task everything which I see as obviously crazy that is posted on this board, it would take all my time and energy. Some things I just let go.

Look dude, granted I'm not a follower of the pack...I am an independent thinker who takes the time to look at all the facts.
THERE IS NOT A DAMN THING "LUDICROUS" ABOUT MY COMMENT (quoted below)
One fact that cannot be denied, the Browns did not screw over the Colts. The Colts got a 1300 yd RB (as a rookie, running and receiving), who scored 11 TDs rushing and 1 passing, a very productive back for the Browns. EO and Vers...think about this...Do you believe the Colts gave up a 1st round pick for Richardson, knowing he was going to be a bust?
THE FACTS...The Colts traded for the RB who put up over 1300 yds from scrimmage..950 rushing yds plus 367 yds receiving and 12 tds, as a rookie.
Like I said, at the time of the trade many thought the Colts (with Luck at QB), were a good fit for a guy like TR, who obviously was a dual threat RB for the Browns his rookie season, with Weeden at QB.
NO ONE could have predicted at the time that Richardson's career would tank like it did.
What happened to Richardson was exactly what Rish and I were discussing when someone brought up freaking Joe Banner, who was never part of our discussion.
The fact that "the pack" never looked at the Richardson trade the way I have, (from a Colts point of view) does not make my opinion "ludicrous" or "Waaayyyy out there".
It makes my opinion "different" from yours and based on the facts at the time of the trade.

Stopping make a list was directed to Vers as he was asking why more posters don't knock your theories. I didn't say one word about your post. Just that you are a real nice poster and person (from what one can get from the board) but that sometimes you do have some extreme way out there ideas.
I have no clue what you are getting upset about with me...lol I was not calling for your head.
