Just busting your chops, man. We're from the same generation.

I know where you are coming from. I remember the Marty years. I loved that guy. People were dissing him and complaining he couldn't win the big game. I told them they should be thankful that we were even in that position.

Those days were so much fun. The feeling of hope was amazing. It was contagious. I remember being in a bar and Elway's pic comes up on the TV screen. The entire bar [which was packed] started chanting: "Elway Sucks! Elway Sucks!" LOL

I just wish we could be respectable again and not hear the constant negative news that comes out of Berea.

I did not take it as a slam. I have to confess I still run "scenarios" in my head while I am mowing the lawn such as Hoyer taking us to the playoffs last year, Brady Quinn the same thing. Mingo getting 13 sacks his rookie year.

Willis Adams, "Mad Dog in a meat house", "best pure pass rusher in the draft", Cliff Charleton, Charles White, Pete Adams all just some of the draft names & quotes that haunt my memory.

I just love this team and no matter who the GM or coach is (I have some I have liked better than others) I still want them to succeed. I am running out of time and I can't allow myself to wish them to lose or look bad just so I look smart because I don't like coach, GM, or owner for that matter. I hope Gilbert gets his act together and Manziel develops but I know the odds are against it but they are still my guys.

I really like the good story type guys like Gabriel & Kirksey. I must be excited because I am at work and told myself I was just going to type a line or 2 and now I am bloviating.

Anyway. Go Browns. I would love to see a win Sunday & until the clock ticks down to zero, I will keep the faith.

Yes. This is Cleveland, my town, the place where I was born and raised. We love our sports teams in a way others don't understand. Cleveland is the capital of "also ran" teams. While others celebrate championships, we celebrate winning seasons. We love our teams for playing hard...even if they don't win. I get to wear brown and orange, fly my "Cleveland Browns" flag at my front door, and yell and scream at my TV. There will be great moments, probably more WTF moments. There will be players I love, and players I love to hate.

Football is back, and I'm excited.

I can't get excited about the Browns since draft day of 2014 when the homeless guy made the pick for the Browns. I didn't care about Manziel the PR persona, but I knew he didn't have what it takes to be a NFL QB. The fact that Bridgewater (I still think for "reverse"-racial reasons) was still around made it 10 times more depressing for me. Even the 7-4 start looked like a BABIP fueled record with little substance. I stopped caring and posting.

I expect nothing going into this season, but I don't see much of a future with Manziel at QB, Farmer as GM and, worst of all, Haslam as owner. I like Pettine, although I think he's not HC-material, and I feel bad for him being surrounded by idiots of all sorts. Since those spots are most important for a HC's job security and we're talking about idiots manning them, I would bet that Pettine will be the scapegoat of those idiots, mark it down. He will be the first to get fired when the incompetence manifests itself. Pettine will take his blame, because he's a honorable man, but the idiots will start finger pointing (Farmer already did with text-gate, Haslam with his hire/fire style) to deviate the blame from them.

I'm always excited for football season because football is my passion. I've always been in a pickum pool and do dabble with Fantasy although not especially impressed with it. I enjoy watching not only the Browns, but other teams and players that I like.

But when it comes to the Browns per say, I would say with the state of the team since its return, it's more a sense of curiosity at this point. I don't believe we can expect much of an offense this season. Yet I'm curious about the development of Crow and if Duke can stay healthy. What the added dimension of a different style of RB in Duke will bring to the team.

On how well Shelton will play and develop. How the D will do against the run. If Tramon Williams simply had a bead year last season or was that the beginning of the end.

So I don't know if I can actually qualify that as excitement. To a degree I guess it is. But it's certainly not the level of excitement that I had when we had a competent team and people running it. So from my perspective, it just isn't the same.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

I do have a certain sense of anticipation heading into Sunday, but I can't say I'm excited. I would say I'm "interested" or "curious" to see how the season unfolds, but its almost with a morbid premonition of waiting for the slow-motion trainwreck to happen. Its like how or when will the wheels come off this year?

I harken back to Monty Python:

"bring out your dead"

"bring out your dead"

"I'm not dead yet",
"feeling much better",
"think I 'll go for a walk",
"is Manziel playing yet?" tongue

I'm excited this year as I always am. Hoping for the best, hoping it will be different but expecting the usual. I can't see us winning any of our last 3 games. That's how all our seasons seem to end.

I am always giddy with anticipation, I can't wait for the season to get here during the off season, and I can't wait for Sundays to get here during the season. I always feel like we can win every game and I want to go in Sunday and kick the Jets' collective ass.

Also, I spend many of my Sunday evenings depressed and disappointed, but I'll be able to live for years on the feelings I got while I was at the game last year when we kicked Pittsburg's ass!

I've been waiting for years for this team to play with heart and with a dominating attitude, and it's finally starting to show.

I am always excited for football. I love college and NFL football. I play in several fantasy leagues. The Packers look to be a contender again which gives me hope. The Browns...well...let's face it...they aren't going to challenge for the playoffs. The lines of scrimmage are shaping up nicely. Our LBs concern me. We have no real offensive weapons. Not really sure how our front office continues to overlook obvious talent to keep drafting duds. Oh well, at least we have a Pro Bowl punter. I'll be saving more money this season by avoiding going to games and buying any gear (the new uniforms are garbage - screw you Nike). It looks like another 5 win season. Just enough to mess up drafting at #1. Only the Browns could screw that up. But hey, how about those new stadium bells and whistles and those higher ticket prices? Sure glad the fans got all of that! Enjoy the season!

After 55 years, I'm walking away from this dumpster fire. Good luck to everyone who continues to hang on. You'll need it.

I am a Browns fan. This season for me begins with heartache. One of my closest friends passed away this summer. We watched the Browns games together for over thirty years. It's hard to see this season begin without him to talk about the Browns. (RIP Bruce).

Outside of that I want the Browns to be great. The hardest part for me is the quarterback situation.

So many games are won late with critical 4th quarter scoring drives.

The offense is sadly lacking in skill position play makers.

When your team can't score it can be hard to watch.

If you have suffocating defense that really puts pressure on the quarterback that can be exciting. The Browns don't have a sack monster like J.J. Watt. They have some players on defense but not a guy who can change games.

It has been a long time to just have a winning season and it doesn't look good for this season.

But having football is better than not having football.

I made a commitment to watch the college quarterback prospects with the hope that we will land a guy I believe in.

Watched Conner Cook in the first game and was impressed with his maturity.

Maybe the Browns will surprise us. Opening against the Jets I kinda like our chances.

I am cautiously optimistic, as I usually am..

Do I think the 2015 Browns will be great? Not really..

Do I think they will be terrible? No..

I expect to be competitive. Close games, lose some you should win, win a couple you should lose..

While it is all one season, each game is its own separate adventure..

Each game changes how I feel about how the season will go..

Yes, I'm always excited for the first game. Generally I don't start loosing faith and interest until the team does something that makes them deserve to be ignored... And then I still pay attention. I'm a sucker for the Browns I guess LOL

I may not have been clear in my first post.

I was asking if you guys were excited about the Brown's season.

Football started last week. I was jacked out of my mind watching all of those college games and especially Ohio State.

I was not asking if you were excited that football has returned. I was asking if you are excited about the Browns this year?

Some of you have already clarified that. There just seems to be a lot of posts talking about football season.

I am always excited for the Browns' season to start. I usually have a lot of optimism and hope this time of year. And some rationalizations for how things won't be as bad as they look.

This year I still have the excitement because I love the Browns and the sport. But I have no optimism this year.

This season I think I'm going to worship more at Our Lady of the Fairway instead of Our Lady of the Gridiron. I can record the games and watch them when I get home. Watching it live used to be worthwhile, not so much any more.

Thanks to you and GM.

We shared Browns football living in Atlanta. Both of us coming from Cleveland. We met at work in 1982 or so. Found out we were both rabid Dawg fans.

Funny at that time we would go to hotels that would carry Browns games and later Sports Bars. Finally Direct TV.

We talked through every game and every draft.

It is very strange starting this season.
