No, I never thought he was in the same discussion as someone like AP or Gurley. Don't get me wrong, I thought he was going to be good. But, I didn't seem him as that special once per decade kind of guy.

Different players, different front offices, different times. I can't support not picking a guy just because it didn't work out well in the past. In my opinion, past failures have nothing to do with what's happening now when all of the circumstances are different. Other teams have traded up for RBs who have turned out just fine, the Browns have simply had a long string of horrid luck.

The Ravens picked up Terrance West.

He is going to be their starter in two seasons, watch. Ozzie absolutely schooled Ray Farmer...how he doesn't get fired will be a mystery.

How do you figure Ozzie schooled Ray Farmer as it pertains to Terrance West?

If he doesn't fix what keeps getting him traded or cut, he won't even be in Football in two years..

Insanity in the NFL is never taking the best player available.

He has been coached by two of the worse coaching staffs in the NFL. Sometimes for players it takes a great coach to fix what comes from within. We shall see.

Seems like, if Terrence ever did any hitting he left it at Towson.

You have to be willing to hit people and get injured in order to play running back or linebacker in the NFL.

Yes. We sent a 4th and 6th rounder to the 49'ers to move up to #94 in the third round.

Screw the 6th rounder. The blunder was taking West over D.Freeman.

Manziel over Bridgewater and West over Freeman. I knew exactly what an incompetent talent evaluator Farmer was then and there.

Freeman isn't doing much in Atlanta.

He also wasn't even supposed to play this year. He only got a chance because Tevin Coleman got hurt.

...and proved to be better, which is why he's the starter now and Coleman the backup. Draft position and GM ego do also exist in Atlanta.

Man, go back to the 2014 pre-draft threads. It was plain as day that Hyde and Freeman (and White) were the only three down RBs in that draft and 18 months later, 2 of the 3 are exactly that and the others are part time players. If I can see it watching 10min cut ups on those guys, what the hell is Farmer seeing? Freeman was doing this at FSU, for everyone to see, so no, let's draft some Towson kid who ran over 250 pound DL. Classic outsmarting of a clueless GM

Side note, in the Cincy game they showed that the Bengals had something like 50 of 53 of their roster drafted from the big college conferences, headlined by SEC players. Say what? Those guys have a better chance transitioning to the NFL than projects from Towson or Lindwood? Mind blowing

Farmer tried so hard to unearth some diamond in the rough to belong that he outsmarted his way out of his job. Well done, idiot.

Cincy has a lot of SEC players because Mike Brown is cheap and they don't have the budget to send scouts everywhere.

His point still stands. The list you showed are the actual diamonds in the rough...can we show how many people from those schools didn't pan out in the NFL?

At this point, I wouldn't criticize how Cincy is doing anything. They built a very talented team. Sometimes the obvious choice to draft at a position is just that...then you have idiots like Farmer who outsmart themselves.

We traded up to get West so the Ravens couldn't have him. Ravens still have him.....i'd say that's a grade A schooling.

You were right. You told me to shut down Sankey and Seastrunk and both have done nothing in the league...

My rankings (for top 10) were:

On the other hand, I said to stay away from Ka'Deem Carey, Andre Williams who everyone thought were the top two or two of the top three backs in that draft... At least I got that part right. Also, Marion Grice & Charles Sims ().

I would have bit on Seastrunk too. I thought he was a beast.

How? Ravens have him because he never got his crap together and didn't produce. Did Ozzie tell him to tank until he could get on the Ravens? Because otherwise all I see is the Browns identifying a player they and the Ravens also wanted, and outmaneuvered them to get him.

The Ravens signed him as a street free agent after he failed to make himself roster-worthy at two other places. It's a huge stretch of logic in my mind to make the Ravens look like they somehow outsmarted everyone... like it was their plan all along to have someone else draft him, him suck, then them sign him off the street.

Let's look at the draft.

The Browns lost a 3rd and, 5,6?
The Ravens have Crockett Gilmore and West on the roster.


It's not a huge stretch in logic to think Farmer is a fool.

Well the diamonds in the rough are out there. You can't forget about potential HOFers by not scouting small schools. The fact that Farmer can't judge who those guys are is irrelevant. If his board is screwed up that's the problem, not where his scouts are scouting.

Now, I agree Farmer has made a ton of bad draft-related decisions, but that's a different proposition IMO. I'm sure when the Browns jumped Baltimore Ozzie didn't tap his fingertips together saying "eggzelent... now West will play himself out of Cleveland and we will sign him as a free agent then suddenly become good."
