I'm trying to follow along and understand what you think needs to be done. Are you mad because kids are taught the meaning of "Thanksgiving" before they're told of the atrocities committed against Native Americans? I seem to remember learning about the "Trail of Tears" and most of the other terrible stuff we did to Native Americans in 5th or 6th grade. Is that not the case in most schools? It feels like this is more of an effort to cancel Thanksgiving because of the crap that happened later, maybe it's just me.

Not really comfortable with teaching kindergarten kids about genocide, or feeling like there is some necessary need to choose between that and acknowledging Thanksgiving. Not being a smart ass, what am I missing?
