Get better to a point where you're equal to or better than the competition (best teams in the league), specialize in something, and make your team the best at it. Maybe it'll be power hitting or home runs, maybe it'll be fielding. Keep working with that and add other pieces to the system and eventually, you have a good team that's fairly competent in all phases of the game.

The Guardians do this with pitching. They have one of the best rotations in baseball for several years. In the 2021 MLB draft they selected 18 pitchers out of their 20 draft picks.

Their problem has been a complete inability to field a major league outfield. Zero power from the corner outfield positions.
