One of my favorites was when he called Hank Aaron's record breaking HR. He was the Dodger's announcer and Al Downing was pitching for the Dodgers. Hank hit the historic HR and Vin Scully called it. Reportedly, he turned his back to the field so he would not dare speak while Hank rounded the bases. He thought that the crowd's response was a bigger story than anything he could say.
