I do think it's a contradiction in terms for those who believe in stand your ground laws, which means if you feel your life is threatened you have no requirement to retreat, but have the right to use deadly force. It seems they believe that those officers should have been required to be physically attacked without having the right to kill those who were attacking them. That's exactly what stand your ground laws allow people to do.

However I'm not a proponent of such laws. But I feel I do have the right to use deadly force if someone breaks into my house when I'm home. Don't you?

And no, I don't believe those cops in DC should have killed people for entering the capital. But it does seem odd the double standard some people seem to have when it comes to the use of deadly force depending on who is involved in the situation.
