The thing about Crochet is that he this is his 1st year as a starter, he has already pitched more innings than any season in his career except his rookie season, and he is coming off an arm injury.
Word has it teams looking to trade for him would put him in the bullpenn to limit his innings the rest of the season, then late season try to stretch him back out so he can start in the playoffs.
Bingo.
Crochet has never thrown more than 100 innings. You'd be trading for a guy that you hope can make a start in the postseason with no postseason experience. He's a good fit for the Dodgers.
He's not a gamechanger this year (imo), long term I think he's a #1 or #2 starter.
There's been rumblings about Chris Bassitt. Would not cost nearly as much and has postseason experience.
