The books take place during the time of Nazi Germany.
It is about a detective who works in Berlin. He investigates a serial killing.
Good read with twists and turns. More than mystery because of the backdrop and politics.
If you like this style, I recommend Phillip Kerr and his Bernie Gunther series. Kerr was a British author as well. 'March Violets' is the first book in the series.
