I'm starting to wonder if the links to Sanders, then Carter, and now Hunter is all just a smoke screen to get someone to trade up to 2 and we slide back a few spots and take Jeanty the RB from Boise St., we currently only have Ford and Strong as the RBs on our roster. RB and TE are 2 of the positions we need help at that we haven't signed a FA or at least a Street Free Agent.
If we're going back to the KS-style offense, going into the season with Ford as RB1 is (arguably) worse than going in with Pickett as starter QB.
I don't think it is all that arguable. I think it is.
First, I don't think Pickett is as bad as some think. I think this O will help him, assuming he is the starter.
A solid running game helps any QB, especially one who probably isn't going to carry many games on his back. I am not going to speculate on any trade backs or anything like that, but we have to draft at least 1 back fairly high and I would even draft another a little later just to make sure we have some young, fresh talented backs. I'll let camp and the coach determine where on the depth chart they fall.
