If you really want to see what a bunch of shysters the NFL owners are, this book is a good read if you can find it. It looks at the business end of the NFL in the 60's, 70's and 80's. You had the old school owners Halas, Rooney, Mara, etc, then the mid range idiots like Model and Al Davis, and the newer guys trying to make a mark. It's been years since I read it, but it was an eye opener. The crooked wheeling and dealing came to a head when Davis tried and ultimately succeeded in moving the Raiders to LA. The story is fascinating. Be careful not to confuse this book with one that was written in 2019 called "The League". That one looks interesting too.
