In the hustle and bustle of life I think we are sometimes so busy or so preoccupied with other things, that we sometimes lose focus of what is most important. That's the blessing we all have. In my life I've been blessed in many ways. I'm sure we all have in one way or the other. It's not that we haven't suffered loss or had obstacles to overcome. If one lives long enough that's simply a part of life. Whether that takes the form of financial problems, the loss of loved one's, health issues or the many other various obstacles life throws our way.

Through all of that we're still here. We still have our friends and families. We all still live in a nation that provides more choices, freedoms and opportunities than almost anywhere else on the globe. We have food and a roof over our heads. Some of us have far more blessings than that to be thankful for. I know I never take those things for granted. I feel very blessed. I'm sure anyone who thinks about these things will feel the same. Of all the holidays we have, I consider Thanksgiving and the 4th of July of the utmost importance. They don't revolve around commercialism. They don't revolve around anything other than being thankful for our freedoms and our blessings.

With all that's going on in the world I hope that tomorrow we can all concentrate on the things we have to be thankful for. And football.... Let's not forget football. naughtydevil

So to all of you I wish you a very safe and happy Thanksgiving.

Very well stated. Same you you, Pit. Funny, you mentioned commercialism and I thought "Black Friday!!" At least we wait 'til the food's partially digested. 🤣

Took me a while after hitting 50 to start to take a deep breath and embrace this season in life. Be thankful for life's blessings and stop being so hard on myself for not being able to achieve more, do more to help, enrich the lives of my family and those around me in a more spectacular way, etc, etc... With every tough challenge I've faced in life, I've enjoyed this blanket of true freedom and a fighting chance to overcome, in what I still consider the greatest country in the world.

While we're all gathered around this table, I want to say thanks to all of you for sharing this journey through good and bad. Thank you for your patience every day, I know I can be a pain in the butt. Thank you for taking care of each other through all the things outside of football, thanks for talking people from the edge between the lines. A guess you can say we're "nameless, faceless" but we really are a pretty tight knit community... And I don't think there is anyone I would vote off the island. My best wishes for a wonderful Thanksgiving to all of you out there in Dawgtalker Land.

My current blessing is a bit of a curse (not really lol). Going to Ireland and Scotland after cleaning up from the feast. NO Buckeyes game unless I can find a bar in Dublin (fat chance). NO Browns game in Belfast, there is a bar that shows NFL games, but the late start means a 9pm game time, and that means live entertainment instead. NO Browns game the following Sunday unless Aer Lingus' measly 1mbps will allow me to stream during the trip back home. Cheer extra loud for me, Dawgs! And be thankful we have something to cheer about this year, as strange as this whole journey has been so far.

Hope everyone is having a great day! Kind of bittersweet for Xander and me. Our first Thanksgiving without Jim, my husband and Xander's dad. We miss him. I made a simple Thanksgiving dinner with turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes with corn (the way Jim used to make it).
