My tin foil hat take:
Started as a passive-aggressive hold-in. Came back to practice when it was becoming apparent Conklin would start. When asked if Jed could start on Sunday after Wednesday's practice, Stefanski gave his typical non-committal answer of "we'll see how the week goes." Later on, Jed during his media session, "I'm not starting on Sunday." Fast forward to today and he's a DNP.
Next chapter will be when they announce the Browns and Wills have reached an agreement on a contract extension.
