From a purely theoretical standpoint, I would agree with you... but what is going on right now is next level.
Supposedly the DOGE douches are firing people "for cause" and telling everyone, in blanket statements, that it was for poor performance for the sole purpose of making it harder to draw unemployment. Some employees that were axed have said they don't have any poor reviews on their record and/or had just received positive EOY reviews.
Say what you want about establishment dems (I'll prolly never disagree with you), but the disdain shown to the common working man by this admin truly is next level... an admin that ran on the promise of addressing the needs of those same people. They made all the promises and then as soon as they got in they started axing federal jobs, demonizing the people that did said jobs, doing nothing about the people that set up/approved the budget (if you want to call it that), and are now pushing more of the bad budget practices that got us into the mess that they promised to fix.
So yeah... it does sound the same but at the same time it's not.
