Top 100 prospects "Big Board" - 03/08/11 05:18 PM
Tier 1: 1-10
CB Patrick Peterson
Much more then just a good CB. He can also impact your special teams units. Peterson's total assets to a team puts him at the top of his class.
DE Da'Quan Bowers±
After April 1st (his pro day date) I think he will be back in the running for the number 1 pick. Bowers is this years top pass rusher.
DT Marcell Dareus
Has more versatility then does Nick Fairley and is probably the safer pick if not the most explosive pass rusher of the two.
DT Nick Fairley~
Some say he was a one year wonder and plays with an attitude. He is not as discipline as Dareus, but Fairley can generate a good pass rush from the DT position and that's a pretty high commodity in this League. I don't think he will be nearly as effective in a 34.
LB Von Miller
Some have labeled a prospect at WOLB in the 34. I think his best fit might be in a 43 (WILL).
I don't think he has the size to be as effective vs the run in a 34. Has the talent to develop into a force in the League with his speed and is athletic as any prospect in the draft with exception to Peterson.
QB Blaine Gabbert
I'm luke warm at best with this years QB class, with Gabbert topping that list.
WR A.J. Green
Green lost some ground to Jones as far as the top WR in the class, but run the film and he is clearly the Top of this class. Green would rate higher if not for being a receiver.
DE Cameron Jordan
I've had Jordan rated as my Top senior of this class and I think if Dareus is considered a safe pick to be rated number three overall.
Jordan has position and scheme versatility and he has a few moves in rushing the QB to warrant this high a rating.
CB Prince Amukamara
Prince is my number two senior in this draft class and number two corner.
WR Julio Jones
Jones must still refine the finer points of his trade, but the upside far out ways these concerns, so he rounds out my top 10 prospects.
