The alternate is round-by-round scoring where you get 1 point for each team that advances out of the first round, 2 for the second, etc.

Here is an alternative scoring system I will throw out for consideration - For each game your team wins you take the round and multiply it by the teams seed. If a #12 seed wins 2 games they give you 36 points. 12x1 for round one and 12x2 for round 2.
Highest point value for a contestants two teams combined wins.
This way if you were to draw an 8 and a 10 seed you would still have a reasonable chance at winning.

The only bad thing in that scenario is if you have a #1 seed, the best you can do is 28 points. So, a Louisville winning 7 games would have less points than an Oregon winning only 2 games. Love the idea though, just have to make a minor tweak somehow.

I have a 7 seed in Illinois and a 12 seed in Oregon and both make out of the opening round. I know the NCAA wants to call this the 2nd round but seriously?
