Big game tonight, the Raptors at home, 7 PM.

P.S. Time for a possible pre-game nap.

Cleared my evening plate to make sure I'd be able to tune into this one. Last one, in the words of Pat Shurmur, was a battle.

As much as I liked/miss Frye, I'm so happy we got rid of IT and got Nance Jr. I didn't know much about him, but now after seeing him pretty consistently, we scored on that trade. Clarkson has been a nice piece too. Cheers LA.

Yep. The Cavs will be in The Finals again.

Doubtful they make it there without Altman making the necessary trades.

He don't make that trade would could have easily dropped out to the 7 or 8 seed..it was going horrible

That's for sure, that guy took a V-8 engine and swapped out the cracked cylinders and fine tuned the engine somethin' fierce.

There was discussion on the radio that LeBron wants to play all 82 games this year.

I think he'll play... just long enough to get his 10 points.

I'm assuming this is "fan appreciation night" as the last game always is. I've been to a few, we usually lose because we are down to the bottom of the bench by halftime. But then again, it is the Knicks.

That’s encouraging, don’t wanna ‘jinx’ it, but I wanna see LeBron play while he’s still playing for us.

In case he doesn’t play for us anymore.

Joe Thomas inspired him.
Posted By: Dawg_LB Re: Cavs // NBA continued - 04/04/18 11:33 PM
IDK I like the idea of resting him, purposely, here and there. If the man wants to play though, each game - how do you deny someone of his caliber that? You don't. He's so fun to watch play. Defense, offense and man he can see the court for some excellent passes. Gotta cut his practice time down though. Like we did with Joe Thomas.

Lebron get a ton of minutes, but he's the master of keeping things in first gear as much as possible. He might play 40 minutes a night, but he's not really exerting himself for much of that.

on another note, I hope when George Hill comes back, Lue don't send Calderon to the bench never to be seen again.. I think Jose has proven he's a better option than Hill as the starting PG

That depends how he plays the rest of his career. If he's entering another era of injuries like he had pre-Lebron, then we lucked out. If he's back to 100% next year and onward, maybe not. Then again, if Lebron leaves and we have a healthy Kyrie, we aren't title contenders anyway, so maybe a moot point.

We already have. Kyrie put us in an impossible situation by demanding a trade close to the start of the season. When we turned him into Thomas... and then unloaded him before another hip surgery, we already dodged the bullets as best as you can possibly hope. Not easy when someone else puts a bullet in the chamber and points it at your head.

We've indirectly turned Kyrie into a much younger squad with much less ego and a top draft pick that insures less hardship should LeBron decide to leave (he won't).

who knows.

if clarkson, nance, hill, and hood work out, it would've never happened if we didn't make the trade during the offseason.

kyrie was glass before lebron, during lebron, and after lebron.

oh i'm appreciative of him. he's always gonna be that.

but that has nothing to due with the fact that he's always injured.
Posted By: Punchsmack Re: Cavs // NBA continued - 04/05/18 07:18 PM
He's missed 24% of his regular season career already. When you factor in his missed Finals games of 2015, that might have cost us a title.

I wonder how much the Cavs factored his health when attempting to flip him for Paul George. I'd bet a lot.

And yes Pastor, I will always support Kyrie for the 2016 Finals. Outside of when we're playing him, I hope he stays healthy and finishes off a HOF career. When we are playing him, I hope we beat his brains in...which is the same for every other opponent.
Posted By: Dawg_LB Re: Cavs // NBA continued - 04/05/18 09:30 PM
Kyrie played well for us and etc, he requested the trade and got what he wanted. No hard feelings. With that said, he just cannot ever stay on the court. Missing the entire playoffs, even worse.

Ouchy... best luck in his recovery.

It was an old video, obviously. Shaq said he told one of the refs he was going to go after a player if he kept fouling him, and he did. He took a swing at him, missed, then went after him some more (he fell on him). Everyone kinda piled on, trying to get him off the other guy.

Here it is:

That was kind of weak from my point of view. Yeah, he stood up for himself a bit, and I can see that but still:

1) Oakley was the one who really fouled him, so he went after Brad Miller instead. Nobody messed with Oak!

2) He took a swing at him when he wasn't even facing him. Kind of a chicken poop move.

3) He missed at point blank range. But then again, Shaq sucked at free throws. laugh

Wow, it looks like lead complained us all the way to a win! Maybe he'll complain us all the way to a championship like he did 2 years ago. I'm going to add to the complaining.....Tristan Kardashian brings nothing to the table anymore.

Posted By: Dawg_LB Re: Cavs // NBA continued - 04/06/18 09:39 PM

As it should be. IMO, TT should't see much time in the playoffs, starting or coming off the bench. JR least gives you that chance to get into a scoring zone and etc, but yes, I can see why he could get pulled too. I figured TT was because I barely see him playing these last games.
Posted By: Swish Re: Cavs // NBA continued - 04/06/18 09:40 PM
i understand TT, but i can't see JR not in the rotation. he still gives great defensive effort.
Posted By: Jester Re: Cavs // NBA continued - 04/06/18 09:45 PM
I think Calderon has earned a starting spot.
Cedi has earned minutes
Zizic should be a match-up play

Yes I think Calderon has a good feel for the game and etc.

Big game here in a bit against 76ers.
Posted By: leadtheway Re: Cavs // NBA continued - 04/06/18 10:29 PM
I think we will see JR in spots. TT officially is the worst contract ever. How great has Jose been. He really turned a weakness into a strength on this team, he’s better than hill imo
Posted By: Dawg_LB Re: Cavs // NBA continued - 04/06/18 11:12 PM
Osman, LBJ, Hood, Green and Love.

Love's three ball looking good. Guess he worked with Korver and he just drilled that three.

My guess is we're tired, but so long as we have Lebron, you're gonna have to be up by way more than this before I'll throw in the towel.

This is true.

But Lue is back, which means we’re seeing stupid lineups again.

28-41, Cavs down, end of first quarter.
Posted By: leadtheway Re: Cavs // NBA continued - 04/06/18 11:38 PM
Only way this team will make it out of the first round is if Lue is relieved of duties. It’s not a coincidence the defense went to hell since he was back. I said it before, philly is the team to beat in the east, not us

Yeah, I just don't want to see him here next year. I'd not complain if Drew just came back and took it over. TT all of a sudden playing a lot and what do you know... we getting whipped and dipped.

Korver and Clarkson seem lost on defense.

Nice little run here to get it to 15. If we can get it within 10 by the 4th, I think that will put some pressure on the 76ers.

our path to the ECF is actually easier if we remain the 4 seed.

we will play the pacers, and assuming toronto doesn't get bounced by the wizards, we will play them in the 2nd round.

Rather not point to that as a good sign for the teams future.

Just like we said a while ago, wouldn't be Cleveland without drama.

I’m just trying to spin this, because honestly this sucks.

I could care less about the cheating, but this crap one game left in the season? Right before playoffs?

Real life is so much more dramatic than fiction.

Just like when Josh got suspended the first time and it was reported the second night of the draft when we got Manziel.

Can't have any good news without some damn bad news.

Meh, I don't see it as that big of a deal. This happened back in October, so it's not like he did this recently. And he's not getting playoff minutes anyway, so I don't see how this really affects the team much. It's between TT and his girlfriend. Now, if he was caught making out with Gloria James, THEN I'd be concerned.
Posted By: CleVeLaNd_sTrife Re: Cavs // NBA continued - 04/11/18 05:17 AM
LOL when I saw this story the first thing I thought about was Delonte West.

I actually liked his game. Too bad he slept with LeBron's mom.

The article also said he was seen going into a motel room with another woman this past weekend. I'm afraid this story's going to follow us through the playoffs.

I can't wait till we're done with the Kardashian-West clan. We shipped Iman out now we just gotta wait to jettison TT. I hope Jordan Clarkson broke it off with Bella Hadid or he has to leave too.

Should have made it priority to move on from him. Worst contract/performance ratio we've ever had. Sooner he's gone the better
Posted By: MrTed Re: Cavs // NBA continued - 04/11/18 01:33 PM
If it’s true we’re signing Kendrick Perkins I say we let th guy go and play Nance, Zizic and a Perkins at that spot.
Posted By: YTownBrownsFan Re: Cavs // NBA continued - 04/11/18 03:12 PM
Kevin Durant will make them pay. I hope that he goes the Lebron route, with a 1 year max deal, and a 1 year player option.

Kevin Durant will reportedly opt out of contract to restructure deal with Warriors - CBSSports.com
https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/kevin...-with-warriors/

When Kevin Durant re-signed with the Warriors over the summer he did so at a massive discount. The expectation was that he would take less than the max, but nobody expected him to sign the two-year $53 million deal he agreed to. It turns out, Durant didn't plan to stay in that contract for long.

According to Chris Haynes of ESPN, Durant plans to opt out of his contract in the upcoming summer to restructure his contract with the Warriors. In other words, he's going to set himself up to get paid a lot more money.
Golden State Warriors All-Star Kevin Durant plans to decline his player option for the 2018-19 season and become an unrestricted free agent this summer, league sources tell ESPN.

However, his time on the open market will be brief.

A nine-time All-Star and the reigning NBA Finals MVP, Durant will be turning down a salary of $26.2 million, a figure well below that for a player of his caliber, in order to restructure a new deal with the Warriors, sources said.

It has yet to be decided what contractual route Durant will take, sources say, but there are no real incentives -- for himself or for the team -- to take such a drastic reduction in pay this time around.

Durant's discount was so Golden State could re-sign players such as Andre Iguodala and Shaun Livingston, but it also has given him the flexibility to make another move in the offseason. That kind of leverage and freedom is something a lot of superstar players strive for in their contracts. It's something LeBron James has been doing for multiple seasons. Now, Durant can go out and get the money he thinks he's worth.

Anybody who is hoping this will lead to the end of Durant's time with Golden State should probably wish for something else. Durant is only opting out so he can re-sign with the Warriors on another deal. The chances of him leaving Golden State are as close to zero as it gets.

I truly believe he's out of the rotation too come playoffs like what's been reported, so just move on.

Problem is you can't really "release" players in the NBA. The contract stays on the cap. And any player we sign to replace his spot on the roster is triple the cost because of the luxury tax.

Haven't we already done that with Perkins? It's on NBA.com we signed him so I'm taking it as a legit source.

So the only reason the Bucks would try to win tonight would be to avoid playing the Raptors as the 8 seed...

If they lose, and MIA and WSH wins ( which is going to happen ), they play the Raptors.

If they win and we win, then they play us in the first round.

If they win and we lose, they play the 76ers.

The ideal scenario for them is to Lose and hope that one of either MIA or WSH loses.

According to CBS, at the half our personnel group was Holland. Thompson, Osman, Perrantes, and Zizic. I would be surprised to see Lebron after the half. He got his double digit scoring to maintain his streak.

These first round games in the east have been following the same blueprint so far it seems.

Home team goes up by 8-12 points.

Away team goes on a run and goes up 8-12 points.

Home team goes on a run and pulls away from the away team.

Well Love doing his normal big game disappearing act hasn’t helped, but getting turnovers and running would get the offense back on track. Lebron needs to stop playing like a pansy and attack. He’s not doing any dominating. Make them defend you, get to the line and then everything will open up

I guess it can’t be much worse. Though I hate saying that knowing Lue is still the coach
Posted By: Dawgs4Life Re: Cavs // NBA continued - 04/15/18 08:47 PM
pathetic

Posted By: leadtheway Re: Cavs // NBA continued - 04/15/18 09:13 PM
Jr needs to stop trying to be something he’s not. Shoot the damn ball that’s it
Posted By: Swish Re: Cavs // NBA continued - 04/15/18 09:15 PM
we look like we have no idea what we're doing on offense.

JR
Posted By: leadtheway Re: Cavs // NBA continued - 04/15/18 09:22 PM
These refs suck
Posted By: DCDAWGFAN Re: Cavs // NBA continued - 04/15/18 09:23 PM
Cavs getting frustrated because Pacers have outhustled them most of the game, now the Cavs have turned up the intensity and the Pacers haven't quit.
Posted By: Swish Re: Cavs // NBA continued - 04/15/18 09:23 PM
there we go!!
Posted By: leadtheway Re: Cavs // NBA continued - 04/15/18 09:23 PM

Posted By: leadtheway Re: Cavs // NBA continued - 04/15/18 09:26 PM
Maybe that’s the play that gets us rolling
Posted By: Swish Re: Cavs // NBA continued - 04/15/18 09:26 PM
these FT misses are killing us
Posted By: leadtheway Re: Cavs // NBA continued - 04/15/18 09:26 PM
These Ft are ridiculous
Posted By: leadtheway Re: Cavs // NBA continued - 04/15/18 09:26 PM
We can’t get any momentum
Posted By: leadtheway Re: Cavs // NBA continued - 04/15/18 09:27 PM
They need to start giving Stephenson some flagrants. Dudes ghetto

And then what? Back to a 10 point lead. Thus lost momentum hence my post rolleyes

Damn, that last 3 would have been nice.
Posted By: leadtheway Re: Cavs // NBA continued - 04/15/18 09:32 PM
We need a few more people to get going, like hood/hill
Posted By: DCDAWGFAN Re: Cavs // NBA continued - 04/15/18 09:32 PM
With about 5 minutes left in the 3rd and the Cavs down by 22, I was hoping to get to the 4th down by only 12... down by 8 is well within striking range...
Posted By: leadtheway Re: Cavs // NBA continued - 04/15/18 09:34 PM
Not sure I’m seeing why green playing ahead of cedi. Maybe normally but green isn’t getting it done you have to find someone. Cedi always plays hard
Posted By: leadtheway Re: Cavs // NBA continued - 04/15/18 09:36 PM
Hopefully this game wakes these guys up and they realize they can’t coast for a single possession
Posted By: DCDAWGFAN Re: Cavs // NBA continued - 04/15/18 09:37 PM
Cut to 7...
Posted By: leadtheway Re: Cavs // NBA continued - 04/15/18 09:37 PM
Entering lebron takeover time
Posted By: Swish Re: Cavs // NBA continued - 04/15/18 09:37 PM
agreed. this game, win or lose, better be a wake up call.

bring the intensity in the 1st quarter.
Posted By: 3rd_and_20 Re: Cavs // NBA continued - 04/15/18 09:38 PM
Getting closer...
Posted By: DCDAWGFAN Re: Cavs // NBA continued - 04/15/18 09:39 PM
Who other than LeBron, JR, and Love have any real playoff experience? I'm hoping the same thing, win or lose, they need to start the game with more intensity.
Posted By: leadtheway Re: Cavs // NBA continued - 04/15/18 09:41 PM
These switches are dumb
Posted By: DCDAWGFAN Re: Cavs // NBA continued - 04/15/18 09:41 PM
I hate the moving screen call. 90% of all screens in the NBA look like moving screens to me.
Posted By: leadtheway Re: Cavs // NBA continued - 04/15/18 09:42 PM
Need more urgency
Posted By: leadtheway Re: Cavs // NBA continued - 04/15/18 09:43 PM
Getting worked inside
Posted By: Psydeffect Re: Cavs // NBA continued - 04/15/18 09:43 PM
Green's so bad they're leaving him open purposely.
Posted By: DCDAWGFAN Re: Cavs // NBA continued - 04/15/18 09:43 PM
Please take Jeff Green out.. I have nothing against him but this just is not his night.
Posted By: leadtheway Re: Cavs // NBA continued - 04/15/18 09:43 PM
That should do it
Posted By: 3rd_and_20 Re: Cavs // NBA continued - 04/15/18 09:43 PM
Oh no
Posted By: Swish Re: Cavs // NBA continued - 04/15/18 09:43 PM
green is 0-6 from the field.

and DC: not many players on the pacers have playoff experience, or at least deep playoff experience.

yet they are bringing it.
Posted By: DCDAWGFAN Re: Cavs // NBA continued - 04/15/18 09:44 PM
25 minutes for Green so far, 0 points, 0 assists, 4 rebounds... c'mon man.
Posted By: DCDAWGFAN Re: Cavs // NBA continued - 04/15/18 09:45 PM
The Pacers are bringing it because they have something to prove, they have hunger. Can't help but think the young Cavs just assumed LeBron will get this done in the end.
Posted By: leadtheway Re: Cavs // NBA continued - 04/15/18 09:48 PM
This trash ass switching everything needs to go along with Lue
Posted By: jfanent Re: Cavs // NBA continued - 04/15/18 09:48 PM
Again.....why did we pick Anthony Bennett instead of Victor Oladipo?
Posted By: Swish Re: Cavs // NBA continued - 04/15/18 09:49 PM
we have players who should have something to prove as well.

yet they aren't bringing it. if they're expecting lebron to simply carry them, we're gonna get bounced in the first round.
Posted By: DCDAWGFAN Re: Cavs // NBA continued - 04/15/18 09:51 PM
James, Green, Hood, Clarkson, Calderon, Korver... a combined 0-16 from 3 point line.
Posted By: DCDAWGFAN Re: Cavs // NBA continued - 04/15/18 09:51 PM
I think they decided they need to start bringing it when we were down by 20...
Posted By: Swish Re: Cavs // NBA continued - 04/15/18 09:53 PM
lets hope this game is indeed the wake up call.
Posted By: leadtheway Re: Cavs // NBA continued - 04/15/18 09:54 PM
Horrible offensive sets
Posted By: leadtheway Re: Cavs // NBA continued - 04/15/18 09:55 PM
No urgency
Posted By: leadtheway Re: Cavs // NBA continued - 04/15/18 09:59 PM
Just a bad showing by all, they play like this anymore and it’s a first round bounce
Posted By: DCDAWGFAN Re: Cavs // NBA continued - 04/15/18 10:00 PM
Oh well, gonna have to win at least 1 on the road.
Posted By: ExclDawg Re: Cavs // NBA continued - 04/15/18 10:01 PM
I'd say to throw the game plan in the trash, but I don't think anyone on the team could hit the trash.
Posted By: DCDAWGFAN Re: Cavs // NBA continued - 04/15/18 10:04 PM
LeBron needs more than 56 points from the rest of the team.

It's the home games on national TV that have been our bane all year.

Well all of these will be on national tv so we better get over that.
Posted By: 3rd_and_20 Re: Cavs // NBA continued - 04/15/18 10:10 PM
Just way way way too many missed shots.
Posted By: Dawgs4Life Re: Cavs // NBA continued - 04/15/18 10:37 PM
we'll sill win the series, but no chance we make the finals IMO

i'm not sure thats a given, we have alot going against, They owned us in the regular season, so they aren't scared of us. They matchup well with us. We have Lue, We still can't play defense and our offense has no flow. Next game is imo the biggest one of the series. We have to respond. It needs to be a convincing win, not this eek out a win type stuff...we need to return the blowout and get things back on track . Being the 4 seed we have the most difficult round 1 matchup. So its either going to make our break our playoff lives. We will either get bounced, or we will come together and roll, we've seen both sides of the coin from this team.

the only kind of hunger a Cav has shown lately is when Tristan was
racking up inside Lana Blair last week
Posted By: Iluvmyxstripper Re: Cavs // NBA continued - 04/15/18 11:11 PM
it really doesn't matter cause LeBron is gone after the season
Posted By: BuckDawg1946 Re: Cavs // NBA continued - 04/16/18 07:24 AM

1 Jose
2 jr
3 lbj
4 Kevin
