I figured since mocks are hitting the board, this might come in handy. You pick the team, number of rounds, have 5-6 options of what big board you want to use. I usually use the composite board.

Have fun

I just did 4 rounds: Mariota, Shelton, Maxx, Grasu...nice.

Glad top see Tull getting some more love. In reality he will probably go in the 4th. He will shoot up the boards. His pro day was on Tuesday. He didn't run at the combine but killed everything else. At the pro day he ran 4.57 which puts him near the top in speed at his position.

Davis Tull is my official sleeper....has been as well. The kid can play.

Wow. This was fun....

I used their big board integrated into their website and this is how our draft went....

#12 - Jameis Winston QB/Florida State (No trades, he just dropped).
#19 - Ereck Flowers OT/Miami
2nd - Xavier Cooper DT/Washington State
3rd - Nelson Agholor WR/USC
4th - Shaq Mason OG/Georgia Tech
4th - Nick O'Leary TE/Florida State
5th - Corey Crawford DE/Clemson
6th - Jake Ryan OLB/Michigan
6th - Max Garcia C/Florida
7th - Justin Manton K/UL Monroe

This would be a STELLAR draft...Literally hits EVERY need we have.

Honestly, do you guys not feel like rubes using this thing? I used to think their algorithm and rankings were just terrible, but I realized last year it's just rigged. They give you completely unrealistic options when you draft so you can show what a great draft you pull off, will share it with other people, then they will come to the site to use their system, and they make money off the ads. It's kind of genius, but I just have to roll my eyes at these mocks that show us getting Jameis or Cooper or Fowler... I mean do you really think those guys will be there at 12? Sorry if this offends anyone, I like all you guys, it just kinda drives me nuts.
Posted By: Ballpeen Re: Mock draft generator...you be the GM - 03/04/15 03:43 PM
Not really. At least any more of a rube then sitting there and simply making picks. It is what it is. I think everybody knows that the real draft never looks like any of the mock drafts or projections.

That's true, I guess it's just all in fun. It's not like you really have to prepare to do a real draft, we're all fans. I'll keep it to myself. My bad.
Posted By: Ballpeen Re: Mock draft generator...you be the GM - 03/04/15 03:55 PM
Not bad at all. I mostly agree.

I just ran a 4 round draft picking for the Titans just to see how the Browns drafted without my input or desire.

Alvin Dupree
Landon Collins
Dorial B Green
Jay Ajaji
Stephone Anthony
Andy Gallik.

I don't think we would go the safety, though it is a good pick, nor do I think we would go RB that early.

Anthony is the only one I think is a bad pick.

Just for fun Steve. I don't think anyone would take these auto-mocks seriously but it gives some folks, like me, who don't have the time to put into a serious mock, a chance to play too.

You make some very good points.

I understand it's 110% unrealistic. This one had Amari Cooper dropping to 30th.

It's just for fun. Good way to kill 5 minutes at work. tongue

They also have Manage the Cap, where you can cut players, offer contracts to free agents, etc.... It'd be cool if they combined the two and allowed for trades (using the trade value chart or something legit)

First off, I want to say that this thing is hilariously bad. With that said, it is also very fun.

I would like to share my picks (with analysis):

12: R1P12
FB JALSTON FOWLER ALABAMA

Analysis: My favorite player in the draft. I couldn't risk some other team taking him because then I would cry. He reminds me of a rhino crossed with a bulldozer.

19: R1P19
TE MAXX WILLIAMS MINNESOTA

Analysis: When you have the chance to take a player with two Xs in his name you have to do it. I just hope he doesn't making a diving catch across the middle of the field when his QB overthrows him, leading to a concussion. People will turn on him quickly if that happens.

43: R2P11 WR NELSON AGHOLOR USC

Analysis: My favorite receiver in the draft. Runs good routes, is pretty fast, not small.

77: R3P13
WR TY MONTGOMERY STANFORD

Analysis: No one likes him besides me. Plus, he went to Stanford and is black. That means he is smart.

108: R4P12
CB NICK MARSHALL AUBURN

Analysis: I saw him play a bunch of national TV. He was a QB then and was pretty good.

112: R4P16
P KYLE LOOMIS PORTLAND STATE

Analysis: I think Spencer Lanning is not good. I don't know who this person is or if he is good. Kyle could even be a woman. I literally don't know. I just know that he was listed as a punter.

139: R5P11
WR GEORGE FARMER USC

Analysis: Very talented. Might be better a CB. Purely a project.

173: R6P13
OT D.J. HUMPHRIES FLORIDA

Analysis: This is so dumb.

DE DARYL WAUD WESTERN ONTARIO

Analysis: I felt like we needed a Canadian on the team. I am pretty sure this Western Ontario is in Canada, although I really don't know. Also, the Canadians need to redeem themselves after the Danny Watkins debacle. This is their chance.

204: R7P12
RB MALCOLM BROWN TEXAS

Analysis: I am hoping people will think this is the defensive player with the same name from the same school.

Paul Pozluszny is not a free agent.

The Skrine and Dan Williams deals are absurd.

You got a 2nd round to go from 12 to 13 lol
Posted By: tru_dawgs Re: Mock draft generator...you be the GM - 03/04/15 07:01 PM
I've never done one of the Sim drafts...

1a.Danny Shelton DT

1b. Jalen Strong WR

2. Bendarick McKinney- I think he can play multiple LB spots

3. Tevin Coleman RB- best player, and just a favorite of mine

4. Bryce Petty QB

4b. Daryl Williams OT

5. Nick O'Leary TE

6. Andy Gallik C

6b. Shaq Riddick OLB

7. Damorious Russell S

Pretty fun...yet the projections seemed off...Danny Shelton was the #28 best player...I think a lot of my picks would be gone a round earlier or two.
I was just doing this for fun. I used the Drafttek big board. Past the first 3, I was just picking names until I specifically targeted Ficken in the 7th.

12: R1P12 MARCUS MARIOTA, QB, OREGON
19: R1P19 MAXX WILLIAMS, TE, MINNESOTA
43: R2P11 JAELEN STRONG, WR, ARIZONA ST
77: R3P13 GABE WRIGHT, DT, AUBURN
108: R4P12 JOSUE MATIAS, G, FLORIDA ST
112: R4P16 TYLER LOCKETT, WR, KANSAS ST
139: R5P11 STEVE NELSON, CB, OREGON ST
173: R6P13 COREY CRAWFORD, DE, CLEMSON
186: R6P26 MAX GARCIA, C, FLORIDA
204: R7P12 SAM FICKEN, PK, PENN STATE

I ran it again, to change the 108, and I got a completely different set of choices from the top.

I didn't think so, but they show him as one. Sam Bradford too. I don't recall the "offer" made to Skrine and Williams or how those cap numbers came up. I think Skrine was 5m a year and Willliams 6.

I know on the trade, as soon as the site showed me as the 13 pick, it had SF offering a 1st and 2nd as well, to move down 2 spots.

This is why these sites are to be used for fun only smile
I ran it again, this time using FanSpeak's big board. Again, Mariota fell to me at 12 (is that a sign?) I got Parker @ 19, and for the rest, I tried to follow a best value at positions of need, selecting names I have seen others talk about when I could. I couldn't pass on a guy named Shaquille Riddick, and again I like PK Ficken as my last pick.

Have you guys tried www.first-pick.com? I prefer it..... gives options to trade and generally moves a bit quicker. Gives you easy access to nfl.com scouting reports too.
Posted By: vadawgfan07 Re: Mock draft generator...you be the GM - 03/06/15 12:31 AM
I like the first pick but at times it comes up with some off the wall trades and grades ( I just did a mock and it wanted to trade me something like a 1st round #13, 2nd round #14 and 3rd round #15 to move up to the 12th pick in round 1) . For some reason my computer doesn't like the fan speak. So here was my draft.

Round 1 Pick 12: Kevin White, WR, West Virginia
Round 1 Pick 19: T.J. Clemmings, OT, Pittsburgh
Round 2 Pick 11: Eddie Goldman, DT, Florida State
Round 3 Pick 13: Preston Smith, DE, Mississippi State
Round 4 Pick 12: Kwon Alexander, OLB, LSU
Round 4 Pick 16: Ben Koyack, TE, Notre Dame
Round 5 Pick 11: B.J. Finney, C, Kansas State
Round 6 Pick 13: Deshazor Everett, CB, Texas A&M
Round 6 Pick 26: Tre McBride, WR, William & Mary
Round 7 Pick 12: Justin Manton, K, Louisiana-Monroe
Posted By: Jester Re: Mock draft generator...you be the GM - 03/06/15 12:57 AM
I am not a fan of Finney. I watched him on draftbreakdown.com and saw a guy who was just okay in pass protection but got bull rushed too easily and in the run game he got zero push.Personally, I wouldn't look at him even as an UDFA.

My favorite center is Gallik BC

For late round guys that I like:
David Andrew Georgia
Collin Rahring Indiana

Clevesteve seems to like Max Garcia from Florida. I haven't gotten around to watching him yet.
Posted By: tru_dawgs Re: Mock draft generator...you be the GM - 03/06/15 02:22 AM
Updating on Finney...when watching the combine, Finney looked really like a jelly donut more so a football player lol... The center class is odd this year, as the rankings are all over the place...I like Gallik and Garcia...And really never paid attention to Oregon's Center despite watching several of the big games the past couple years.
Posted By: clevesteve Re: Mock draft generator...you be the GM - 03/06/15 02:05 PM
I like Gallik as my number two center. Erving is my top but I like him as a tackle, too. I'd much rather use a 4th or 5th on Gallik or Garcia than a 1st on Erving to play center.

This is my ranking of the guys I like:

1) Cam Erving, FSU -- Only watched him at C vs. Georgia Tech and Oregon but he was completely dominant there.
2) Andy Gallik, BC -- He looked like the perfect ZBS center against USC. He was a grad student at BC so he's probably smart as well.
3) Max Garcia, Florida -- He is just so powerful. A real people mover at the center position. He showed it at the senior bowl, too, repeatedly stoning Shelton in one-on-ones. Not sure if I should move him ahead of Gallik now that we are going to gap scheme instead of ZBS. I don't know enough to say that for sure.
4) Dillon Day, Miss St -- Very strong and active center, finds people to block downfield. Miss St running game took a big hit when he was suspended for stomping on those LSU guys.
5) Hroniss Grasu, Oregon -- He's not a great drive blocker like some of these other guys, but he has very quick feet to put himself into position to be effective.
6) B.J. Finney, Kansas State -- I like him a little more than Jester does. He played a pretty good game against UCLA. What was interesting about that game is that their RT got hurt pretty early and they moved him outside to RT and he really held his own. Shut down Owamagbe Odighizuwa for the most part.

I haven't really checked out Dismukes yet... I have a couple Auburn games still on the DVR but man he looked not good at the combine in the positional drills.

Also, I don't have Shaq Mason here because I've never seen him play center.

This is my order of preference for addressing the position, based on their draft projections:

1) Garcia (5th)
2) Gallik (4th)
3) Erving (19)
4) Day (5th)
5) Grasu (4th)
6) Finney (5th)

I still need to watch Garcia personally but from what I have been reading I would think that he goes higher than the 5th.

I will also try to find time to look at Day.
#12 - Beasley or Dupree
#19 - Strong or La'el Collins
#43 - Perryman or Devin Smith or Tomlinson
#77 - Petty or Marpet or Kouandjio
#108 - Byron Jones
#112 - DT or BPA

Yeah I would think he'd have to on talent, but I have this problem where I keep looking at CBS' rankings as a bellweather and they still have him in the 7th. I'd be fine with him in the 4th as well. Probably didn't help him that he was banged up and couldn't do anything at the combine.

I love Grayson in the 5th. (I had in the 3rd or 4th in my mock). I have a "gut feeling" he's going to develop into a fine NFL QB. We're all looking for that sleeper or sort of slightly under the radar guy, and I've anointed him as mine!

If you want Parker you're ganna end up having to take him at 12..

If any of the top 3 WRs even make it that far..
I picked him because he was still there.

A little trade happy at the start .... But who wouldn't want 5 2nd round picks !! Not that I really know what to do with them!

Your Picks:
Round 1 Pick 16 (HOU): DeVante Parker, WR, Louisville (A)
Round 1 Pick 25 (CAR): Cameron Erving, OT/OG, Florida State (A)
Round 2 Pick 11: Jaelen Strong, WR, Arizona State (B)
Round 2 Pick 12 (N.O.): Carl Davis, DT/DE, Iowa (A-)
Round 2 Pick 19 (HOU): Jordan Phillips, DT, Oklahoma (B)
Round 2 Pick 22 (DET): Devin Funchess, WR/TE, Michigan (B)
Round 2 Pick 25 (CAR): Denzel Perryman, ILB/OLB, Miami (Fla.) (B+)
Round 3 Pick 13: Davis Tull, OLB, Chattanooga (B-)
Round 4 Pick 12: Donovan Smith, OT, Penn State (A-)
Round 4 Pick 16: Jeff Heuerman, TE, Ohio State (D)
Round 5 Pick 11: Josh Harper, WR, Fresno State (D)
Round 6 Pick 13: Nick Boyle, TE, Delaware (C-)
Round 6 Pick 26: Deion Barnes, DE, Penn State (B-)
Round 7 Pick 12: David Andrews, C, Georgia (D-)
So this time I used the First Pick site recommended by Attack Dawg. I traded down from the 12 spot 3 times, each time picking up a 2nd rounder.

Your score is: 4987 (GRADE: A-)

Your Picks:
Round 1 Pick 17 (S.D.): DeVante Parker, WR, Louisville (A)
Round 1 Pick 19: Eddie Goldman, DT, Florida State (B+)
Round 2 Pick 11: Maxx Williams, TE, Minnesota (B+)
Round 2 Pick 12 (N.O.): Benardrick McKinney, ILB, Mississippi State (A-)
Round 2 Pick 15 (MIA): Jake Fisher, OT, Oregon (A-)
Round 2 Pick 16 (S.D.): Hauoli Kikaha, OLB/DE, Washington (B-)
Round 3 Pick 18 (HOU): Garrett Grayson, QB, Colorado State (B)
Round 4 Pick 12: Jalston Fowler, FB, Alabama (B)
Round 4 Pick 16: Andy Gallik, C, Boston College (B)
Round 4 Pick 17 (HOU): Anthony Chickillo, DE, Miami (Fla.) (B-)
Round 5 Pick 11: Chris Conley, WR, Georgia (C)
Round 6 Pick 13: Stefon Diggs, WR, Maryland (E)
Round 6 Pick 26: Deshazor Everett, CB, Texas A&M (C+)
Round 7 Pick 12: Sam Ficken, K, Penn State (D-)

It didn't like my pick of Conley in the 5th, and hated my pick of Diggs in the 6th and Ficken in the 7th, but by that time I had filled all the major needs, so I got Diggs to return kicks and Ficken to make them.

To be honest, I don't like all the trade down options. I have never seen a team with 4-5 2nd round picks in a draft. But hey, if that was what you were allowed to do.....cool.
My 2015 draft choices:

#12 - DT, Shelton or DE, Dupree or DT, Brown
#19 - WR, Strong or DE, Beasley
#43 - OG, Tomlinson or OG, Marpet or WR, Devin Smith
#77 - QB, Petty or OT, Havenstein or OG, Kouandjio
#108 - CB, Byron Jones
#112 - QB, Garrett Grayson or OT, Daryl Williams
#139 - WR, Montgomery or TE, Kroft
#173 - FS, Drummond or OG, Shepherd
#186 - WR, Austin Hill
#204 - TE, Nick Boyle

Trying out different draft boards on Fanspeak..

Drafteks just gave me Cooper at 12 and Shelton at 19..

..Yeah.
Posted By: Ballpeen Re: Mock draft generator...you be the GM - 03/19/15 12:22 PM
Going back to something Steve said early on, I did a 4 round draft as the Titans to see what was picked for the Browns. To see if it took in to account our needs etc. Overall I'd say it was a pretty decent draft.

Landon Collins
Ereck Flowers
Devin Funchess
Trey Flowers
Mike Hull
Joey Mbu
So as not to create a mock for every one we do, here is my first mock taking into consideration the recent FA signing the Browns completed using the Fanspeak which does not allow for any trades that might be made;

http://fanspeak.com/ontheclock/draft.php?d=avthcf

I like this about Fanspeak in that the link allows you all to see who was available when I picked and I don't have to try and re-format a list and take up unnecessary space here.

Why I took who I did at the positions;

1st RD:
12: DE DANTE FOWLER JR. – FLORIDA: I don’t see how he fall’s this far. However, if he is there at 12, this is one of our first string run stuffing DE for the next several years.

19: DT MALCOM BROWN – TEXAS: I gave a pass on Sheldon at 12 only because of the caliber of player and depth there is in this draft for DT. At any rate, I think adding both Brown and Fowler should lock down the D front line with the quality depth we have for rotation.

2nd & 3rd RD:
43: WR DEVIN SMITH - OHIO STATE:
77: WR BRESHAD PERRIMAN – UCF:
I know everyone is talking like we “have” to take a WR in the first round. I don’t agree. This year’s depth of high quality WR is comparable to last years. Adding two day 2 receivers who are close in stat’s to the two FA wide receivers we just signed to develop behind, I can easily see the depth chart for WR being Bowe/Perriman on one side and Hartline/Smith on the other.

4th RD:
108: TE JEFF HEUERMAN - OHIO STATE:
112: OT ROB HAVENSTEIN – WISCONSIN:
We really could go into the season with the 2 TE we have in Barnidge and Gray, but I would rather have an additional TE and really like Heuerman (yea I’m an OSU homer). Rob, to me, is a big corn fed project/developmental OT who would do well being groomed behind his Badger Alum Joe Thomas

5th RD:
139: CB DORAN GRANT - OHIO STATE: This was my one, BPA as I didn’t really see anyone on the board that really jumped out at me when comparing the NFL Draft Rankings list with who was available.

6th RD:
173: FB JALSTON FOWLER – ALABAMA: This is the Offensive pick that will make stars out of the RB core we already have and help whoever is at QB look better by giving him extra time in the pocket.

186: S ADRIAN AMOS - PENN STATE: BPA and team need. Mostly don’t put too much stock in 6-7th rounds but always hopeful to hit on a late round gem.

7th RD:
204: G BEN BECKWITH - MISSISSIPPI STATE: BPA and depth for the OL.

Well there it is for what it's worth. I purposely did not take a QB in this draft because I see this draft having good quality depth across the trenches that can potentially allow the Browns to use all the picks they need, if any, to move up and get the Franchise QB of the future next year. I may have missed on the ILB/OLB but those positions seemed thin to me this year. I would go with what we have or get some Vet FA or UDFA to fill in at depth. If need be look at those positions early next year.

Anyone care to offer their thoughts?

This is where my head is at the moment...

Round 1 Pick 12: DeVante Parker, WR, Louisville (A)
Round 1 Pick 19: Preston Smith, DE, Mississippi State (B)
Round 2 Pick 11: Paul Dawson, OLB/ILB, TCU (B-)
Round 3 Pick 13: Grady Jarrett, DT, Clemson (A)
Round 4 Pick 12: B.J. Finney, C, Kansas State (A)
Round 4 Pick 16: Darren Waller, WR/TE, Georgia Tech (D+)
Round 5 Pick 11: Jalston Fowler, FB, Alabama (A)
Round 6 Pick 13: Clayton Geathers, SS, UCF (B-)
Round 6 Pick 26: Ryan Russell, DE, Purdue (C)
Round 7 Pick 12: Antwan Goodley, WR, Baylor (D)

Parker, Smith, Dawson, Jarrett and Waller are the guys I'd expect to provide immediate impact.

Very good. I think I read where Manton is trying to be a punter in the NFL, even though he did both at college. That, and he has no experience as a cold weather kicker, has me leaning toward Ficken from Penn State. But if that is our draft, I'm dancing.
Posted By: ThatGuy Re: Mock draft generator...you be the GM - 03/21/15 07:45 PM
I will admit to not being very knowledgable about college kickers.. I just picked the highest rated one..

I honestly doubt we'll even draft one.. As you can sign a couple as UDFA and have them battle it out with Hartley (if he's even still here?)

As you have pointed out yourself these DIY draft generators are flawed. I try not to indulge in the obvious miss-evaluation of prospects. But they have consistently undervalued Goodley throughout draft season. I think a 4-5 round grade is probably fair for him. He can return kicks and I see him being able to do some Percy Harvin type stuff also.
Posted By: ThatGuy Re: Mock draft generator...you be the GM - 03/23/15 04:15 AM
I took Stefon Diggs with our 2nd 6th rounder and got a D for it...

And apparently you get a D- if you take any kicker at all..
I keep doing these, and if I take a WR and DT in the first, I always seem to miss out on the good edge rushers. So this time I took Beasley first, and this is the result (composite big board.)

12: R1P12 OLB VIC BEASLEY CLEMSON

That's it, I'm addicted. I will be joining JFF in rehab soon. I know this is a flawed generator. The results vary greatly from run to run, even using the same criteria. And it doesn't matter which big board you use, it always uses the FanSpeak list of needs and need weighting.

I tried a new approach this time, for the most part letting the draft come to me and drafting the best available player (by CBS rank) at positions of need. There were exceptions; Brown and Odighizua in the first, Fowler in the 5th, and Diggs in the 6th were moderate reaches.

Brown is my top pick at NT. I know many prefer Shelton, but I want Brown if available. Odighizua is new on my radar. At first I dismissed him because of the hip surgery. In my mind that automatically made him too much of a health risk for that high a pick. But then others here have been advocating him, so I looked at tape. I am impressed, and if he can be that disruptive post surgery, and he can pass an NFL physical, I want him.

Others on the board have also sold me on Fowler and Diggs so I took them when they came closer then my next pick.

Been home sick, nothing better to do...

Round 1 Pick 12: Cameron Erving, OT/OG, Florida State (B+)Erving address multiple problems.
Round 1 Pick 26 (BALT): Jordan Phillips, DT, Oklahoma (B)As part of a three man NT rotation he is a fit.
Round 2 Pick 11: Paul Dawson, OLB/ILB, TCU Best instincts of any LB in draft
Round 2 Pick 26 (BALT): Devin Smith, WR, Ohio State (A-)
Round 3 Pick 13: Jeff Heuerman, TE, Ohio State (B)
Round 3 Pick 26 (BALT): Eric Rowe, CB/FS, Utah (B-)Versatile DB
Round 4 Pick 12: Anthony Chickillo, DE, Miami (Fla.) (A-)
Round 4 Pick 16: Davis Tull, OLB, Chattanooga (B+)Scouts say he has starter skills as pass rusher

If we selected the 8 above and traded the balance of our picks for 16' I'd be happy

Round 5 Pick 11: Ladarius Gunter, CB, Miami (Fla.) (D)
Round 6 Pick 13: Antwan Goodley, WR, Baylor (F)
Round 6 Pick 26: Junior Sylvestre, OLB/ILB, Toledo (F)

Way too much offense.

Melvin Gordon III would be a swell guy to have, but I don't think it necessary.. I'm ok with the two guys we got (more so Crowell)

Plus, you forgot to draft The Giant Fullback From Alabama™
Posted By: Tubby_Dawg Re: Mock draft generator...you be the GM - 04/02/15 01:11 PM
What you guys think about this mock? I went heavy with both OL and DL we need depth as well as some starters on both. I highly doubt we draft 3 OL, or 3 DL but my opinion that is where we need the most help. Our secondary is set, our LBs are solid, as far as the O we are set at RB West and Crowell are more than capable of holding off the need to draft another RB, Our WR core is solid with out additions of Bowe and Hartline....TE is a concern thats why I drafted the big guy Jesse James the dude is 6'7" and is athletic for his size....lets hear your thoughts DAWGS!

Please, somebody stop him...he's at it again. Oh, the humanity.

Paid the $5.95 for the premium generator, allowing me to make trades. Traded the 1-19 to the Titans for the 2-1, 3-2, and 5-2. Then in the sixth I was eyeing Pullard and Goodley, so I traded the 6-29 and 7-12 for the 6-14...but then Pullard was taken before my now back-to-back picks came up, so I ended up taking DePriest who probably would have been there at 6-29 anyway frown

I've come to realize how much I like a mock I do, is in direct correlation to Maxx Williams falling to #43.
I have been approaching these mock drafts taking a DT with one of the first round picks, the 2nd round at the latest. But Mariota was there at #12. I don't like the idea of trading up for him, but if he's there, take him and run. Then at #19, all the best DT were gone, and Parker was there, so I gave Mariota a weapon. I traded back in the 2nd. Having missed my favorite DT options, I took an ILB, and an edge rusher in the 3rd. The next 5 picks were all about offense, TE, line depth, our favorite FB, and a 2nd WR for 'Good'ley measure. The last picks were guys I don't know but filled the DT and OLB "needs." (I just missed Mbu.)

Round 1 Pick 12: Danny Shelton, DT, Washington
-Huge at 6-2 and 340lbs.Could man the NT spot for 10 years. Our Vince Wilfork.

Round 1 Pick 23 (DET): Arik Armstead, DT/DE, Oregon
-I traded pick 19 to DET for pick 23 and their 2nd. 6-7 and athletic. Could become our Calais Campbell.

Round 2 Pick 11: Maxx Williams, TE, Minnesota
-Probably won't fall this far. Replaces Jordan Cameron easily. Him and Housler on the field could allow for two receiving tight ends on the field at the same time.

Round 2 Pick 22 (DET): Hroniss Grasu, C, Oregon
-Good center. Can replace Mack if he voids his contract after this season

Round 3 Pick 13: Devin Smith, WR, Ohio State
-Big play guy. Not a consistently good receiver but is a home run threat.

Round 4 Pick 12: Cedric Ogbuehi, OT, Texas A&M
-Can play both sides of the line.

Round 4 Pick 16: Lynden Trail, DE/TE, Norfolk State
-A project. He is 6-7 and played 3-4 LB in college and some TE. Played WR is high school. Worth the spot based on potential.

Round 5 Pick 11: Jalston Fowler, FB, Alabama
-Huge blocker

Round 6 Pick 13: Justin Manton, K, Louisiana-Monroe
-We need a kicker. Accurate in college

Round 6 Pick 26: Austin Hill, WR, Arizona
-Big receiver who could add some needed size to the WR corps.

Round 7 Pick 12: Cody Fajardo, QB, Nevada
-Athletic QB who could fit the mold for Flip

If I say so, with all the humility I can muster...I think this might be my best mock yet.

...and I wanted Steve to see the score I got for Goodley in the 7th!

Round 1 Pick 25 (CAR): Carl Davis, DT/DE, Iowa (C+)

Here are a few players that may be staring us in the face at pick 12:

Danny Shelton, NT. He would figure to be an upgrade. Taylor is a capable 2-down run stopper, but Shelton has the potential to be a huge game changing talent. Shelton may be bigger and quicker than Taylor at this point. And Taylor has missed 20 of the past 64 games and now enters a contract year. Kitchen would be the odd man out, but could still see playing time while Taylor would be asked to be more of a versatile player across the line. This would be a great pick, as long term depth along the D-line and especially at nose tackle is a primary need. Taylor and Kitchen will probably be free agents in eleven months.

Devante Parker, Kevin White, Amari Cooper, WR. Any of the three would be an upgrade for WR1 and WR2. Bowe was the one of the worst in the NFL last year at separating from coverage. And Hartline was terribly outplayed by a second rounder last year and there should be wide receiver talent available at picks 12, 19, and 43 that would qualify as upgrades to the players currently at the top of the depth chart.

Todd Gurley, Melvin Gordon RB. I'm a huge fan of Crowell and will bet on him going over a thousand yards this season if no other backs are added. Gurley though, and Gordon to an extent, could even be better players. All three have superstar potential. It would be fun to watch the depth chart sort itself out if a quality back is added in one of the early rounds.

Randy Gregory, OLB. Kruger was our sack leader and is pretty solid, so it might not be possible to upgrade his spot with a rookie. Mingo however has to prove himself this year. I'm willing to draw a line through his 2014 season and say he could play much, much better. In this draft, Fowler, Jr. and Beasley would almost definitely qualify as upgrades. Gregory looks like a freakish talent and might easily step right in and be the teams best pass rusher. Bud Dupree and Shane Ray probably would need some seasoning before they could overtake Mingo if he reverts back to his 2014 form.

Marcus Mariota, QB. There seems to be a lot of uncertainty when predicting where Mariota will land, and although unlikely, it would not be shocking to see him available at 12 in which case it would be hard to pass on him considering he would immediately become the most talented quarterback on the roster.

Brandon Scherff, La'el Collins, O-line. Both Scherff and Collins are extremely versatile players and either one would most likely immediately start somewhere on the right side. Greco and Schwartz are above average players, so it's hard to see the team taking a linemen very early, but there are so many quality ones in this draft class(others are TJ Clemmings and Andrus Peat) that either of the incumbents might be asked to switch positions or provide depth.

(end)
Now this one is absolutely ridiculous. Once again I traded the #19 for Tampa's 2-2, 3-1, and 5-26, giving me 2 picks in each of rounds 2-6. Then Mariota fell to 12. That has happened before, but what usually happens is the rest of the draft disintegrates. This time desirable players just kept falling to me.

How the heck did you get Erving in the 3rd?
Some of the 'Big Boards' are whacked. I've pretty much stopped posting my runs, but my compulsive tendencies are currently manifesting themselves in my running 2-3 of these a day (need my fix.) I usually run the Composite, the FanSpeak, the CBS, or the Drafttek boards. I've paid the $6 one-time fee to be able to make trades. I'm currently on a kick of trading the #12 for a 2016 1st and a 2015 4th; and the #19 for a lower 1st and a 3rd. Then I try to trade up once or twice along the way with the goal of getting 7 picks in the first 5 rds with a 1st for next year.

This is the last one Im going to post til the draft. I would be happy if it turned out something like this as it helps fill alot of our problem areas...thoughts?
Did a straight draft using Walter's big board (a new choice on OTC.) Boy was I surprised when my late round hidden treasure came into view in the 3rd round. I guess Walter sees in Gwacham what I see. Of course this run is pure fantasy from the jump with Mariota falling to 12. If he's there, I gotta take him. Also, the early six was a choice between Conley and Fowler. I like Fowler, but I believe WR was more important than FB at that point.

Based on the rankings at cbssports.com (had to pick an online baseline)

Players that should be available (with overall cbs rank in parenthesis)

1a) DeVante Parker (rank 12)--WR--Louisville---self explanatory

1b) La'el Collins (rank 23)--OT- LSU---again, topis has been well covered

2) Carl Davis (rank 52) --DE- Iowa---I still think Phil Taylor will be better at nose than end so Davis over Jordan Phillips (ranked 50...with back issues)

3) Denzel Perryman (rank 85)-- ILB-Miami---height concerns don't really mean as much with ILB to me as they apparently do with the internet scouts. To me the 2nd best ILB.

4a) Ben Koyack (rank 126)--TE- Notre Dame-- Still assuming a run on TE's early on day 3 and this kid reminds me of Heath Miller

4b) Kurtis Drummond (rank 141)--FS- Michigan State---Another year, another DB. Whitner will be 30 by the season's start and Gipson is a pending FA at year's end (though I'm hopeful of an extension) ATM, our safety depth is two special team guys (Poyer and Bademosi)

5) Obum Gwacham (rank 144)---OLB- Oregon State---Converted from a WR/Receiving TE, Gwacham is about as raw as it gets but super-athletic and seems to learn fast for one year of film...ps, it's oh-BOOM, not Oh-BUM smile

6a) Sean Hickey (rank 199)---OG- Syracuse--Yes, he played tackle in college but even then he clearly prefered to latch on to the defender than kick-step and hand-fight. Definitely a better guard prospect than tackle. Unfortunately, I can't find a later round backup center that peaks my interest.

6b) CJ Uzomah (rank 211)--TE- Auburn---yes another TE and yes quite raw, but, as may be apparent by my lack of drafting a center, in the later rounds need has absolutely no place in the decision. Besides, with the crap we might be putting out there on the field, I could argue that 2 TE's are needed...probably not, but...

7) Corey Grant (rank 290)--RB- Auburn ---limited experience catching the ball thanks to Auburn's system, but well built with undeniable speed and should immediately push for the return duties and gunning.

Sooo...not my most hopeful (based on a website's rankings after all) and a lot of day 3 projects, but then again...it's day 3, they're all projects.
I like it. I'm a fan of Davis, Perryman, Koyack and Gwacham. Drummond, Hickey, Uzomah, and Grant are names for me to research. Thanks.

I really like the idea of drafting ILB and DT early. This one had me taking Brown at #19 and Dawson at #43. I could have gone Kendricks at #19 and Davis at #43. I wonder which is the better combo? I took both an OT and C, where others have found a single player capable of backing up both positions. Again, I wonder which is the better approach? While I like Fowler, do we need to draft a FB? Same with Conley, do we need a 2nd WR over other positions? Gwacham is a steal here, but other boards have him ranked to go as early as the 3th.

Have you done one where you pick for another team and let the computer pick for the Browns?

I'd be interested in seeing what the computer comes up with.
Ask, and receive smile

I drafted for the Bucs. I took Winston first. The generator supplies a list of needs, which for TB was pretty comprehensive, so every round I simply took the highest ranked player at a position listed and nearly every time it was the highest player listed. Here is what the computer picked for Cleveland.

12: R1P12 DT DANNY SHELTON WASHINGTON
19: R1P19 DT EDDIE GOLDMAN FLORIDA STATE
43: R2P11 WR DEVIN FUNCHESS MICHIGAN
77: R3P13 DE NATE ORCHARD UTAH
111: R4P12 QB GARRETT GRAYSON COLORADO STATE
115: R4P16 RB JEREMY LANGFORD MICHIGAN STATE
147: R5P11 CB KEVIN WHITE TCU
189: R6P13 FB TYLER VARGA YALE
202: R6P26 WR STEFON DIGGS MARYLAND
229: R7P12 CB JUSTIN COLEMAN TENNESSEE

(edited to add) It would be more informative to run this several times and compare results...not something I want to do. smile

Thanks.

I actually don't hate that draft.

I like a Wr in round 2 but Funchess is probably not in my top 10 WR.
I doubt we pick 2 DT in the 1st round.
I like Orchard and White in those rounds.
Langford is my #1 underrated Rb in this draft.

I think we need to draft a center at some point. 1st for depth this year, 2nd to cover us if Mack opts to leave at the end of the season.
I'm OK with Shelton, Goldman is redundant, no to Funchess, like Orchard, like Grayson, don't know Langford (you like him, I will look him up), OK with White there, like Varga, like Diggs as a return man and back up slot receiver, and don't know Coleman.

Lately I have been working trades. I figure this draft is weak in terms of top talent, but rich in 2nd tier talent. So I have been trying to work trades to maximize the number of picks up to 150. This isn't my best effort in terms number and distribution of picks, but in teams of the players drafted, I think this is one of my better efforts. There were 2 reaches, Grayson with my only 3rd, and because I only had 2 defensive players before my last pick and Taiwan Jones was the highest ranked ILB (Hayes Pullard was still there, but ranked lower.)

You certainly did enough of these. This one, folks would be saying you didn't get Danny Shelton, instead, Malcolm Brown, but then ... later you get Joey Mbu, and I'm saying, that'd shut them up. If you get Mbu then what does Shelton offer you that Mbu doesn't

Wow! What does Shelton give you, at top of the first, that Joey Mbu, somewhere past the 100th selection doesn't.

I don't think anything. Which really blows my mind.

Either way, the fact they have Phil Taylor, Ishmaily Kitchen, and John Hughes, makes me sad about a Shelton pick if it happens, than in a year where they'd not have a plug stopper to play nose tackle.

Yeah...I can't help myself, after next weekend I'm going to need to go to rehab. Maybe JFF can make me a recommendation smile

I did the same thing as you and did a draft as the Bucs to see what the computer gave the Browns.

Round 1 Pick 10 (10) (STL) Browns: Randy Gregory, DE/OLB, Nebraska
Round 1 Pick 19 (19) Browns: Breshad Perriman, WR, UCF
Round 3 Pick 11 (75) (N.O.) Browns: Nate Orchard, OLB/DE, Utah
Round 4 Pick 7 (106) (CHI) Browns: Bryce Petty, QB, Baylor
Round 6 Pick 1 (177) (TENN) Browns: Blake Bell, TE, Oklahoma
Round 7 Pick 12 (229) Browns: Randall Evans, CB, Kansas State

I did it one more time to see if it would overlap at all

Round 1 Pick 12 (12) Browns: DeVante Parker, WR, Louisville
Round 1 Pick 19 (19) Browns: Andrus Peat, OT, Stanford
Round 2 Pick 4 (36) (JAX) Browns: Owamagbe Odighizuwa, DE/OLB, UCLA
Round 4 Pick 8 (107) (ATL) Browns: Garrett Grayson, QB, Colorado State
Round 4 Pick 11 (110) (MINN) Browns: Clive Walford, TE, Miami (Fla.)
Round 7 Pick 12 (229) Browns: Randall Evans, CB, Kansas State

I think I'd prefer the first draft. These were both on 1st pick and apparently to computer believes we are destined to make 6 picks
