I can't wait until dray is gone...his blocking has regressed to where he's worst than Jordan Cameron...he doesn't even fight for the ball, idk how many passes he has half assed this year

Of all the things to complain about...Jim Dray.
We have alot to complain about...he is nowhere near where he was last year...just saying he's part of the problem...Has ended many drives because of drops and lack of effort
Prior to even selecting him, I thought if he was going to be our pick (and I liked him too) I wish we put some language in his contract about his weight...he's so overweight and needs to be 320-330...I bet he's 375lbs...Hopefully much better next year

Remember in early 2000s Detroit took that guard Aaron Gibson..stated he was over 410lbs and the team refused to list him over 350lbs haha weird... And he busted quickly

By "player" do you mean "a guy on the roster in uniform"? Because he's not really making any plays. LOL
Its all about how JM operates against a great D for me. The D is what it is.
I just hope they stick with gameplan on offense regardless of score, we know this defense isn't stopping anyone that's hit puberty, so let's get a good eval of where offense and Johnny is
Why? He busted his ass from day ONE and beat out a QB they had just traded for. He's played at a high level from his first game. I'd take that.
He wasn't good his rookie year and he's short.
And you're never happy with anything.
He was good his rookie year. Good enough to START. Good enough to beat out a QB they had just traded for. And I'll be happy when we aren't the joke of the league. When our "hero" QB would rather play than party. Not asking much.

I think that was a great first drive to calm everyone down. Get the jitters out.

I wish I would have married Cindy Crawford back in the day
"Commit to Manziel? OK...I'll buy it for 2016. Keep Pettine? Only if O'Neil is sent packing. Ray Farmer? No. No way. The Browns cannot waste ANOTHER draft. I'm flexible but not on Farmer. He MUST go."
If Johnny is our franchise QB then there is more reason for Farmer to stay than Pettine has. Farmer is the GM that FINALLY drafted our franchise QB. Right? Then there is Duke....
Feel bad for him I honestly do lol he should only be on special teams...But with Gilbert, KWilliams, and Haden all out..we have no other whipping boys left lol

I wondered that too..Desir wasn't lights out then again none of our corners are...But with his length and our injuries I wonder why they keep throwing Gaines in instead of Desir

Funny, when Manziel was horrid the pick was made because HAslam wanted him. Now that he is playing well Farmer gets the credit.

First I despise Farmer. Have almost from day one. Second I've never once said Haslam made that pick. Haslam said it was Farmer, Farmer said it was Farmer, either it was Farmer or they are both liars. All I'm saying is, Farmer has done a FEW things. What accomplishment has Pettine provided?
There was a reason I thought Erving was a 3rd round pick and had him on my bust list prior to the draft...smh
If Manziel, Mayle, Gilbert, Shelton, Irving, Desir, Orchard, Cooper, Crow were all good-very good players...I wonder how much better Wed be...a win better? 3 wins better? Playoffs?
IF Johnny spent all of his time and effort on being the very best he could be. MAYBE he could be as good as Wilson. What bugs me most about him is he doesn't. He is NOT a first in last out kind of player.
Exactly. He beat out a QB they had just traded for and whom they had anointed as the starter before camp. He busted his ASS and proved he was the best choice. He IS a first in last out player.
What I wouldn't give for an imaginative coordinator...
It seems like the league has figured out the Ryan defense. Rex is struggling in Buffalo, Rob has been fired, and Pettine is the worst out of all of them.
Where the hell is Terrele Pryor and why is he not being utilized? It just makes zero sense to me. When are we actually going to get real NFL wide receivers?

Hell, Ginn drops every other pass in Carolina and they keep going to them.

I saw him a few times with a look of total confussion

He was in early and Johnny hit him in the hands and he dropped it.
You got to be kidding. ...pettine said he wants johnny tobrun more? After he said during the first Cincinnati game at halftime that he needs to stay in the pocket? !

If we have the ability to get that kind of pressure, then its a SIN we aren't using it. Our secondary is in shambles. If you can get ANY kind of pressure you DO it.
Need to mix in a few more running plays. Dropping back throwing right now. I know we are not running well but you have to stick with it to keep the Defense honest. Also, need to take a shot down field somewhere or the Hawks are going to jump a throw soon.
While Siragusa is slurping the Browns effort, don't forget that they are connected by a ton of Raven coaches (Pettine got to Baltimore in 2002, Siragusa's last year was 2001).

Flip hates the run. Look at Seattle. They are on like their 5th RB. They still run it. And run it. And keep running it. We don't.
If pagano gets fired by the Colts would any of you want him as our head coach?
He is very vanillla. But he will be an option. There won't be many other options for him. It might more of the same, Pettine coached under Pagano with the Ravens.
And yet desir doesn't see the field....why? Makes no sense when desir is Clearly better. ....these kind of decision is why pettine is just not head coaching material
Frankly, I don't have a clue as to who I'd want here. Nobody pops out at me either. It's just a wreck.
If Pettine goes, you have to find a coach that is willing to roll with Manziel.
Commit to Manziel and build the team.
You really believe Johnny football can dedicate himself to football? You really think Johnny can be a first in last out kind of guy? That is the question after all. Can Johnny OFF the field, do what it takes? So far he has shown he CAN'T. They give him the rest of the season with one warning.... DON'T embarrass us. FIRST thing he does is go out partying. That isn't going to change. It's who he is.
That said, if we ARE going to go with Johnny we really need to hire an OFFENSIVE head coach. Gruden seemed to really like Johnny....
Can there even be an experienced football man out there willing to get himself into this? I can see another first time guy coming in. Heck, I don't even know why a new coach would put this upon himself.
This team isn't any better than the 1999 team. Thats pathetic.16 years later this franchise shows no sign of Progress. What is there to like.?be honest? Very little.

There are lots of guys dying to be head coaches.
Money talks. Haslam can pay a guy anything he wants. Pick your guy and go after him.
Billick could probably be had easily. Gruden might take some real coin. Cowher would probably take a HUGE pile of money.

Billick has said that teams wants coaches that are young and cheap and that he is neither of those.
They will use the rest of the clock on this drive. ...i
I was about to agree, but I think our run D is so bad they'll end up scoring with time on the clock for us to give it back to them after another 3 & out.
I blame 75% of the D's problems on Jim O'Neal ... JMHO
And I blame Jim Oneil on Mike Pettine. He hired him. He thought SO much of him in fact that during the off season Pettine stated he had been sitting in with the offense. The D was all good!

That is really unbelievable after watching how things turned out.
I blame pet....like I have been SAYING SINCE WE hired pet...he had a much more talented defense in Buffalo when he was their d coordinator and they finished like 28th against the run......its his defense

O'Neil is not on the field. If coaches had that much impact the players wouldn't make as much money as they do.
Yeah. Paul Brown had nothing at all to do with the great Browns teams of the past. Bill Walsh was insignificant in the assentation of the Niners franchise. Tell me that talent alone runs the Patriots. Belichick has very little to do with it.

IF he stays out of trouble. And IF he stays healthy. And if he can actually play the position at a high level(which has not been determined yet). Maybe he can be a franchise QB. I sure as hell wouldn't bet the franchise on that. I'd still keep looking. It's not a sin to keep yyour options open. Two QB's aren't a bad thing.

GEEZE is Shelton fat. Holy crap he needs to get in the gym! I'd hate to see what he looks like after an off season.
He is really fat. Like the fattest dude in the league fat.
First guy I can remember getting fatter as the year goes on. Usually by now the fatties are in shape. At least reasonably so. I take that back. I do remember. Shaun Rogers

The only time two QBs ever works is when the other one is already a Franchise QB.
If you have two unknowns, you have nothing, actually, less than nothing, because all it does is cause problems.

You claimed Manziel would get hurt today. He didn't.
Commit and build. Be smart for once.
And that means he will never get hurt? Fine. Committ. But that means sign him long term. REALLY commit. Bet the FARM on Johnny. Hand him a shot and a beer and stand back.

How scary is that
Did you see the DL for the Seahawks, (MeBane, 6'1" and at least 311#) early in the game, doing a dance, bouncing his gut and manboobs up and down.

Tell that to the Cowboys. They took Aikeman and Walsh. Eventually going with Aikeman and trading Walsh.... worked out fine. Brees and Rivers. Brees wasn't a franchise QB or at least the Chargers didn't see him that way.
If we get the #1 pick trade it for a kings ransom and build around Johnny ... my last comment tonight, later ...
That would be the smart thing to do.
Unfortunately, we are the Browns. We are not likely to do the smart thing.
How about this? Commitment goes both ways. So if we commit to Johnny and he has just ONE dumbass twitter pick or other brian fart, we CUT him immediately. Fair enough? As long as he is the first player in the building, and the last one to leave? We are committed. The MINUTE he is NOT that guy, we aren't married anymore. I want to see if he is willing to do what it takes before I commit. So far he's shown he ISN'T. Time to show and prove.

No one is giving up a "king's ransom" for a top pick again. Washington ruined it for everyone.
And this is why it scares the hell out of me placing all of our hopes on Johnny. One hit and he could be done. If he DIDN'T have that escape-ability? If he had a bad knee? How good would Johnny be? His legs are all of him....

Yes other QB's get hurt. NOT all QB's need their legs as much as Johnny does. Not every QB is as small as Johnny. Cam Newton is huge. Now if we had that guy I wouldn't mind him running around. Not like this is my call anyway. I'm sure you'll be happy and Johnny will be the man next year. Maybe it will work out. Odds are against it. But who knows? Peace

I'm so tired of this crap. WTF has he done wrong this year other than disobey daddy?!? I honestly think you guys are trolls who never want us to win. The hatred for this kid is just mind boggling to me.
It is like my golf game...17 bad holes but I always remember that ONE hole and I keep playing more b/c that one hole could be every hole!
That is what keeps so many people golfing....not recognizing what's the norm and what's a fluke. Especially when you string a few flukes in a row and shoot a decent score.

Just to be clear. I was happy when we drafted Manziel and wanted him to start game one of this season.
Your dislike for Johnny is obvious, He drinks he lies, He doesn't come to the stadium from the Heavens riding his Golden Chariot on a cloud made by God...
I'm anxious to see bad boy Johnny and bad boy Josh next season... The alter Boys haven't gotten it done ..
He doesn't hate Johnny, he's just hitched his wagon to Goff, who is probably the tenth best QB to come out in the last 4 years. But once you hitch your wagon to someone, you really go all in.
Just to be clear. I was happy when we drafted Manziel and wanted him to start game one of this season.
Things have changed.
Why have they changed?
We are going to have a top two pick and we don't know if Manziel will be good.
I understand people who feel differently. To me the amount of time Manziel has played and his off the field issues make me want to move on. I also think Goff will be a very good NFL player.

I have said that whoever is the best QB in this draft I would take. It doesn't have to be Goff. If Lynch, Cook, Wentz, or whoever else are determined to be better take them.
(Also, I didn't say the above quote. It was Spirit. The quick reply claims another victim.)

Fair enough. If there were a player like Luck coming out I would 100% agree to take a QB. I'm just not enamored with the QB class this year.
