My gang was just a few years behind, we didn't see Ozzy til No More Tears (I hate you). Then Jake E Lee left. All we had to ponder, entering the arena, was a Hit Parader pic in which Zakk looked like he should be in Poison. Raised eyebrows changed to wide eyes and gaping mouths in a hurry.

Just stumbled across this, had heard parts of some of these stories before, you'll enjoy it:

Man Zakk was so young and raw when he first started playing for Ozzy but his brilliance couldn't be denied. That's why I'm such a BLS fan still.

Can you imagine rollin' up on the Subway to pick up your meatball sub and seeing this?

"He sets the guitar down. And the guitar looks to the sky and sobs, 'please lord jesus, take me home'."

SDMF indeed.

I saw both the Blizzard of Oz and Diary of a Madman tours and I haven't seen anything better musically in my life from a pure R&R standpoint.

I saw Ozzy at the Toledo Sport Arena on the No More Tears tour. Zak Wylde on guitar. They crushed it. Ozzy’s a great frontman.

Hard to say what people think of Roy Orbison.

I thought he was great. His songs were just good songs.

Having a conversation with a friend years ago, and the subject of envy came up. I remember telling her "I don't really envy people with lots of money. I have enough money to live the way I want. I don't really envy people who wield power. That was never a bug that bit me. I do envy two well-known people: Yo-Yo Ma and Sting. And the reason I envy those two is because both of them can simply pick up a phone, call any fantastic musician from any style they might want to play with, and hear the word 'yes' automatic."

Wiki the personnel on 'Nothing Like the Sun,' the album which featured EINY. It will blow your mind.

Just last month here in Toledo, a fan yelled out to "just play some music" during one of his drawn out story sessions, and Mellencamp called him some vulgar names and walked off the stage after only playing 9 songs. Can't post a clip due to the profanities, but it's all over Youtube. He did an interview with the Washington Post explaining the behavior he expects from his fans, lol. He's become quite full of himself in his old age.

I saw him very early in his career, backed up the Kinks at Cobo Hall in Detroit around 1980. He was going by Johnny Cougar at the time. He was terrible and booed off the stage. After that, I liked some of his songs during the farm aid era. Saw him again in the late 80's/early 90's and enjoyed the show.

Saw the video. At first I kinda cringed at the "play some music" comment. After I watched the dude act like a d-bag and walk off stage I was in shock. Then I read about just how bad it has become. Point blank: nobody pays to here that ish. Save your bs for the Rolling Stone -- so nobody can read it there lol.

Lol, I was not aware of those things. It clouds my view of him a little, bit I still like a lot of his tunes. He’s always been a cranky fella.

No need to let it cloud anything. Just let the music be the music, eh?

I know you said you know him in some convoluted way, but I don't care for him all that much. But that is just my opinion.

Hey, it's the rock hall, sooner or later everybody will get a plaque, so don't worry, he will get in.

Considering Cher got in with one song of Bob Dylan's.

And a bunch of hair bands that were horrible.

Joe had a career of hits for forty years.

Honestly I don't give a damn about HOF. Music is personal preference.

I do know that that Billy Joel petitioned the HOF for Joe to go in before he died. He certainly deserved that.

While I understand that this artist was the singer in various groups he has had a long solo career as well. He was in Blind Faith, The Spencer Davis Group, Traffic and more. He puts on a fantastic show......

I know Tom Waits is not everybody's cup of tea. As a performer he is mesmerizing. He writes brilliant songs that get covered by many. He has been in numerous movies as a character actor. He was a favorite guest of Letterman's. He is witty and funny.

Here he tells a story.
