Njoku should have never been given the extension in the first place because he never lived up to his lofty 1st round draft position. Most teams do not exercise the 5th options on players that fail to meet expectations, but the Browns & Berry (much like today's MSM) sold us a make-believe story on Njoku's young age and chance at improving as the reason for picking up the option and the eventual unworthy deal. 8-years later we are still waiting on that top-notch play from Njoku that has eluded the Browns, Berry, and the fans for 8-years now.

As I said and greatly misinterpreted, never mentioning future money, McBride's contract shouldn't have any more impact on Njoku's contract negotiations than Mahomes contract has an impact on Pickett's contract - apples and oranges.

2023 Njoku had 81 receptions for almost 900 yards. He has flashed but has not stayed consistent. Being a contract year, I am hoping he puts up good numbers this year. I would also like to see the Browns draft another quality TE. This year's draft is loaded with good tight ends that will be available in the mid rounds. Going back to 12 and 13 personal groupings it would be good to have multiple quality TE's information at the same time.

I have a hard time using 2024 as part of any sort of measuring stick for pass-catchers.

That said, give KS the weapons to operate out of 12, 13 formations. A drafted TE in a strong class sounds great to me. A stronger (albeit slightly) WR room also helps the team in Njoku negotations.

There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

I wouldn't mind if we brought Moore back now

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

With our less than stellar WR room, why would we let him go?

Yuck. I hope Cedric can take the next step. He did show some promise last year before he got hurt. He was also wide open several times where Watson either didn't look or just didn't throw his way.

Everything about last season was just so trash that it's nearly impossible to draw any real conclusions except that Watson isn't the answer to any questions except those along the lines of "Who was the biggest waste of money in NFL history?"

Browns is the Browns

... there goes Joe Thomas, the best there ever was in this game.

Yep, on to the next option. DJ Chark? Can't stay healthy... Tyler Boyd? Big drop in production with Titans over career with Bengals. Could that mean a bargain price on someone, if he could get back to that stature at the age of 30?

Not a lot of viable options. Cooper and Beckham are available, but they aren't real options. Keenan Allen is available, but it seems like several teams are courting him, which means he will be priced out of the market for the Browns.

Any suggestions?

Then again.. If we sign a WR, then the comp pick probably goes away.. So, maybe we are looking more closely at Tillman, Thrash and Bell finally contributing?

With the QB situation we had last year I'm not sure we can really judge a guy like Tillman. But it's certainly a wait and see situation.

Browns need to bring Amari Cooper back. He and Joe had a connection.

If Amari Cooper is out of options. Otherwise, I'm not sure he comes back.

My money would be on Amari going back to Dallas where he had the most success of his career.

Don't get me wrong, I would like to have him back, but the outlook isn't good for it to happen.

It would probably take a good offer from the FO and a phone call from Joe to even get the conversation started. I'd be curious to see what Cooper's per-game statistics were with Joe Flacco vs any other QB. Flacco definitely loves himself a focal, dependable WR. He rode Anquan Boldin all the way through the playoffs and the SB in 2012.

FYI: We've already signed more FAs than we lost...we aren't getting a comp pick no matter who we sign/dont-sign.
