Do you remember where you were 25 yrs ago, today..?

Looking back after the second plane hit the south tower I realized these 'accidents were not accidents'...these were attacks on our nation from an enemy.

We were attending a funeral for a my brother-in-laws mother and information was sketchy until the services at the cemetery concluded. Once we got home and were able to listen to the news and learned that in addition to the towers being hit the Pentagon had been hit and a passenger jet had gone down in PA.

The 9/11 attacks hit home when we received a phone call that afternoon from our oldest son who was stationed at Camp LeJeune.. he notified us that his unit had been placed on alert and would be awaiting further orders.

We will never forget 9/11/2001...

9-p11-01 was a Tuesday. I know this because I was at home, and Tuesday was my day off. I slept in, and got up and turned on the news. The 1st tower had been hit by a plane, and was smoking. The news was talking about how odd it all was and all kinds of theories as to what happened. Then the second plane hit. I seem to recall hearing the engines go to full speed just before it hit.

"This is no accident. This is an attack."

Somewhere inside my head I said "No kidding".

It is a day I shall never forget in this life.

I remember exactly where I was. I think it would be hard not to.

I was on a residential job in Centerville, Ohio and we had no idea what was happening. The lady who owned the home came out with a very distraught look on her face and said, "You need to come inside. There is something you need to see." We were all in shock as the second plane hit the second tour shortly after we had gone inside the watch the coverage. We packed up our things and went home to be with our loved ones.

Not only the tragedy of that horrible terrorist attack itself will live in my mind forever but that aftermath as well. It was an example of just how much like a family this nation is. We fight amongst each other like cats and dogs. But attack that family and we all come together as one.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Somber day today. This memorial will put a lump in your throat. Tough stories of loss and legacies left behind. Kids who then couldn't understand, now standing here telling missing parents about their grandchildren. First responders smiling down on another generation taking the oath to serve and protect.

Let's not ever forget that this wasn't about planes and towers, it was about the thousands who wake up every day with broken hearts and a sinking pit in their stomachs. They still can't, and never will, reckon what happened on that day.
