Why would he want to come here?
Why would he want to take what is often the one chance a guy gets to be a GM, and do so on a team owned by a guy who blows things up constantly?
I seriously believe that we will gets some junior personnel director from somewhere, who might even make Farmer look experienced. I see no reason for a top guy to want to come here. I don't buy what some fans think, that guys will come here just because it's a top job. Look a the guys who reportedly wouldn't even interview here when we interviewed and hired Pettine. It's sure no better today.

Why would a gm, or a coach even consider going to Cleveland?
Here's what you get: no qb, and a guarantee of being fired in just over 2 years.

So with that reasoning we write off every possible candidate except those at the bottom of the barrel.You do realize he's being mentioned with the Lions don't you?
High pick, a fee decent pieces leftover will pique someone's interest. Not to mention these ego maniacs believe nothing is impossible for them to achieve.
This WILL turn around at some point. What needs to be done WILL eventually sink through Haslams thick head. If it doesn't then the fandom needs to act with their wallets. Jimmy understands the dollar...

Someone who doesn't have anything to prove or earn someone who says heck yeah to 15 mil someone who already understands talent or lack thereof someone who has some history with Haslam someone who is given opportunity to clean house, select his own coaches and take over the reins Someone who may already have the job Is that Wolf, don't know. But I would be interested in the prospect with Daddy along as a consultant.

We don't write off the top candidates, but just like when Chud was fired after 1 year, they write us off. How many "big names" were mentioned as possibilities? How many went elsewhere. How many went nowhere else, preferring to stay in their current jobs than come here. Like them or not, the national football guys are usually dialed in to the coaches around the league. This job was seen as toxic after Chud was fired. How do you think it will be seen now?

I'd look at clock management, players deactivated, roster mgmt etc. and think...that figures.

Fair enough.
I just think that a lot of people are really setting themselves up for disappointment expecting a well respected, up and coming "name" coming to this team.

I'm not expecting much YTown, just hoping for much.
If Farmer AND Pet go we do need to start with the GM job. One if the mistakes have been pounding the square pegs into round holes. We need a good partnership here.

Wolf's bio on the Packers website: Eliot Wolf enters his 12th season with the Packers and first as the director of player personnel after being promoted on Jan. 2, 2015. Prior to his current role, Wolf spent the previous three seasons as the team’s director of pro personnel. In 2011, he served as the assistant director of player personnel after working as the team’s assistant director of pro personnel the previous three seasons (2008-2010).

Overall, he has spent more than two decades in official and unofficial capacities working as a talent evaluator. Wolf has contributed to the Packers’ draft preparations since 1993, 23 consecutive drafts overall. He has held nine NFL scouting internships – five with the Packers, three with the Falcons and one with the Seattle Seahawks.
The 33-year-old Wolf owns a B.A. degree in English with an emphasis in creative writing from the University of Miami (Fla.), graduating in December 2003 after just 3½ years in order to begin his NFL career before the 2004 NFL Draft. I'm not sure the the Packers let him go but there's no reason why the Cleveland Browns DON'T maka an attempt at him. Make him raise his eyebrows. The pedigree is there and I for one am not willing to keep Farmer or see another of his caliber hired.

Something to be said about who is approached possibly. Not ideal situation by far, but if we can show cap, second pick, and the man is good at his job and knows talent, it is best man available for the job. Just hope it isn't a prolonged and goofy search while good choices get snapped up elsewhere. Surprised if Haslam isn't already working this already. Fan's hopes are he has success.
