I met with my manager at work this morning to discuss the annual raise and bonus situation. We just completed our first full year in this role, we developed it on-the-fly. I have 8 teammates. Not everyone on my team got a raise, not everyone got a bonus, and some received neither. I received both, and they were some very nice numbers. The bonus was awesome, almost twice as much as my previous highest bonus amount from any job. My overall salary this year will be about $5K more than it was last year and $26K more than just two years ago at this same company.
The Wart is succeeding and it feels great. This definitely feels good with a little one on the way in September, too. Things are starting to fall into place at the age of 33 as planned. I’m excited that my hard work is finally paying off. I still want much more, though, and won’t stop until I get it.

I sorta know the feelings you're going through. This job I've been at for two years, I made a substantial amount more day one than my previous place, and I work less 40+ hour weeks. It's a huge win win.

Congrats man...Just wait till you get to the point youre in the highest tax bracket and the tax deductions dont do much to help..thats when the real fun begins.

Think about using some of that bonus to start a 529 college fund for you kid.
