WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Trump administration is not considering a plan to raise taxes on the wealthiest Americans in order to pay for tax breaks for the middle class, U.S. Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin said on Sunday.
Speaking on ABC's "This Week," Mnuchin said the administration plans to release its tax plan in early September and is aiming for a vote on Congress on it by the end of this year.

The news website Axios reported that Trump's chief strategist Steve Bannon was advocating a proposal to raise the highest tax bracket to 40 percent or above in order to pay for tax cuts on middle-class Americans.
"I've never heard Steve mention that," Mnuchin said.

Wouldn't the better play be for them to blackmail Hillary, or collude with Hillary and have her win the election if that was the case? it's well documented that Putin dislikes Hillary. And it's because Putin knows Hillary can and will drop the hammer on him if she was president. I've said this before, sometimes it takes a snake to deal with a snake.

The reality is that he would have zero control over Hillary.

But guess who he does have control - or at the very least, influence- over? The businessman who not only trump, but the trump family has fincacial ties to.

Having Hillary in power does nothing for the Russian agenda. If anything it will make getting things done on putins end much harder.

But trump? The guy who has trashed our allies, weakened our influence in the world and most importantly, weakened the bonds of NATO, the biggest road block to Russia currently, is the better option for the Kremlin.

So....the Russians ALREADY hacked American companies. Fact. So it's mind boggling to me how you and Haus and 40 somehow think it's not the Russians who meddled in the election.

Comey already said that trump was their preferred candidate. I think it was fairly obvious to anyone with a brain that the Russians preferred trump over Hillary.

So the question becomes: how did the Russians do it. Who else was involved. Were there Americans involved? If so, who? How far up the food chain does this go?

I've said this before, trump might NOT be guilty. But he's certainly acting like someone who is, or at least someone with so,thing to hide.

Firing 3 people investigating him doesn't look good
Refusing for the longest to acknowledge that Russia hacked us doesn't look good
Going against our intelligence community doesn't look good.
People directly tied to the trump campaign having to recuse themselves for lying about Russian contacts doesn't look good.
Kushner trying to set up backdoor connections to the Russian government doesn't look good
Trump wanting to set up a cyber security unit with the same country that hacked us doesn't look good.
Trashing our allies, but not talking tough to the guy who hacked us doesn't look good.

And I can go on and on.

But what makes me highly critical of trump is.....why is it always Russia? See, if there was multiple countries involved in this, at least I could go "he's a businessman so at least I can see why he's already tied to so many countries".

But it's always just Russia. And that doesn't seem odd to you at all?

-Dad is running for President and I am not part of the campaign, I am a private citizen.
-My bud calls me and says you should meet with this person who says they have damaging info on Hillary.
-I think, I want to hear that info, maybe its big.
-I go to the meeting, the person has nothing, we talk a bit about starting up Americans being able to adopt Russian children again. This person is not qualified for the conversation so I break up the meeting.

-Zero collusion.

That's always been in my mind. It's actually what I've always stated had you bothered to actually read any of my posts. I've never presumed Trump was guilty. Just that they obviously felt there was a cause to investigate and they plan to do a thorough job.

It's also been my position that we won't know what they did or didn't find until the investigations were complete.

I will say that there were so many of his associates that flat out lied about having meetings with the Russians that I believe if there is anything found that it would more than likely be part of his staff that they find to have issues than Trump himself and that those lies are the reason these investigations were started in the first place.

It sounds like your post should have been for some other posters on this board besides me actually.

You're just talking in circles to excuse the fact that it's the GOP investigating Trump's inner circle. You want to blame the Dems and the media for something the GOP is doing. In case you missed it, Rosenstein was appointed by Trump. Rosenstein named a special prosecutor.

Your double talk won't change those facts. It also won't change the facts that it's the GOP led senate and congress investigating these things.

The funny part is I've never said any of them were guilty. I've just said that obviously they have some type of suspicion to base these investigations on. You can't even accept that and have 101 excuses.
