http://money.cnn.com/2018/01/11/news/companies/fiat-chrysler-tax-reform-bonus-jobs/index.htmlLiberals have told us many many times that manufacturing jobs would never come back to America. We heard it from Obama and other Democratic leaders. Well Trump is proving them wrong. The tax cuts were the key. All of these corporations that made money over seas were keeping their money in off shore accounts. Now with the tax cuts that money is coming back in the US. Many Many Many companies are giving US citizens bonuses because they spread their wealth. Even Wal mart is giving out raises and bonuses due to the tax cuts. https://www.cnbc.com/2018/01/11/walmart-...r-tax-bill.htmlA poll just came out that now says 66% of the US think the economy is doing well. http://money.cnn.com/2018/01/11/news/companies/fiat-chrysler-tax-reform-bonus-jobs/index.htmlLiberals have no answer for this so they run to anything they can to divert attention from the truth. They use race bating, Russia, and anything they can to hide what is really happening. America is being made great again!!!

More layoffs at Indiana factory Trump made deal to keep open https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-t...SKBN1F02TL?il=0Public filings also revealed locations in other parts of the U.S. that would be shutting their doors. In Illinois, seven Sam's Clubs employing 1,138 people were slated to close Jan. 26, The notifications said that the termination of hourly workers would be effective as of March 16, and for managers as of April 13. Check out this article from USA TODAY: Sam's Club closing dozens of stores; some being converted to distribution centers https://usat.ly/2D5TSlD

Also, there are multiple reports suggesting that loopholes in the new tax bill might make it easier for companies to ship jobs overseas, and actually save even more on money kept off shore.
Yikes.

Distribution centers. Sounds to me that walmart sees more of a future in delivering products instead of keeping a discount warehouse store open. They'll rehire those people once they get set up.

yes, because we have people on this board blatantly supporting racist.
it's not that hard to grasp.
as far as walmart, they laid off sams club workers while simultaneously "boosting" wages and a one time bonus.
so they didn't really do much of anything.

anyways, we will see how much this tax bill works.
for the GOP sake, they better hope it starts making an immediate impact come mid-term election day.
for the sake of the people, i hope it works. but hope and expectations are two vastly different things.

Your posts make me feel like Mr. T, because I pity you fools. But while you feel the need to prop Trump up and lie to cover him consider this quote: "The truth is incontrovertible. They took affect 1/1/18 ... i think your confusing when folks will start seeing the new tax brackets take affect in their paychecks with the law going into affect .. It went into affect on Jan 1 .... its the new tax law and it is in FULL AFFECT TODAY ... my ex g/f works at paychex ... they instituted the new tax laws into their payroll system yesterday ... so the folks that use paychex will start seeing more money in their next checks ... BUT that has ZERO to do with when the law took affect ...

We aren't creating sustainable jobs, wealth disparity is at French Revolution levels, and we just passed a tax bill that's going to take even more money out of what's left of the middle class. You're going to continue to see retail shuttering doors.

U gotta remember your audience bro ... They still can’t figure out that 1 + 1 = 2 .. When it comes to Carrier and the Coal Mine closing ... they really struggle with the difference between: Trying and Failing and NEVER TRYING ... Under their boy we just gave up and never tried to save jobs ... Trump TREID to save the carrier jobs, Trump is TRYING to save WHAT HE CAN IN COAL ... U need to look no further than the GDP for an example ... oBUMa and his BAFOONS said get used to 1% its the new normal ... they said 3% would NEVER be SEEN AGAIN and it was TOTTALY IMPOSSIBLE to ever achieve again ..... not sure Trumps had a quarter yet UNDER THE UNACHIVABLE 3% ... ... Wouldn’t shock me if we hit 4 or even 5 % raise in GDP this year .... but 3% is UNACHIEVABLE according to the QUITTERS!!!! Like i said bro .. u gotta understand your audience ...

On my way to Toledo today I heard an ad on the radio.
Worthington Steel, in Delta, OH, is hiring for manufacturing positions. Full time, with paid vacation, health insurance, dental, etc. No age restrictions, no experience in manufacturing necessary. Most employees will make over $50,000 in the first year. (caveat: must be willing to work a swing shift)
WS makes steel coils used in the auto industry, among other things.
I know 2 people that work there. Good job. Hard, and hot, but a good job.
Drug testing required. According to a cousin, that works there, they can't find enough people that can pass a drug test.

Won’t it be great when the archaic federal marijuana laws are eventually lifted and these companies can hire people on their merits, instead of what they did two Saturday nights ago? I think so. Now if they want to check for meth, or non prescribed narcotics/opioids, have at it.

Surely you understand that it's not simply the companies, right?
Surely you understand it's insurance companies, for the most part, right?
Accident happens at work, and the guy involved is drunk - boy, look out!
Accident happens at work, and the guy involved has drugs in his system, boy, look out!
And I'll say it again. Had 2 other couples over last night for supper since the Lady Streaks game was cancelled. 1 of the guys is the CEO of a construction company. Hiring. So many people can't pass a drug test, and he can't hire (actually, he doesn't hire, the hiring is left to some of his 1000 more or less, employees). Other guy, CFO of a smaller company, but one with a plant in a neighboring town, and also a plant in India - can't find enough people here (for the neighboring town) that can pass a drug test, AND that show up for work consistently.
Wife works in a factory. She just got a nice big ass raise. That company is hiring - if it can. She got a big ass raise because? She has been there quite a while, and she shows up, and she does her job and then some.
What's sad is some people apparently can't do that same thing.
Went to a Toledo Walleye hockey game a week ago, courtesy of a bigwig in the company. It was interesting what he, and the CEO of the company, said.

I do understand all of what you just wrote. My hope is when the feds reschedule, that part of the drug testing, cannabis, will fall away. I can understand not wanting to hire lazy people or people that don’t show up for work. But I won’t make the direct correlation that EVERY cannabis user is that way. I know too many in my life that are a direct contradiction to that implication. I’m fine with companies not hiring ‘stoners’. Much as I would be them not hiring alcoholics. Too much drama and risk. But most guys I know go home and toss a few beers back in the evenings. Many others smoke a bowl. That casual usage of either intoxicant shouldn’t render either of them unhirable. That’s all I’m saying. Hire on merit.

No problem there.
Absolutely hire on merit!!!! Absolutely.
But, when your insurance company demands a drug test - what can you do?
With all the technology available, shouldn't it be easy to determine who's high and who simply had a joint a week ago?
It's easy with alcohol. Not so much with pot though, right?
Drugs are a problem - and I'm not simply saying pot is. Then, lazy ass people that don't show up for work? Another problem.

Your in business for yourself ... this shouldn’t be that hard for U to figure out ... Wasn’t a radio personality but a news report. Heard a report on NPR and read a couple business journal stories this morning. The reason they are closing the Sams Club is that they are underperforming or the areas that they put them in are not developing as fast as thought. They don't know how many of the 11,000 that are getting laid off are going to be rehired. Of the 63 Sams that are closing, they are making 10 into e-commerce warehouses, and those are mostly automated, requiring very few workers. As far as Walmart and the raises, the reports state that they reason they are boosting wages is they are trying to limit turnover, which they have a very large amount of and to keep up with other retail. I didn't know until today, but in 2020 Target is going to raise their wages to 15 an hour. I am sure the tax plan helps their bottom line, but they are trying to retain help, and this is the 3rd wage increase announced in the last few years, so it isn't all to do with the tax plan

Yikes. You can't believe everything the liberal media tells ya. They hate America. The truth is in what businesses do like Fiat Chrysler closing a factory in Mexico and moving to Michigan creating 2,500 jobs. The CEO credits the tax cuts. You sound like Stalin or Hitler and Trump... Attacking the free press.. If you want to be a dictator, the first thing you MUST do is discredit any person or entity that disagrees with you. Exactly what Trump has done and what Hitler and Stalin did. Know your history. I'm glad for any jobs that come back but be fair if you are going to talk about it, tell both sides. You forgot about Carrier...(don't tell me they are temp layoffs, how could they be that if they are MOVING production to Mexico?) You forgot to mention that Walmart owns Sam's Club and they are closing 63 stores. I read where each store employees about 100 employees.. That's 6300 people that are LOSING their jobs. Did you miss that? Anybody can improve the economy. All you have to do is lower corporate tax rates and lift restrictions that business and industry found restricting. (mostly environmental issues, we may yet pay a price for that so don't get too excited.) That's all it takes.. Oh, and to pay for it, you just have add to the deficit and cut things like the Chip program (a for instance), next up is Social Security and Medicare. All this is supposed to not happen because the GDP will grow and the revenue will off set the deficit! that is of course betting on the "If Come"... Would you do that in your personal life? I wouldn't. Calculated risk, sure,, do that all the time. Betting that everything will work perfectly? That's crazy stuff right there.
