Bruno!

Put St. Peter in a Sleeper Hold if he doesn't let you through the Pearly Gates.

RIP

You know, some people still think WWE is fake.

Wow....I didn't realize he was still alive. A big lummox like that usually doesn't live 82 years.

RIP Bruno.

Both Bruno and Gorilla did the TV broadcasts back in the day. Story lines were more fun and it wasn't like being at a strip joint!

I remember back in the 70s when a group of us went to the old Cleveland Arena on a Friday night to watch wrestling. One of my buddies had a few too many beers and got into it with The Sheik. My buddy took great umbrage when the Sheik won his match by eye-gouging whoever his opponent was with a pen that he pulled from his shorts when the ref "wasn't looking". Anyway, as the Sheik is leaving the ring, my friend starts mocking on him and ends up throwing his chair at him (the Sheik). We got thrown out. I remember asking him as we were escorted from the building "you do know its fake, right?" and he said "Yeah, but I just hate that cheating motherbleeper.".

I had an uncle in West Virginia who'd have torn your throat out if you called it fake. Haystacks Calhoun was the man!

Growing up in Fla, you had to be a Jack Brisco fan. That figure 4 leg lock was mean.

I liked Argentina Rocco with his flying drop kicks.

It was funny. If you went to different regions of the country, each had their Tojo Yamamoto, but it seemed like it was always a different person....lol Just get the Asian guy in their stable and tell him he is Tojo tonight.

Let's not forget the 8th wonder of the world, the wild bull of the pampas....Pampero Firpo! His technical move was the "El Garfio".

There's some funny stories about him and Jim Hacksaw Duggan getting busted together for alcohol or something. They were enemies in the ring and they had to end that as they were partying together. Fans were pissed that Duggan and Sheik were pals! Just wiki search some of these guys! Their back stories are interesting! Duggan was recruited by OSU football but chose SMU!
